SAVED or ........SAVED then LOST?

It's not my salvation that I think is in danger dear Wordsower,my trust is 100% in JESUS.

But don't say anything is O.K.

The Bible says,

Therefore,brothers we have an obligation-but it is not to the sinful nature to live according to it.For if you live according to the sinful nature,you will die;but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body,you will live,because those who are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God.

There are a few on this board who say they have accepted Jesus as their Saviour,still keeping idols which they call statues and pray to so called saints.

Kindly tell me ,are these led by the Spirit of God?

Jude24..."Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,"

He will keep me from falling, for now I am indwelt by the Holy Spirit, which has re-birthed me spiritually into His creation.  The NT has a NEW COVENANT with us, different from the OT, in that we are a new creature!

Gal6:15..."For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, BUT A NEW CREATURE."

jer7...those you talk about who keep idols and pray to saints DON"T believe once saved always saved.

I am certainly not saying that anything is ok.  My point was that when you try to put faith in yourself to be "good" you will be doing a lot of doing just for the sake of doing it.  If you put your faith in Jesus, on the other hand, He will do the doing through you and you will WANT to do it instead of HAVING to do it.

As for those who have idols and whatever else they have, everyone is on their own individual walk with God and He deals with them on issues that He needs to bring them closer to Him.  Doesn't mean their any less saved than anyone who "acts" perfect.  I prefer to let Him be the judge. :thumb:

Greetings Blind.....So....if he is able, He might not?  WHY? After such a sacrifice, one that paid ALL my sin debt, would He "let me go"? In Him I am covered by His blood, re-birthed into a child of God, by the baptism of the Holy spirit.

AND.....how much obedience is enuff??   PERFECTION is what it takes.

Blind...are you perfect?  Where is the line that one will cross to "loose" your salvation?

If you were saved...and then crossed that "imaginary" line....and ended up in hell......THEN WHAT WERE YOU EVER SAVED FROM TO BEGIN WITH?

VERILY.....hear the Word of God on this....1John5:13

"These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may KNOW that ye HAVE eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the son of God."

You may trust totally in His work, Jesus did it all, believe in Him.

You HAVE and you KNOW...present tense.

Where does scripture say that you become UN-RE-BORN?

We OBEY, because this is our fruit of BEING SAVED. Matt13:8.

WE PERSEVERE, because He works IN us..Phil2:13.

A TRULY saved saint will REMAIN a TRULY saved saint.

BECAUSE...we OVERCOME

2John5:4..."For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world:  and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith...(5)...Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?"

Rev3:5..."He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment;  AND I WILL NOT BLOT OUT HIS NAME OUT OF THE BOOK OF LIFE, but will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels."

It is the RE-BIRTH that must be understood in the being once saved always saved, you are only born of God ONCE.

John3;3..."Jesus answered, Verily, Verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."

Notice Jesus didn't say "born again and again and again"....etc.

It a guarrenteed deal...you believe in Him...and He immediately gives you eternal life!  Praise God!!

If everything was so easy,why would Jesus say,"Narrow is the gate and narrow is the path that leads to eternal life"?

There are many who accept Jesus as their Lord and Saviour and then after sometime go back to their worldly ways-sexual immorality and such things.Do you think in their unrepentant state,God will give them etenal life?

How many christians do you think there are in this world?  Narrow is the gate doesn't seem so narrow if you live in a free country.

See,you guys don't understand .It's not the works that one does after getting saved that I am placing emphasis on.

Not by works....I know that.

But we have to live a holy life.Those who do not live a holy life or try to live (for we are learning day by day)God cannot on the basis of His Word allow into heaven.

The Bible says,

"Be holy for I am holy"

not "a holier than thou attitude",but purity in heart.

Narrow gate and narrow path has nothing to do with free country or others.Jesus is talking of the Word of God  here,wordsower.
