Great thread-- Can I mention a few?

Psalm 139

23 Search me, O God, and know my heart;

test me and know my anxious thoughts.

24 See if there is any offensive way in me,

and lead me in the way everlasting.

And this one is a new one for me- a favorite of many on the boards :rolleyes: . It keeps me in check, when my mind starts to "wander"

Hebrews 12

2Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

1 Thessalonians 5

16Be joyful always; 17pray continually; 18give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

those are a few of that carry me as well! :il:

"I will never fail you nor forsake you." 6 Hence we can confidently say, "The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid; what can man do to me?" Heb 13:5-6

30 Even youths shall faint and be weary,

and young men shall fall exhausted;

31 but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength,

they shall mount up with wings like eagles,

they shall run and not be weary,

they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:30-31 (RSV) :il:

Let's see...when I was one my holy-book rampage last summer, I kept a notebook with the ones I really liked. Here we are:

Deuteronomy 10:19

"Love ye therefore the stranger: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt."

Psalms 82:3-4

"Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.

Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked."

Proverbs 3:3 & 13

"Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart...Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding."

Ooh, and Ecclesiastes 3:1-8. I have a big ol' collage I made somewhere with that on it.

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace."

Beyond that, the entire Metta Sutta.

"This is what should be done By one who is skilled in goodness,

And who knows the path of peace: Let them be able and upright,

Straightforward and gentle in speech. Humble and not conceited,

Contented and easily satisfied Unburdened with duties and frugal in their ways.

Peaceful and calm, and wise and skilful, Not proud and demanding in nature.

Let them not do the slightest thing That the wise would later reprove.

Wishing: in gladness and in safety, May all beings be at ease.

Whatever living beings there may be; Whether they are weak or strong, omitting none,

The great or the mighty, medium, short or small, The seen and the unseen,

Those living near and far away, Those born and to-be-born --

May all beings be at ease! Let none deceive another, or despise any being in any way

Let none through anger or ill-will Wish harm upon another.

Even as a mother protects with her life Her child, her only child,

So with a boundless heart Should one cherish all living beings;

Radiating kindness over the entire world: Spreading upwards to the skies,

And downwards to the depths; Outwards and unbounded,

Freed from hatred and ill-will. Whether standing or walking, seated or lying down,

Free from drowsiness, One should sustain this recollection.

This is said to be the sublime abiding. By not holding to fixed views,

The true-hearted one, having clarity of vision, Being freed from all sense desires,

Is not born again into this world. "

I kind of need a reminder sometimes to be patient with people, so I keep a copy in my wallet.

Just a side note. All who have posted quotes from the NIV & NASB need to give credit to the publishers for they are copyrighted. Any other copyrighted versions should be given credit also.

Sometimes I do not remember any scriptures, but I feel I am in His Word, and therefore apart of HIs Word, and moved by His Word, and then when God reminds me through His Spirit what Words I need to know, in words, then I can have more knowledge, and words, from the Word being in me. Depending on the situation. For the most part I think about the teachings on how to be righteous, how to follow Christ, and Love God, and others as I love myself, reconizing my total dependency on God through Jesus Christ.

Different scriptures stay with me at different times of my life. Right now it is a scripture from Chronicles. But, Joshua 1:8 and Psalm 25:4 have always been part of me.

Joshua 1:8

This book of the Law shall not depart from my mouth, but I will meditate upon it day and night, and when I purpose to do all that is according to it, then I will find my way prosperous, and have good success in life.

Psalm 25:4

Show me Your path O Lord, and teach me Your ways.

Blessings

The verse that stays with me most is the one I decided to use for my signiture here on these boards. Its Jeremiah 33:3 as you can see. It always encourages me to know that God wants us to call upon Him and that He desires to show us great and mighty things. WOW :oww: Great and mighty things which we know not of! It's amazing to me that God would reveal such things to us, mere men. Ooohh the mercies of Our Father.

In Him,

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

      Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

      This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
