I think the problem in the US and the UK (and Europe for that matter) is that we as Westerners do not understand and have not woken up to what is happening in the heart of our countries, and how, like the hemlock that Socrates took, the poison of Islam in all its forms, is creeping into our society until it can kill off every last vestige of so-called democratic freedom that we possess.

The OP gave an example of just what sort of behaviour is acceptable/endorsed/encouraged under Sharia Law, in particular how it demeans the status/equality of a woman, and lowers her worth to that of a piece of chattel over which men can have control and treat in any manner they think fit....and there is no realistic justice in this system to which she can appeal.

Part of the trouble/dilemma is that we tend to think of our societies as basically Christian, and whereas that might have been true at various times in the past, it no longer holds true as the doctines of Atheism and Secular Humanism have inadvertently paved the way for Islam to not just creep in, but almost to be welcomed with open arms, and protected under the definition of civil liberties and freedom of religion...it is not recognised for what it is, or what it's intent is....we cannot see that we are blindly hatching a cuckoo that wants to throw all others out of the nest.

If our nations understood that National Security, Democracy and our way of life was under threat, they would not be so accomodating, but then our nations have embraced and justified the genocide of the unborn, the promotion of pornography, the fiasco of same sex marriages and the need to appease oil rich Moslem nations no matter what the cost.

I don't know if there is a solution politically, but one thing I do know is that we should never give up the fight to do what is right and try and inform those in authority of what is going on, and at the same time use this as an opportunity to reach out to Moslems, because even if we have some slight problems here, if we tried to do it in their countries, we would be beaten, imprisoned or killed....Satan wants to use it as a threat to demoralise and overwhelm us, but I believe we can go on the offensive and reach out to them with the love of Jesus....then they can return to their countries and evangelise....it is as though G-d is opening up a way...Satan intends it for evil, but He can use it for good.
