It never ceases to amaze me on this board how one simple question can generate so much animosity and so quickly. The question was "Does God 'USE' pain"---not does God 'INFLICT' pain! These are two very different questions. The question 'Does God use pain is a very personal question.' Meant to generate dialogue concerning your own personal experiences. How it turned into World War Three is beyond me.

Now we have people in tears, people who are angry, people with hurt feelings who have decided to leave Worthy or threatening to leave. How can something deteriorate into a war of words just blows my mind. When I posted the question and answered it from my personal experience was just that my personal experience. There is no right or wrong answer to this question its just a question!

Alot of hurtful things were said here on both sides that should never have been said. If you disagree with someones answer please do not attack their opinion, its not fair, not right, and its not done in Christian love. Because of some of the decisions now to leave Worthy you have fallen into the enemies trap, he comes to cause division, strife, anger, and bad feelings especially among Christians. He just got alot of points today because of all this anger and bitterness.

Tess you need to come back because you have alot to offer, you have wisdom beyond your years, your concept of Scripture is amazing. Please don't give into the enemy by walking away. I understand your hurt feelings, really I do, I have been hurt on this forum too, by people I really trusted and grown to love.

And I did leave for a bit, the internet is a big place and I thought that by leaving I was going to show them a thing or two. But you know I was the one missing out, this board really is anointed by the Holy Spirit, sure there are a few thorns here and there that aggravate the heck out of me sometimes. But on the whole the people here really love the Lord and really do love each other.

I felt really out of place when I first came here too Tess, wondering if I would be accepted if anyone would respond to my posts, but they did Tess, the welcome mat was out and the love of Christ shone through. Please Tess give it another chance here, I for one would miss you terribly, so would Carol, Super Jew, Trinity you have alot of friends here Tess, we can be a support system for you and you for us. Don't hide all that wonderful Scripture knowledge and Christ's love from us you have alot to give.

And Eric you have many, many friends here too, people that love and respect you for the knowledge you have gained over the years, for your advice, and for your deep love of the Lord. No one needs to leave this place do not let Satan get a foot hold in your walk with God because of some disagreements its not worth it. We all have a right to our opinions on this topic and any other that is on here, as long as we all agree on the fundamentals of Salvation everything else is open to interpretation.

And if you don't agree with someones opinion all you have to do is say why you don't agree, your reasons why, and please say it with respect to others feelings. I don't know why we have to make this so difficult.

Not one of us here on this board has a monopoly on pain and suffering, or on things we can teach each other, we need to realize this and respect the boundaries of speaking to each other in Christ's love. I hope you will all reconsider your decisions and not make any of them in anger or bitterness. This was just a simple question people not to divide but to just get some dialogue going about your experiences, nothing more nothing less. Do not let division rule your hearts ask God for His guidence.

In His Love Marilyn

Good points Marilyn....funny it only took me 9 pages to learn "The question was "Does God 'USE' pain"---not does God 'INFLICT' pain! These are two very different questions"...was the gist of this thread... :)

I actually thought the original question involved both issues for those that couldn't or didn't differentiate the two...;)

Brothers/Sisters........

I just spent the last 1 1/2 hrs taking my time slowly reading through this entire thread.

My final conclusion?

Saints.....we need to be ashame of ourselves. There were saints pointing fingers at one another, saints speaking down to one another, rudeness, disrespect, etc, etc, etc.

The topic is a great choice for discussion (when we allow the HOLY SPIRIT to lead). I understood Marilyn's disgust. She was only trying to choose a topic to stimulate good wholesome discussion. It NEVER should have gone beneath that!

Now.....I am NOT going to sit here and point out who was at fault. Deep within our individual hearts YOU KNOW if you were, and this is something YOU will have to deal with, WITH our FATHER (1 John 1:9). So I'm not going to call out individuals, nor am I going to close this thread for now. I find it rather interesting that the topic of this thread is EXACTLY what we have caused here.......PAIN.

We lost clear and concise COMMUNICATION with one another on this thread, and it turned real ugly, real fast. The sad part is it hurts every Christian on this Board when we act this way folks. We're ONE BODY of BELIEVERS headed by our LORD/SAVIOUR JESUS CHRIST. If I was unsaved and "lurking" trying to see what the Christian faith is truly all about, and I happened upon this thread, what might I think?

Would I find the kind of "spiritual fruit" I'd love to taste/eat? Would I find the kind of love our FATHER wants YOU and I to display outwardly from an inner growth? (1 Corinthians 13)

Would I want what YOU have by reading this thread?? (John 13:34-35...Romans 12:9-10....1 John 2:10; 3:18....Colossians 3:12-13).

No Saints.....I'm not going to let any of us off that easy this time. I'm NOT going to close this thread. Instead, I'm going to ask each of YOU reading this who partook in it to EXAMINE YOURSELF. Reread this ENTIRE thread over again, but prior to doing so ask our LORD to truly (and I do mean truly) open YOUR spiritual eyes, mind and heart as you read through each and every posts.

Then...act upon what ever our FATHER places within your heart. It is YOU who has a personal relationship with HIM. This is HIS Board........deal with it.

Concerning those who wish to leave the Board.....that is a choice which has to be made between YOU and the LORD. I WOULD NOT want to see any of you go, but that is a CHOICE you have to make. Sometimes it helps to take some time off to collect your thoughts. However, WHATEVER the choice is that you make I would ask that you do so prayerfully, and NOT impulsively. Heated discussions/debates have a tendency to cause emotions to oftentimes cloud one's thinking, and cause actions he/she may later regret.

GOD didn't have to cause any pain here.......we did! The fact HE allowed it should make us all do some individual soul searching. What we may not know about one another HE already does.

Again, I am asking my fellow MODS NOT to close this thread. Under the guidance of the HOLY SPIRIT, let's (as a family) work our way out of this mess! :)

Please,

Read everything Wisdom has said above. I spent one hour reading this myself. The Lord has spoken thru our Brother Wisdom. It would do us all well to turn our offensive weapons away from slaying eachother.

Instead of holding a shield against the blows of another. We should open our arms and slay the enemy. :il:

Peace,

Dave

-I have maybe a year or two left on this planet and I'll be ding busted if I'll let a bunch of kids talk down to me even if they can quote scripture like a poet. Scripture is useless if it's quoted out of context. After I've seen the way Tess can handle herself on other threads I confess I had misjudge her potential.

Thank You Wisdom and Dr. Luke for bringing the voice of reason and sanity back into this topic. I suggest that all of us who made uncalled for comments of any kind to one another ask God for forgiveness first and then be courageous enough to go to those that have been hurt and ask them for forgiveness. Do unto others as you would have done to you. And to the pie throwers this was really not the right time for that, forgiveness should of been the first priority and then the levity. Some people are still hurting and that needs to be corrected first. The pie throwing in this situation was in poor taste, I know you were trying to lighten the mood, but first things first. And thank you to the mods for not pulling it yet. We need to do some soul searching first.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
