Hey Frog,

Have you been on the bad end of "christian" judgementalism or are you relying on a stereotype?

In the history of christendom you can find much worse things than treating tax collectors badly...but we're human too, ya know?

We all make mistakes. I apologize for anyone who has wronged you in the Name of my Lord.

I hope you get better treatment here.

So...did you come here to start a fight or do you want to talk about it??

I don't envy you guys your job as moderators, but where is the line?

I saw a post last night, and it's certainly not unique in this board, where the subject was something about "liberals", and Shadow (?) something or other posted cartoon artwork that showed someone getting hit with a pie - the caption being, "take that you liberal". As moderators of a christian site, don't you have some responsibility to hold christians to a standard of the Word? Wouldn't that have seemed offensive even to the least of us as christians? It made me think of Jesus being dragged through the streets on the way to being crucified and someone throwing a pie in His face. C'mon - aren't you as moderators supposed to ask christians to conform to the very lowest form of christianity - that being the understanding that we all believe in Jesus but some may not hold exactly the same view of scripture of others and none has total truth.

I wonder sometimes if you don't allow or even condone something less than Truth in order to increase your membership. How else could one explain the excoriation of other christians that you allow when one member disagrees with another? I just had a private email from one member (River) whom I believe is a long-term member that has been so hurt and so offended by the attacks on his own christianity and patriotisom by other members of the board that have attacked his views as anti-christian or unpatrotic, or "liberal" that he wrote me he is taking time away from the board in order to try and gain some respective of his position in the Lord.

This is not right! At the very least we should love one another! And when you, as moderators of these sights, see people being flayed for diverse opinions, I believe you have an obligation to step in and remind people that as brothers and sisters in Christ we have the right to have differing opinions without being labeled infidels, "liberals" (akin to the Anti-Christ in this spot)) or traitors to the USA or non-believers.

Come on - if you are moderators - at least work to stop these personal attacks against brothers and sisters by other brothers and sisters. I could expect this from non-believers, but it is not acceptable from the body of Christ.

Do something! Intervene! Set the most basic christian rules for how we address one another. This place is supposed to be the safe haven for christians to talk to one another - not a place where we bare our souls to the unsaved heathens who reject our Lord. It is disgusting to me that you allow this kind of flaying of the souls of those who love the Lord without ANY intervention. When I read the posts, I am reminded of the people who spit upon Jesus as he carried his cross to Golgatha. What was his crime? That he presented a message that made these people uncomfortable, that they didn't want to hear, that they despised because it didn't conform to what they believed. And so christians can tune in here, to this supposedly christian chat line and see messages spewing hate and prejudice and pies in the face against people that disagree with the message or challenge their beliefs - and are treated as the enemy. Please - you started this place, you are the moderators - have you no responsiblity in the Lord - have you no shame - have you no responsibility?????

Dear larryt,

This is just my opinion. You need not accept it if you disagree with it. DISCLAIMER: I am not a christian.

Thank you for your response and your clarification. So you think the christians of old treated taxcollectors and pagans with love and respect? I will have to look into that.

Now for your tangential point: I'm sure at some point in my life, I have lied. Of course I try not to, but I am not infallible. As an unbeliever, I do not believe in God. If I do not believe in God, I surely do not believe I owe anything to God.

Regards,

UndecidedFrog

PS: I do not get into loan situations where I do not have the resources to pay my debts.

I can only speak for myself and those who I know personally. I conveighed what I understand about the scriptures.

You see, I just wrote the leadership about this very problem. And I appreciate the fact that you recognize the problem and have addressed it. However, note the reverence that has been applied to it here. This person, LCPGuy, makes of a joke of that which you write with his little cartoon and others pick it up, with tongue in cheek, saying that they understand what you're saying by "Damn" it feels so good to just chuck it to these people that disagree with us. THIS DOES NOT REPRESENT THE JESUS THAT DIED ON THE CROSS FOR US. These people need to understand that you are serious in what you say - that they sound like frat boys with too much beer saying , "yeah right, how's this for an answer?" And they are so far away from the Lord Jesus and his love and his sacrifice that one wonders where they are, what they know, and does the sacrifice of His life mean anything at all to them? This is SICK!

P.S.

I'm locking this now. The point was to show how we in the Church(Body of Christ) should seek conflict resolution.

Too many rabbit trails now.

Peace,

Dave

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
