So i have heard many times before that if someone is christian why do they do bad things too? It gets me sooo upset. I mean christians are people too. If i am christian and i may be in a depression or simply sad, people ask why. like this: why? I want to explain that we are all humans. That we will all make mistakes, get sad, be unhappy and loose it from time to time. :taped: We have temptations, we have anger, and are impatient. People expect us to be different, and don't get me wrong, we are, but we are not perfect either. they say things like "goody-two-shoes" to me many times. :foot-stomp: one time i had bought a sandwhich, but it had ham. I don't eat ham. I have a ham phobia. and I offered it to everyone near me since i hadn't tuched it. Nobody wanted it so i threw it away. It was a small sandwhich so i didn't see the big deal. (I don't ususally throw food away. please don't get the wrong idea of me) But people were flabberghasted. in shock. They mocked: kids in africa!! 1) that is such a stereotype 2) It would take weeks for 1 sandwhich to get there, and i would probably go bad in it's journey. So what do you answer to teasing? What do you say? Do? act? feel? I get upset.

I try to be the person God wants me to be, but it takes time, and i won't always get it perfect.

Do you guys go through this? or is it just me?

Best,

Lilly

2 Corinthians 10:12 For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, "ARE NOT WISE."

We are not to compare our own selves with other people in general we are not to become one of the many people that do this but we are not to join in with them. Neither are we to measure our own status by what others have to what we have in this life, for those about us do practice this as the Lord's counsel to us we are "NOT" to engage in such activity, and all that practice this the Lord says, of them that "they are not wise." We shouldn't compare or measure with others.

Be Blessed

Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. Matthew 5:10-12

Be Blessed Beloved Daughter Of The KING

"So i have heard many times before that if someone is christian why do they do bad things too?" Lilly, tell them that we are just sinful people who have been saved by grace. If they are looking for perfection, tell them that they should look at Jesus Christ, our perfect God, and not at us, his imperfect servants. Tell them also that making a person holy, under the ministry of the Holy Spirit, takes a lifetime....

"They say things like "goody-two-shoes" to me many times." As Nebula said, wear this pride, for this means that they are noticing you, that you are indeed becoming the light Jesus has called you to be. Simply think that your righteousness is convicting them of their sins, which is the simple truth.

"So what do you answer to teasing?" Simply keep silent, Lilly. Simply keep your heart's peace. Look at all this teasing as training for you to attain the peace of Christ. For when you are agitated, evil can do damage to you, but if you are at peace, they cannot. Run to Jesus whenever you feel that your calm is cracking to regain your peace. Do this every time until this becomes a habit. Then you will find that no teasing can ever touch you again.

And a glorious hope for you to look forward to: Strive to be like Jesus more and more -- the Perfect One, the Righteous One, the Holy One -- so that people will be forcefully compelled to silence because of your mere righteous presence.

Thanks guys. All your answers are always thought out throughly, and wisely. I love that everyone here has diffrent gifts, diffrent thoughts and when you combine them, you have one yummy feeling. I know now to keep silent at teasing, to wear my goodness with pride, and encourage others to do the same. To live this life so that people want to follow the lord; because they see him through us and our actions. That silence my just be the best answer, and that patients is what we must have to give our community a good name.

Just an afterthought.

Lilly, when you "wear your goodness with pride," be careful that you do not become self-righteous in the process. That is, always be humble, and do not judge other people. Also, always compare yourself with Jesus, because if you do this, you will always be aware of how far you really are to true holiness; this way, you will never become boastful about your own "righteousness."

Keep in mind the following:

But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. (Isaiah 64:6, KJV)

...The righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.... (Romans 3:22-24, ESV)

Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye. (Matthew 7:1-5, ESV)

Just Thank God that you are counted worthy to suffer for His Name (Acts 4:40-41)

II Timothy 3:12

Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

People who would mock and judge you for the disposal of a ham sandwich are LOOKING for reasons to bash you. Tell them to take the plank out of their own eye first and then turn to God for assurance that He is the judge who matters. You can also pray for these poor beings to come to Him because they obviously don't know Him.

What about when you mocked and scoffed at me and spewed hatred towards me the last time I was one here? I don;t know who you are to talk about what you just said? All cause I didn't take the same stance on a topic as you did, you and a couple others spewed you hostility and hatred towards me.

Although no-one is perfect, we are supposed to be people of light. We are not supposed to be like the world. We are a new creation. Jesus mentioned of people who worship Him with their lips, but their hearts are far from Him. That represents a lot of christians today. Just like the Pharisees and Saducees who had religion, but no relationship with the Lord, who had head knowledge, but no heart knowledge. Those "religious" folks even hated Jesus. Ya see, true christians don't willfully live in sin, and they don't willfully do evil. Yes, they make mistakes and they screw up, but the repent. King David repented of his sins. Many christians tear others down, they are mean to others. If you disagree with them, they will tear you down. I have come across christians who were utterly dishonest, they lie, cheat and manipulate, they gossip against others, they slander others, they are self centered, and have no heart. They call themselves christians, but their actions who otherwise. Jesus said a tree will be known by it's fruit.

Ever look at how divided the church is? Denominationially and racially, christians are divided. Just as many people in the world are full of prejudiced, so are many christians. I have come across racism in the church, I have come across denominations who think "their" denomination is the one true way. What about christians who hate a person for being gay? Although the bible says it's sin, some christians hate their guts. Jesus said love they neighbor, but many christians can't even talk to you if you have some stupid label sticker on you. I have been called a retard by many in the church. Many have considered me to be stupid, useless and worthless. They avoided me and left me out cause I didn't fit in with the clique. yet they say the love one another.

The only time church folks have anything to do with me is when they want to try and take advantage of me. When they find out I'm not for sale, they have nothing to do with me. Yet they claim they love one another.

The truth is, many are hypocrites. Many are so phony it's pathetic. Even some people in the world are more straight up than they are. They're supposed to be the children of light, but worldly people can act better than they do???

Based on what I have quoted here (and based on them only because I don't yet know you), I realize, Brother, that you have been badly hurt also by the Church, like me.

There are some things that I want you to think about.

First. Not all who call themselves Christians are true followers of Jesus -- they only belong to some church, they have not accepted Jesus as their Savior, and they are not new creations. This is the truth, and so start making changes in your way of thinking, that when you say "Christians," there must already be a division in your mind: those people that are Christians in name only, and those people that are Christians in reality, imperfect though they may be.

Seek for these true followers of Jesus, and then when you have known them, you will also be proud to call yourself one of them.

Second. True, even many real Christians are hypocrites, and sinful, because we are all just sinners saved by grace, and acquiring holiness in one's life -- becoming a new creation -- do not happen in one day, but takes a lifetime (and this also depends on the dedication of the person if he or she really wants to grow spiritually). I realize also that you are so focused on Christians, and not on our Lord Jesus Christ, the only one who is perfect. I have a question for you: Can you honestly say to me that you really know our Lord? Or are you just focusing on men and not on THE MAN?

And third. Jesus loves his sinful Bride -- unconditionally. The question now is, if you are really a true follower of his, can you love also like the way Jesus loves? Can you love also all these hypocrites, these sinful Christians, in spite of all the pains they have given you? If you can, then I embrace you, Brother, because we are the same.

Again, based only on what I have quoted, I think that we are the same in many ways.

Please read my own testimony,

At the end of my testimony I said that I had left the Catholic Church for good. The reason is that I was rejected by my community. If you want to know more about it, just send PM me.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
