The first 300 years of Christianity there was no book that was the all in all. We should know that a semi pagan emporer created the bible. I do like the selection of the 66 and think they work just fine. But remember that the early Christians even writers of the bible were readers of these books and considered them credible. escpecially the books of enoch and jubillees. The book of Revelation barley made it into the cannon. I enjoy looking into what the early Christians new before the it was condensed and closed.

Dear One We Should Know That All Scripture Is God Breathed

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

2 Timothy 3:16-17

Including The First Testimony

Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,

Psalms 40:7

Of The LORD Jesus Christ

For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:

And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:

Whom I shall see for myself, and mine eyes shall behold, and not another; though my reins be consumed within me.

Job 19:25-27

And Any Words Otherwise

For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

2 Peter 1:21

Are Just A Sorry Attempt To Steal Your Birthright

And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

Galatians 4:6

>>>>>()<<<<<

Eat

The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.

Psalms 12:6

Eat

How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!

Psalms 119:103

Eat

Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.

Jeremiah 15:16

And Be Blessed Beloved

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

John 1:14

Love, Joe

As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. Psalms 42:1

"We should know that a semi pagan emporer created the bible." I think I would phrase that as a semi pagan emporer made it possible for the Bible to be assembled by some dedicated followers of Christ. You make it sound like James had a lot of input as to what was included and what was not. I could be wrong, but I don't believe that he had much if any input.

It is a common myth that Constantine actually called the first Council of Nicaea to decide what books went into the bible. This is not actually true, the main reason was a controversy brought about by Arius, who was thought to be a Greek Heretic and to decide on one doctrine for the church because of the threat.

The agenda of the synod included:

The Arian question regarding the relationship between God the Father and Jesus; i.e. are the Father and Son one in divine purpose only or also one in being;

The date of celebration of the Paschal/Easter observation

The Meletian schism; (Bishop Meltian was refusing to accept Christians who had renounced their faith during the Roman persecution and now wanted to re-join the church)

The validity of baptism by heretics;

The status of lapsed Christians who had renounced their faith in the persecution under Licinius. (Licinius was a Christian Roman emperor who reinstated lands that had been confiscated during the Roman persecution to Christians, and the question was being asked, if they had refuted their faith, why then should they get their property back?). Constantine eventually killed Licinius (don't think that because these guys were christians they turned the other cheek  Different times, different doctrines and ideas)

I believe that the formation of the 66 books was a God inspired event. I wont argue the fact that these books give us a firm foundation in our Christian faith. I will admit that I own and have read many gnostic scriptures and old hebrew works, and find them very different from what we have in the bible. I think that this group of theologins took the best and most understandable books so that the people could have a firm book of Christian living to live by. We do know that some of those books left out did have influence over the cannon a good example is Jude ch 1 verse 9 and 14 verse 9 comes from the Assumption of Moses and 14 from the book of Enoch. Now if the writers of the bible were influenced by these other books than they must hold some value.

That is actually not accurate. Constantine played a part in organizing the council but had very little to do with the actual proceedings. Generally the contents and extend of the canon were already agreed upon by the church. The council was called in response to some heretics who desired to introduce some non canonical matierials to support their false doctrine

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
