But the government that is on His shoulder is the 'key of the House of David' it is the key that is on HIs shoulder. Isaiah 22:22

22 The key of the house of David

I will lay on his shoulder;

So he shall open, and no one shall shut;

And he shall shut, and no one shall open.

No where in the Bible is it mentioned that Jesus wears an ephod though He is a priest after the order of Melchizedek.

A friend who is interested in keys and has a vast collection of them was at the British museum and saw the keys from that era and had a duplicate made. Those keys were so large and heavy that they were placed upon the shoulder. That is the key of government - the Key of the House of David. That is the symbol of authority that Jesus has as the direct descendant of David. That is the key that permits Him to open and none shall shut and shut and none shall open.

Job 12:14--Behold, he breaketh down, and it cannot be built again: he shutteth up a man, and there can be no opening.

Jesus was our High Priest but he never wore the priest garments neither did he minister when it came dealing with the work of the sacrifices so I agree Jesus never wore an ephod. God spoke to the priest through the ephod but the prtesthood and the sacrifisal offerings were being done away with during Christ's sacrifice on the cross as the Lord's anger was appeased. The blood of bulls and goats could never make us holy as they had to be continually offered up daily. But Jesus was the sacrifice the one spotless lamb without sin who died once for all and sprinkled his own blood on the mercy seat as he ever liveth and makes intercession for us. In the last days God is speaking to us through the Lord Jesus Christ and no longer through the ephod to the priesthood.

Jesus holds the keys to death, hell and the grave as Satan no longer holds them as Jesus triumped over principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly triumping over them in it. Jesus took our record of sins out of the way, nailing them to the cross made holy by the sprinkling of our conscience from dead works to serve the living God. Jesus was the firstfruits from the ressurection of the dead and all of the saints shall arise from the dead just as Jesus did.

However, I do fail to see or understand your comment, "it is the key that is upon his shoulder." I don't see how the government shall be upon his shoulder be related to the "keys" on his shoulder Can you explain more in detail what your meaning is concerning government vs. keys as they are so different from one another ?......thanks

As Isaiah said in 22:22 - The key of the House of David I will lay upon His shoulder. Christ, is the next King of Israel. He is the son of David. He has the key to the coming kingdom, He shall sit on His father David's throne. God has and will give to Him all authority in Heaven and on earth. That is the government (key) that shall be laid upon His shoulder.

All good comments, and I had never thought about the "key" in that way either.

That is what is so wonderful about the bible.

The more you mine it, the more gold you find, and the "richer" you become.

I agree Fez the "key" on His shoulder is agreat "revelation" that Littlelambseativy shared with us. I knew our Lord does have a kingdom as he has translated us from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of light and the kingdom of God is within us. Heck, I even knew there were gates to his kingdom as the narrow road leads to the gates of the city but it never dawned on me the doors of his could be locked and unlocked. But in the 1000 years of Peace the Millenial Reign our Lord will set up his Kingdom and the saints will rule and reign with Christ during those years of peace all of the nations in the world will be judged and governed by Christ. I can see nobody will be able to get inside or go outside of the kingdom of Christ during the millenial reign unless the gates are opened by the authority of the King of kings and Lord of lords being Christ Jesus Our Lord and Saviour. With "keys" comes "authority" which King Jesus will have all "authority to rule and reign the nations during the 1000 years of peace as he will set up his kingdom on earth.

There are many gold nuggets in the bible as you've already said and they do make us the more richer in the Lord. :amen:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

      Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

      This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
