OK, lets back track for a moment.

Nebula had mentioned preparing for childbirth as a means of understanding preparing for eternity.

Well, even with all the top prenatal care and advice from veteran mothers, is a women fully prepared for the experience of child birth: or do you think there would be a few surprise moments; fact is, it is a totally new experience, regardless of all the preparation.

From my own perspective, I can assure you, nothing during my training truly prepared me for combat.

So, having never been to heaven or having experienced eternity, I'm certain there is nothing on this earth that will prepare me for that experience.

It is a total unknown to me presently.

The only thing I do know about it is that I will be with my Lord and Savior, and that is enough to quell any fear.

OK, what I meant by prepare in this case was:

Re-budgeting one's income to adjust for the added expenses.

Buying a crib.

Buying a stroller and other baby carriers.

Stocking up on diapers.

Buying and collecting baby clothes, baby blanket, pacifier, burp cloth, bibs, baby bottles, etc.

Reading some books or watching videos on baby care, or collect advice from other parents on how to do so.

Things like that prepare your for the baby.

No, you can never be prepared for the unknown. But would you not prepare yourself with the known (what I mentioned above)?

Jesus told us to store up our treasures in Heaven. Would you not consider that, in a sense, preparing for eternity?

It is true we do not know everything about eternity and were not suppose to know everything, what we don't know will be revealed to us when we get there. However God has revealed to us what we must know and do to prepare for eternity, God has given us a instruction manual called the Holy Bible, some of those instructions have been posted in past post.

It is better for a person to know something on how to prepare for eternity, then it is to know nothing. If a person knows nothing or refuses to listen to God's word, where do you think that person may spend eternity?

You only get one guess.

So, because I disagree with you on the definition of the word prepare you threaten me with eternal damnation.

You infer that I'm being disobedient to God's Holy Word. I find that pretty arrogant.

Let me ask you this, by laying up your treasures in heaven , are you attempting to better your eternal stay, to cause your eternal life to be better than the next; Is that what you are working towards?

Eternal life is granted to all, how we live that eternal life is determined by our choice to receive the Gift or to reject it.

Once we have accepted His Gift, we are then instructed how to conduct ourselves, not so that our eternal life can be made better, but so that those around us can see and be drawn and be saved.

Why do you suppose Jesus told us to store up treasure in Heaven?

Eternal life is granted to all, how we live that eternal life is determined by our choice to receive the Gift or to reject it.

There is more to eternal life than where you end up (Heaven or Hell).

Once we have accepted His Gift, we are then instructed how to conduct ourselves, not so that our eternal life can be made better, but so that those around us can see and be drawn and be saved.

With so many temptations to pull us away from the Lord and godliness, considering the eternal outcome to our personal selves of our individual choices sometimes help us overcome the temptations to please the flesh.

It really isn't selfish to focus on eternity like this, because when I consider rewards in Heaven, I'm not thinking possessions in Heaven but how much closer I am to the Lord.

Even still, choosing what is best to do for my eternal life is still very hard at times, despite looking at it that way.

That's why I think of it as a boost rather than selfishness, because you have to be unselfish to crucify that flesh!

To be honest with you Hunterpoet, my post wasn't directed to you and I don't see anywhere in that post that could even show that it was. I was referring to people in general, only God can judge us individually and I'm not sitting in his seat.

What is the purpose of life?

To love and trust in Yeshua, and to love each other as He loves us!

To fear God and to obey His commandments!

1 John 3:23 This is his command: that we are to trust in the person and power of his Son Yeshua the Messiah and to keep loving one another, just as he commanded us. 24 Those who obey his commands remain united with him and he with them. Here is how we know that he remains united with us: by the Spirit whom he gave us.

This is off topic, but this is something I've run into in the past.

When you reply to someone's post, they are going to naturally assume that you're talking to them. If you're not replying to anything that individual said, don't reply to that post. If you want to reply to something written in the post but not specifically to that individual, hit the reply button at the bottom of the page. If you're referring to people in general, it's a good idea to put that out there. By doing that, you're avoiding any misunderstandings that may come up.

Just a thought.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
