I stopped watching her a long time ago because it was reported that a lot of her family live very poor lives and she refuse to help them. That a lone didn't do it. It was a off handed remark she made about it. This doesn't surprise me at all.

God Bless You

Unfortunately thousands of people revere her as some kind of icon of morality, but they are being royally deceived. She has been living common law for years now, and why they don't just get married is quite a mystery. She has advice for everyone else but she doesn't take it herself. Between her and Dr. Phil her prot

i can't speak for the dr. phil show, although i'd be happy to look into it and find out how much off camera time is spent with the individuals. clearly, in many of the cases, it is not limited to the segment being filmed. this is probably the exception and not the rule, though. but... i have a cousin who recently was a guest on his show (hasn't aired yet), for a problem that i forget the name of, but it involves pulling out your eyelashes and stuff. i can find out from her if there's any pre or post show counseling. i will say that i like dr. phil, and think he has very valuable advice many times.... i've got one of his books. unfortunately, counseling is not a one size fits all prospect, which is essentially what his show boils down to.

as for talk shows in general, i do have some first hand knowledge of that, and the only thing you're incorrect about is the one hour thing. taping generally takes three to four hours. they edit out the majority of the film to fit into a one hour segment.

off screen coaching absolutely goes on, and is designed specifically to ruffle feathers to add to the sensationalism, which of course equals better ratings.

and oprah? ugh. i think i already posted my opinion of her.

LadyC I would be interested in knowing about the follow-ups.I know some of them do some follow-up but for how long and what quality? Some of them need some intense, long term therapy and I wonder if they arrange that. Also giving blanket advice to everybody in TV is not a good idea, because as you say not everyone is the same. I just couldn't see myself going on TV in front of millions of people and airing all my personal problems, its just not a healthy format to get counseling. But there are lots out there that do, thats why the shows are so popular. I have sat in on a couple of Talk/Variety shows when I lived in Vancouver and yes it was a 3 hour taping because they did 3 shows in an afternoon. It used to be a really big show here across Canada called the Alan Thicke show. I did get a chance to meet Howie Mandel, he was very cool.

There will be a lot of good people in Hell. Humanism will be one of the main deceptive factors in their lives.

i'll see what i can find out regarding follow-ups with dr. phil. i can tell you that montel williams is all talk when it comes to that. because of the website i run and the work i do, i'm frequently called by them to help them find guests, or to appear as part of their panel of experts. in fact, i got a fed ex from them two days ago asking me to help them out. not really interested, been there done that with montel, and my recommendation is that nobody EVER trust that show. there was a couple that appeared on the show the only time i ever dealt with them, and they were promised "after-care" prior to taping... and then nothing. absolutely nothing. and unfortunately, they were the most manipulated on the show too. they pulled all sorts of hi-jinx on that poor couple, bringing on family members that montel's staff said would not be there, doing the backstage coaching to rile them up, etc. the couple ended up divorced within less than a year, and i honestly believe that the montel show played a significant part in that.

now when i work with the media, i stick to the news format shows rather than the entertainment "psychobabble" shows.

anyway, that was pretty much off topic, wasn't it? back to oprah... i don't know about her salvation, but i do know that she appears lukewarm at best!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
