This is how I understand the Will of God.

There are two types of "Will of God".

The "Permissive Will of God" and the "Perfect Will of God":

The Permissive will of God is non-specific will, it is the general will of God and just because it is Gods will does not mean that it will come to pass. For instance it is Gods will that all come to repentance and that no should parish. It is Gods will that we all live a godly fruitful life. Its Gods will the you be conformed to the image of his son. Its Gods will that you live a Godly and Upright life before God. It is Gods will that you sin no more. This is Gods will but we all know that not all will repent, be saved, nor live Godly nor be conformed to his sons image but yet it is still Gods will for us all. This is Gods permissive will of God its is not the specific (Perfect) will of God.

Then there is the "Perfect Will/Plan of God":

Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

The Perfect will of God is God's detailed plan for your life. Its what I like to call the who-what-when-and-where-and-how will of God. Its God specific detail Will or Plan for your life and it does not allow much room for deviations.

Examples of Gods Perfect Will or Plan would be:

Jesus to suffer and die on the cross for our sins.

Paul called to be an Apostle by the will of God

Paul's call to take the Gospel to Rome.

Peters call to feed His sheep.

Davids call to become King of Israel.

Moses to led Israel to the promise land.

Abraham's call to be the father of nations.

Jacob to be the father of Israel.

Noah's call to build an Ark.

Mary to bear the son of God.

etc...

It is Gods permissive will that I be conformed to the image of Jesus but Gods specific will is for me to take the Gospel to Nepal and to reach a small little women named Liya who is a witch doctor of her village in return her whole village will be saved.

The bible is Gods Permissive will but it is not Gods Specific will or plan for your life this can only be revealed to you by his Spirit.

God bless,

Exellent post Jedi...

God Bless,

Dave

So what if I am interested in something for a while, and then I change and decide I want to move to Colorado or something, will God allow me to do such?

Not will God "change" his will, but does God allow us the freedom of certain lifestyle changes (if they are in line with His Word) and help us to find something else?

I guess you can look at the Life of Jonah. God's perfect plan was for him to preach to the city of Nineveh but look what he did, he ran from God. God mended Jonahs ways but Jonah could have taken the easier route and did as God told him to do in the first place.

I believe when we veer off from God's plan that God will deal with us and then make corrections where needed. God will even amended his plan to get you back on course.

God bless,

We need to define God's plan and God's will.

Well hears my 2c worth.

God has to make plans to see to it that His Will is known by men.

God has to make alternate plans for the different ways people react to His Will.

Maybe that

Greetings all,

I see Jedi and I are in the same boat AGAIN. He gave some very good examples. I too believe in God's PERMISSIVE will, and God's PERFECT will. I might only vary from him in regard to:

Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

God has given man the ability to choose either good or evil. But there is an inbetween time when we just do not know, or understand what God's perfect will for us is. Usually because of immaturity, but sometimes because we just have not been enlightened of the Lord yet. This is a time of God's "permissive will", He allows us to make mistakes (read Ecclessiasties) so that we may "learn from them". This is NOT to say that we "should sin" just so we can "learn from it", but we should always attempt to get the "mind of the Lord" on what we do. We can use the example of Jesus, who I am sure awoke daily to prayer - BEFORE anything else, then oftentimes just snuck away by Himself to get in touch with the Father and pray. His conclusion is ALWAYS - "Not my will, but thine be done". God has a way of using every act we perform to His glory and our "good" for those in Christ Jesus. To those who are not the Lord's, God uses their activities to bring evil against them, all the while tugging at their heart strings to turn them around. For God wishes that NONE should perish.

So if you want your day to "go right", then pray early, pray late, pray often, for YOU are the Lord's "House of Prayer". I am reminded of:

Romans 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

Knowing the will of God

Are you confused some times? Are you worrying what to do? Is it hard to make decisions? Then you must know the will of God. This will help you understand His will.

I. Can we ask God to know His will?

A. Moses asked the Lord.

1. Exodus 33:13 Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation [is] thy people.

B. Jesus told us to ask the Father for His will to be done.

1. MAT 6:10 {Thy kingdom come. Thy <will> be done in earth, as [it is] in heaven.}

2. Would Jesus ask is to do this if it was not possible.

C. Jesus sought to do the will of His Father.

1. JOHN 5:30 {I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own <will>, but the <will> of the Father which hath sent me.}

2. John 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth o

God controls affairs in heaven and in earth. He is in charge of all that breathes, of inanimate objects, and of every circumstance. A leaf cannot move, a ripple cannot come on the water, nor can a sparrow fall without. How can the Bible and the prophet teach that the will of God is always being done when it is clearly evident that men violate His WRITTEN WORD daily? His Word is His WILL!

The will of God will be done regardless. Amen! I hope you see this. It will not only clear up much of what is seen in all ages, but it will especially help in this last age, WHEN THE WHOLE PERIOD IS SO AGAINST THE WORD."

How can the will of God be done when the whole period is going against the written Word, which Word is His will? If men are violating His written Word daily, and they are, how then can it be said that His will is being done regardless?

The written commandment "Do not kill." is broken daily. The commandments that tell us not to lie, steal, and commit adultery are broken daily. The command "Do not bear false witness." is violated daily.

What is needed is to see from the scriptures and from the message that God has both a REVEALED WILL and a SECRET WILL. It is true that His revealed will, as shown in the Scriptures, is violated daily. On the other hand, it is just as true that He has a secret will that can never be changed, not violated.

God has in His will a secret plan that He made before creation. This plan is in full progress daily. It cannot be changed or violated by man nor devil. His master plan reaches out and takes in all the ways in which men daily break His REVEALED WILL and makes all these violations conform to His SECRET WILL.

"God reveals this Word in the season, and to whom He chooses to reveal it to. He chose that before the foundation of the world. All His doings were foreknown by Him, HIDDEN FROM MAN. He just reveals them as He wills."

God made a plan before the foundation of the world. What He would do was FOREKNOWN by Him, and also that He hid this plan from man, only revealing it when and to whom He chooses. "God's will is going to be done regardless.", he made reference to His secret will, a plan made before He created.

Man breaking the revealed will of God does in no way stop, or hinder, His secret, or overall will and plan from being done. This revelation will, in the days to come, be instrumental in bringing the Bride into PERFECT FAITH. To see that He controls even those things that we deem to be evil, and makes them to conform to His secret plan, will instill in us a trust in Jesus Christ that the enemy will be unable to shake.

Prov. 16:4, "The Lord hath made all things for Himself, yea, even the wicked for the day of evil."

Isa. 45:5-7, "I am the Lord and there is none else, there is no God beside me. I girded thee, though thou hast not known Me. That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside Me. I am the Lord and there is none else. I FORM THE LIGHT, AND CREATE DARKNESS, I MAKE PEACE AND CREATE EVIL. I THE LORD DO ALL THESE THINGS."

Job 2:10, "----Shall we receive good at the hand of the Lord and not evil?"

Prov. 21:1, "The kings heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water He turneth it whither soever He wills."

Let a ruler arise that is ever so evil, yet his heart is in God's hands, and God controls his doings to fit His own secret will.

Prov. 21:30, "There is no wisdom or understanding (That can come) against the Lord." (His secret plan)

Ps. 33:10, "The council of the Lord standeth forever, the thoughts of His heart (His secret will) to all generations."

The Bible teaches us from Genesis to Revelation that God's secret will moves steadily forward, toward the conclusion of His will and plan, and that in spite of man's continual violation of His revealed will.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
