Bob, with all due respect complacency has nothing to do with that. My "child-like" fear and respect has been replaced with a more mature love and understanding for the divine will and way of God.

My motives are in the right place with God Bob. We all stumble and make mistakes and sin now and then. Who doesn't? What is important is that we realize our error, seek God's guidance and forgiveness and try not to let it happen again.

I believe you misunderstood what I was saying. When a person is first saved, it does give you a Euphoria and it's new and it's fresh and powerful. When I was first saved Bob, I was too fearful of God and I learned that I didn't have to fear Him as much as I did when I was first saved, but I do fear Him in the right way.

I disagree Kat - it is complacency brought on by a prideful and self righteous heart. I do not recall targeting my post towards you however....and you need not try to convince me of anything - it's between you and God. I was only speaking from personal experience...VERY personal experience. As the Psalm I posted says "Search me O God and know my heart "...God knows us better than anyone, including ourselves. We can't look to anyone else for absolution but Him. We are responsible to submit and humble ourselves before Him and admit our faults. I was guilty of it for the longest time....lived a life of lies - telling myself that all was fine.....it wasn't. God had to break me down and completely rebuild me - which He's still in the process of doing....but one thing I've found ? That "Euphoric feeling" you spoke of ? I never experienced it until I came clean with God....and I mean REALLY came clean. And I've also found that it doesn't have to be a "honeymoon" experience....it can be a part of your everyday life when you submit to the convictions of the Holy Spirit......

Just offering my perspective is all here Kat - not meant to say your heart isn't right with God....that's not my place.

God bless,

Bob

BOB, your children, at the point that they become aware of their surroundings, think of you as the wisest, strongest, most learned man they know. They have "a child-like" faith in you. They don't know the history of your life. They don't know the trials and tribulations that you went through to become the Father that you are to them.

As they grow older and you teach them, based upon your experiences, life and it's consequences, they have a much deeper respect for you, based upon their understanding of what you went through.

So it is with Christians. When an unsaved person first accepts Jesus, they have a "child-like" faith in God. You don't become a Christian with a deep understanding of God already in your mind. It has to be learned and the learning process makes one more mature.

This is what I was talking about or referring to, when I spoke of maturing. just as your children have learned more about you, Christians learn more about God as they go along, but the "Euphoria" that I was speaking of also matures.

The "Euphoria" changes. It becomes deeper and more thorough, because unlike the beginning of our acceptance of God, the feeling of euphoria changes as our understanding of God deepens.

Also the "Euphoria" that I spoke of, is the Holy Spirit and He dwells in me and I have experienced that "euphoria" (the Holy Spirit) when I pray, when I go into my prayer closet or just if I feel especially blessed by something that is said about God or by a song that I hear that blesses my heart. The Holy Spirit is ALWAYS there for us, it's just that we feel the Holy Spirit in our hearts more at some times than others.

Blessings,

Kat

I think I may have confused everybody here. :P I don't think you are confused at all Shadow. Your understanding of the Lord and what it means to fear the Lord is very deep.

As our walk with the Lord grows, we come to know the Lord better, is what I was trying to say. It says in the Bible, "the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom" and don't you and I feel like PHD's sometimes?

In Christ,

Ecclesiastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, For this is man's all. 14 For God will bring every work into judgment, Including every secret thing, Whether good or evil.

In His Love,

Do i fear the God? of course i do .We hear a lot of talk about the love of God , he is the same yesterday today and tomorrow. To me that says he is still the God who taught Pharoah a terrible lesson destroyed all life [except Noah and family] with water.Vengence is mine says the Lord.i will repay. He does love us but will condem us to hell if we dont love him and serve him.we all need to remember this as we go about our days. Many people think that God wont do this because he is a God of love.I just hpoe they wake up before it is too late.

Ok, let me clarify myself here. I have a clear understanding of the Word of God and what it means to fear the Lord and as a Christian, I DO fear Him. I take every scripture from the Bible very seriously. I am God's child. I am fearfully and wonderfully made by him, like all Christians here and I have accepted Jesus as my personal Savior and realize the consequences of walking in disobedience to His Word. I believe we should strive to keep child-like faith in our walk with the Lord, but there are times when we have low points, valleys that we go through that drains us of everything we have and spiritually sucks us dry. That's when we ask for help, for guidance, encouragement and support from our pastor or a brother or sister in Christ and hopefully, we will get it. That's when our child-like faith is tested. So it isn't always easy to keep that child-like faith and if anyone here has never ever had a valley or a low point that they've been through that have tested their faith, whether it's child-like or not, then you should feel especially blessed that that has not happened to you. No matter what I'm going through, I know that the Lord is an awesome God and greatly to be feared.

Blessings to all,

Kat

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
