how long do you pray for people?

I have a prayer list a mile long. Do I keep praying for people until the prayers are answered? Or do I only pray once for them? I have a list a mile long of people to pray for. I don't mind at all praying for them but I wonder if the Father gets upset or annoyed by prayers being repeated over and over for the same people?

I think every one who answers this will have a different answer as I believe our prayers are special and personal..

I trust God to both speak to me whom to pray for and to give me release from those who I feel burdened for .. when that burden is lifted I believe the need is either not there any more or He has put the burden on someone else to pray for a season..

Just trust God to answer your heart ...

He will meet His children in His way and His time .. I trust Him as much as I can with this flawed heart of mine...

and it is a privilege to be a part of praying for each other..

And there is a Scripture I really really like because so many times my heart is so grieved by things our "family" in Christ suffer..

Rom 8:26 Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.

Rom 8:27 And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

Rom 8:28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

Well... there is some scripture about praying like the hypocrites and repeating over and over (I think)....

But, to pray for Tom, Dick, Mary and Joe each day - no - He does not get tired of that.... And it'll make you feel better too. There are actual studies that show people who pray are happier than those who don't and I must be one of the happiest people on the planet.

I do wish I knew more of what you are asking..

If there is a burden on your heart for someone pray and pray and use whatever words or even groaning that I shared in the above scripture...If you are in tune with the Lord you are praying as He would have you pray...

do not worry about what you say so much as letting your heart free to hear Him and voice His will in your prayers...

If Your prayer is repetitious then perhaps there is a reason...

Mat 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions,as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

Praying, for you, is not what this is talking about... You are not praying with vain repetitions ..You are seeking the Lord for those He loves.....

The main thing is seeking Him and His will for the one you are burdened for...... focus on that ....

Lord Bless you and open your heart and mind and spirit as to how He wants you to pray ...

I have been praying for one lady for almost two years and another for over a year. I pray for my family, my country, the President and Israel....every day. I don't think God gets tired of hearing us pray; I'm just amazed He has the patience to put up with us NOT praying, NOT obeying His Commandments and not following Him.

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. 

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end. 
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house. 

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
