Thanks so much Bob, Laura and Debbie. Now - for a praise report.....thanks to you wonderful brothers and sisters in the Lord.

Laura -  I did a search, and found an AG church only about 10 minutes away from me. I plan to go there tomorrow, and will let you know. How can I thank you enough?

Debbie - I live in Georgia now, so we are "Southern sisters" in the Lord.

Bob - you hit the nail on the head, and I would like to quote you, if it's OK, when people ask me the same question. You might find your name and quotations in "Bartlett's Book of Quotations".......

Thanks so much for being there for me.  You are all blessings from the Lord.....Now I can sing and dance for joy  tonight -  knowing there is Spirit-filled church just down the road.

AMEN sister! So glad to hear it! PLEASE keep us informed! Glad you came by now huh ? Remember, there are no "coincidences" when it comes to things like this!

Romans 8:28

28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Go in His peace,

Bob

Thanks so much for your encouragement, Called, Bob and Dave. You are right - there are no coincidences with God - and I feel truly blessed that He has led me to this wonderful group of believers. He always goes above and beyond what our desires are, and I can't begin to tell you how grateful I am for your input. God bless you all!

Steve,

a Spirit filled church is one that is alive and growing, one that does not dampen the Spirit of God from doing what He does best.....

A Spirit filled church is one that loves God above all else, even self.....

a Spirit filled church is not a group of gossiping, angry, gripping, back stabbing people, that are out for themselves....

a Spirit filled church is not an exclusive country club, for members only....

a Spirit filled church does not choose who can and who can not be a member......

a Spirit filled church is one that Honors God in all things they do and say.....

and much much much more.....

but then again, Steve, you already knew that....

That's a pretty good summary. Can I add some?

A spirit-filled church does not have sleeping members in the pews.

A spirit-filled church doesn't sing with a sad face.

A spirit filled church means you can come in a suit or a bathing suit, we'll love ya anyways.

At least mine!

Heidi,

check outthe Yellow pages.... then start visiting the ones that you might be more familure with......

keep in mind.....

you may have been in a Southern Baptist church all your life, but not all Southern Baptist churchs are the same..... or maybe an AoG, and there again, one AoG might be more on fire for God then the next one only a few blocks away...... there are even Presbyterian churches that are filled so much that there has been people jumping for joy and raising their hands and shouting a hardy "AMEN, BROTHER, AMEN" ( 1st presby, Honolulu )...... visit them, concentrat and pray about each and every one you visit..... and ask the Lord where He wants you......

remember, the Lord may want you in a church that is on the decline, so that some one can bring life back into it....

The Lord may have you going way way beyond any comfort zone you have ever known.... spend time with the Lord to find where He wants you......

Blessings to you....

your friend, and brother...

mike

ps:

the fellowship I am a member of has an airline pilot that drives for 1.5 hours to come to church, and shows up in shorts.....

we have people in cutoffs to three piece suites...... we have long hair on guys to no hair on guys ( and had a lady that had no hair, until her cancer disappeared )

we have Baptist sitting next to presbyterians who are neighbors to those from the methodist, and then we have Navajo, next to Iowa and Cherokee next to African, who sit with whom ever they choose.... we have a full congregation of people from all manner of life, young and old..... the youth sit and take up about 1/6 of the pews ( just the teens ).... the pastor jokes that we have a catholic section which is right next to the baptist section and the methodist are by the holy rollers and.......

you get the idea.......

one of my best friends, has hair to his shoulder blades, and is a turned on fired up God Fearing, God Loving, Evangelizing, Street Preaching, Saved by the skin of his teeth, loving everyone all the time guy..... he was one of the biggest drug dealers in the area.... until the Lord got ahold of him while he was sitting on a radio tower with high powered guns gettin ready to defend himself against the police.... after he spent his time, he brought his arresting officer to the Lord and well, he knows he can never ever think about taking off his armor.... He Is In Battle... we all are in battle...

if we are not in battle, we are prisoners of war......

Heidi,

That is wonderful that you did find a church for the morning, near where you live. Praise the Lord!

Enjoy the day! God bless.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
