Do you ever....

I'm not saying that the Spirit CAN'T operate in this manner, just wondering if He did. If you had that resonance in the Spirit at the time, and it glorified God and gave all praise to Him, then... OK .

Yeah, and just think about the story of the rich man and Lazarus. The rich man was in hell yet could feel, sense, touch, hear and see! Our spiritual bodies can do all this!

Luke 16:19-31

Parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus

19 Jesus said, “There was a certain rich man who was splendidly clothed in purple and fine linen and who lived each day in luxury. 20 At his gate lay a poor man named Lazarus who was covered with sores. 21 As Lazarus lay there longing for scraps from the rich man’s table, the dogs would come and lick his open sores.

22 “Finally, the poor man died and was carried by the angels to be with Abraham. The rich man also died and was buried, 23 and his soul went to the place of the dead. There, in torment, he saw Abraham in the far distance with Lazarus at his side.

24 “The rich man shouted, ‘Father Abraham, have some pity! Send Lazarus over here to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue. I am in anguish in these flames.’

25 “But Abraham said to him, ‘Son, remember that during your lifetime you had everything you wanted, and Lazarus had nothing. So now he is here being comforted, and you are in anguish. 26 And besides, there is a great chasm separating us. No one can cross over to you from here, and no one can cross over to us from there.’

27 “Then the rich man said, ‘Please, Father Abraham, at least send him to my father’s home. 28 For I have five brothers, and I want him to warn them so they don’t end up in this place of torment.’

29 “But Abraham said, ‘Moses and the prophets have warned them. Your brothers can read what they wrote.’

30 “The rich man replied, ‘No, Father Abraham! But if someone is sent to them from the dead, then they will repent of their sins and turn to God.’

31 “But Abraham said, ‘If they won’t listen to Moses and the prophets, they won’t listen even if someone rises from the dead.’”

Yes, our spiritual bodies can do all that. But still, there is a danger of incorrectly attributing emotions, to the spirit. How do you check this?

God gives me "senses" all the time. I just can't explain it very well in english.... I just have a "feeling" or an "awareness" about something. It usually isn't the persons exact thoughts, but more like.... they are struggling with xyz. And it's never for my own benefit, it's usually only to call me to pray for that person.

It has to match up with the Bible, and is an answer to a question you didn't know the answer to before. Once you get that answer, there is no question it is correct. It is irrefutable. I had a personal question this afternoon about something and I didn't know the answer, but when it came, there was no more doubts. It totally matched up with the Word and something was revealed to me I didn't know the answer to.

I agree. It has to agree with the bible.

But sometimes, this is impossible to do. Like... when God says something very specific (for example) ... "Your mother is reacting out of extreme tiredness today, don't bite when she brings up the topic of getting the dogs neutered" ... how do I know I heard that right?

Here is the difference though. Imagine I was right next to you physically right now as we were talking to each other. That's what it sounded like. It wasn't in the same manner that I was talking to God earlier. It was as if I came right next to you andy and spoke in your ear. I'm sure your ears would tingle too.. it was just like that!

Lately, I've noticed.. this doesn't happen often but... I can hear a person's thoughts in my head very clearly and very loudly when they have some very strong emotions about something.

For example, I was meeting with this one lady one time and I told her what it would cost me to produce a website for her. I thought everything went well, I didn't pressure her in any way and she said yes.. So after we say bye to each other I was walking away I could feel her eyes on me and could hear all manners of curses as if spoken by her voice in my head. This was a very Loud voice. It just shocked me so much she would say such a thing especially because I would not pressure her if she said no.. I didn't dare turn around to see if she was actually looking at me or anything.

One other situation like this.. I was arguing in my mind with myself about a person who I liked but who always sinned and caused me to sin. So I was thinking this in my mind.. and then I heard the voice of that person say to me "What about you??" in the same whiny manner that person would have said those words. I honestly thought she was listening in on my inner thoughts but she lives all the way across the city.

I'm pretty sure it happened one other time but these are the only two cases I can remember and it happened over the past year.

..does this ever happen to you?

I've had a few strange things, and yes I have heard voices. Nothing major, but just things that make me go "Hmmm.....". But I do have a question for you. Did you get any confirmation that this was actually her thoughts? You didn't turn around to see if she was watching you leave. Have you talked with her since then and had anything to confirm that the thoughts were hers? I know you said that the words were in her voice, but coud it have been something else?

Blien that is really weird...and very deceptive. It is a lie from the enemy of our soul. NO ONE knows what our thoughts are except the Lord! You should get into His presence awhile and ask Him to destroy the enemies plans against you. Put on your spiritual armor cause the devil is very deceptive and we need to recognize that. Will pray for you.

The next time this seems to happen to you, just ask the person concerned..... "Is this what you are thinking about?" If this is from the Spirit and they lie in giving their answer, you should be able to discern this?

My mom just did this today.

I was driving her to work and thinking how good it would be for her if she had a drivers license (not in a mean sense). And she spoke as soon as I finished that thought. She said.."Sorry to wake you up. I know I should get my drivers license." There is no work of the enemy in this and I'm pretty well trained with his deception to know when it is.

As for the other lady. I didn't approach her about it, even though I seriously considered it. What she said about me was evil. I didn't let it affect me because I didn't hear it from her mouth directly and I don't even think about it when I am with her. It was negative.. what if it were her true thoughts about me. She should speak it out instead of speaking it in her spirit like that. It's her prerogative not mine.
