Ya'll. I cannot be still. when I try to be still with God, to be quiet. I can't do it!!!! Like just now, I went to go sit in His lap. To pray and to be quiet. My mind is going 90 to nothing bouncing from one thing to the next, I try to focus myself....NOTHING

I went through a series of different ways to worship with an old youth director once. And he talked about the monks and breath prayers. I did the "Jesus Christ Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner" in and out. That worked for a few seconds, but as soon as I stopped saying it or I messed the breathing part of it, there goes my mind again. I tried covering my eyes with the blanket to make it really dark, I tried praying that He would let me focus and not be so talkative...but the they still come. Not bad thoughts. just busy a mind.

I've tried writing prayers down, and that works.

But I just want to BE with God!!!!!! I just want to sit with Him!!!!!

What can I do?

You need to be submissive to His will and His Word....go by yourself....just you and Him.....Daddy wants to go for a walk  Stop and reflect.....gaze into His eyes.....and then pray that all barriers and obstacles would be removed. You need to have a broken and contrite heart. Repent of those things in your life that you need to remove. Confess them open honestly.....clear your mind - that's what I mean.

After you have asked for Him to lay upon your heart those barriers in your life that are preventing you from being closer, submit to Him. Take your shoes off Beth....you will be on Holy Ground. He is altogether lovely.....cry out to Him.....ask for HIS will to be done, not yours. Then silence yourself in submission before a righteous God. He will speak to you. Pray for discernment.....let Him enter in. Do not just crack your heart's door - throw it open and welcome him in....He's altogether worthy :il:

Open your heart to receive His blessings.....submit to His will...I fail to see how you will be standing at this point. He is worthy to be praised.....do just that. Bow in submission....and give Him your Heart.....let Him take it and mold it into His will. You will have tears in your eyes....that's ok; Daddy is worth it Beth. He's altogether lovely. Ask for a cleansing of your heart.....that it would be pure and clear. A conscience clear in him.

Now you are ready to listen.....the volume of life has been turned down.....let Him speak. Then humbly obey. It's on His terms, not your's. You are a literal temple of the Holy Spirit.....keep your house in order....He's worth it.....

Do you hear Him ? He will speak. Keep your ears tuned and your heart in submission.....you will discern His will.

Daddy is Good....I do love Him so :)

Go for a walk Beth.....He's waiting and searching.....He loves you and desires to enter in.....let Him in.....He will speak; but on His terms, not your's.

God bless and experience His peace,

Bob

Hello beth

I'm not sure what the source of your hyperactivity is but you could look into what you eat and drink? Do you drink caffeine drinks ? Like coffee ,coke, pepsi and tea?

Do you eat foods with a lot of sugar in them? Or other soft drinks heavy with sugar?

I was Hyperactive when i was a kid but i just seemed to grow out of it.

I know from your post that you are finding it hard to be still but if you can say a small heart felt prayer for God to help you be still. And also i hope that everyone who reads your post will Pray for your need in this also. :il:

LOL I am not hyper active. Like bodily I am fine. but mentally sometime my mind won't shut off. At the time I wanted to be quiet was like 2:00 Am or 5:00 Am I hadn't had anything to eat. Or drink. so it wasn't sugar or caffeine. When I daid be still, I meant calming my head. Focusing my heart on Christ. Shutting off my thoughts. --Thanks Ad

Thanks Bob. I still haven't quite shut up. I will have to print this, and try it outside in my quiet place.

Love you too called  Thanks for the encouragement.

Any more suggestions.......or anyone that can relate to what I am saying. How did you shut up??

I will tell you what I try to do.. I go by myself where there is limited distractions. I mean go in your dark closet if necessary. You go in there and you don't say a word, you simply say the word Jesus over and over and over again. You can control your thoughts, if something else pops in your mind, just stop it right there and start saying Jesus' name. Eventually you will train yourself to be able to focus on Him. I still have problems, but it isn't like it used to be, cause I make an effort to control my thoughts. Hope this helps in some way. :)

I agree here. You have to go somewhere away from distractions. Taking a walk or even sitting in your closet or in the bathtub. Not many folks would bother you while your in the bathtub. It's hard sometimes to get away from the distractions and Satan will be doing whatever he can to prevent you from being with the Father but persevere and God will honor you.

Well KMB I have to say there are still distractions in the tub or taking a walk, going somewhere pitch black is best, nothing to look at! When I pray in the tub, all I can think about is going on a diet! LOL! ;)

BTW- I am gonna leave in a little bit, I am bonding with Bama! :t2:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
