You can't pray in school, but it is acceptable to hand out condoms in school.

You can't pray in school, but teaching homosexuality in school is acceptable.

You can't pray in school, but it is acceptable to teach about the New Age religion.

You can't pray in school, but it is considered free speech in school to curse God in class.

You can't pray in school, but teaching students that abortion is a method of family planning is acceptable.

Take God out of the classroom, and you have a classroom that has no moral values. And the school administrators wonder why violence, teenage pregnancy, and the lack of respect for any authority is running rampant in schools today.

Teach your children to pray, especially in school, because they will need it in their lives.

Great message! Public schools are a very scary and confusing place to be for kids trying to live a Christian life. My wife and I have had our 10 year old in private Christian school every year except this one and he is very unhappy about being at a public school. He comes home everyday saying how mean the kids and teachers are and how the kids use profanity all the time.

He is being exposed to an non-Christian environment 8 hours a day and than when he comes home it's hard for him to just forget what he was surrounded by all day. We are desperately trying to get him back in Christian school! I can't imagine at his age hearing about God at night with us and at Sunday school and than hearing the complete opposite all week at school. How confusing it must be for him and all the other Christian kids in his shoes.

-Just wanted to share my experience with the same situation.

This is the very reason our youth is in trouble...Look what all has happened since God was removed from you schools....

That truly is awesome Kelli. You would think schools would think twice about taking God out of the schools because of school shootings nowadays and things like that happening. I know that if I were still in school now, I wouldn't want to start the day off without saying a prayer and the pledge of allegiance. Maybe God is removing His shield of protection around these schools because the schools are removing these things.

Sad how teachers aren't informed on the laws.

Praise God for such a beautiful song, your precious child and your braveness!

I have worked in public schools in Australia with some terrific teachers, but have found that it really can vary, depending on which teacher you get, as to the quality of pastoral care for the children.

After several years in the state system, we recently started sending our children to a Christian school. The children seem much happier and we feel more relaxed about them being there. We've found the pastoral care from a Christian perspective is much more consistent; not so much"potluck" as it was before.

I believe the problems are as much in the system as with any individual. That political correctness has, in some ways, squeezed faith almost out of the system.

I do have a heart for social justice issues and this was not an easy decision for our change of schooling, but we felt it was important for our children. That is not to say this is the choice for all.

This is a very difficult issue and praise God that he has solutions for all of us.

Koppen,

Thank you so much for sharing the story about your friend and her child. It shows me that we are truly "the light of the world", and sometimes that witness falls upon even our little ones who we might think are too young to handle the burden. The song the Lord gave your friend, and the tune it was set to, are certainly examples of the Lord's ability to give even the youngest among us the tools with which we can go forth in the world in Christ.

Our job as christians is to give our children the Truth and to see that it is our life, not merely lip service. These children will carry that forth into their classrooms thereby becoming a "light" unto those teachers and children who don't know that Truth.

Trust the Lord that He will use this child to propagate His Word, and bless your friend that she stood firm in the Lord and gave her children the knowledge and tools to speak to a classrom that needed to see this kind of faith and hear this Truth.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
