"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shell be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language..And we have room but one sole loyalty and that is loyalty to the American people."

What happen since 1907? I personally would of added some words to it, but I won't right now because it was Teddy's own speech.

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life:

and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. John 3:36

The Times They Are A Changing

Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces. Daniel 7:23

The Times They Are Evil

Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 2 Timothy 4:2-4

Love Your Neighbor

Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.

Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:

And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.

Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me. Isaiah 6:5-8

Love Them True

What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.

And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Matthew 10:27

Jesus Saves

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Seriously

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:17-18

Be Blessed Beloved Of The KING

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. Romans 5:8-9

Love, Your Brother Joe

These days we are getting mixed more and more and second and third generation immigrants become local. The children grow up in the host country and take all the traits. The original blacks from Africa who were slaves are now behaving as americans and not as from their original country.

Blessings

I think every race of immigrants that comes into America seeking to make it there new home leaving their own country in hopes of doing so. If one is seeking to become a citizen in American then they should 100% assimilate the reason being is because the immigrants are the ones who wish to leave their own homeland and become a U.S. citizen. I believe it shows "unity" within our nation when all of us including immigrants within our country uses the English lanuage as the primary lanuage every other language should be secondary. All immigrants should learn the English lanuage as part of the assimulation process and I believe those who don't do this haven't made America their new home as they are still holding to the nation in which they left by not learnining our national language. In public places only English should be used as all the immigrants who do this is showing outwardly that they are accepting and embracing our culture leaving their previous country and culture for ours.

The use of the same English language in our nation by one and all shows as I said, already, a "unity" with one another in cause and purpose of mind instead of division. IMO for immigrants who do decide to make our nation their home and yet they don't learn our language but on top of that they do not teach English as the primary language to their own American born children. I'm not saying, that immigrants can't speak their native language but it should be learned as a secondary language being an American.

I also believe that all of the immigrants who leave their nations should pay taxes like all other American citizens united under the American flag.

I don't understand, candice. You don't think it's important to speak the language of one's adopted country? To assimilate and pay taxes to that country? I venture that a country comprised of smaller groups that remain separate can't be strong or united. An immigrant who remains apart from the larger society is a second class citizen, whether in the U.S. or any other country.

Well those are your words, not mine.

Immigrants do no harm by remaining bilingual, by continuing to celebrate the customs of their birth nation along with the customs of the land they now live in. The quote by TR goes beyond merely speaking english and paying taxes. If that was all it was, I wouldn't really have a problem with it.

But it expressly says that if they are 'something else also' they aren't an American at all. This I take issue with. I don't see why a person can't be a loyal American citizen and celebrate their cultural heritage at the same time.

They can. I'm talking about the groups of foreigners who live in one area, speak their native language, open businesses with signs in their native language, record phone greetings in that language, dress as they did in their native country and want their native language spoken in schools. This goes on right here in Houston. No one says they can't preserve their heritage.

I believe he was talking about allegiance. In any country, one can't retain allegiance to say, Russia, and swear allegiance to the new country as well. It just doesn't work.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
