Under Pressure?

Have you ever felt really stressed out, under pressure, and like your world was spinning out of control?

Well a while back my brother helped me see this in a new perspective, and it's something that I really needed to be reminded of right now. Since we are the clay and God is the Potter, He is obviously working to shape us into vessels He can use. But in order for that to happen the wheel has to be spinning.

We all know the clay needs to be soft and workable, but did you ever realize it's necessary for the wheel to be in constant motion? If everything just stops, the whole piece is ruined. And the Potter knows exactly how much pressure is needed (on the outside and the inside), in order to make us just the right shape. One thing he said that really stuck out is that the next time you feel like you're spinning out of control, just remember that with each turn, each revolution, you are passing through the Potter's hands. It's all for a purpose .. to make you something beautiful He can use.

Greetings Tess,

Beautiful analogy and explanation of being in the Potter's hand. You may also wish to consider that before we knew Christ, we were just a clump of unshapely black coal. It takes tons of pressure and heat for it to become a diamond, and that is just the beginning stage, like the "milk stage". THEN we must be shaped into something useful and beautiful by having all of our rough edges "knocked off". Something else to think about.
