If you test something and decide for yourself, what happens with faith?

It solidifies your faith and makes it stronger. How can you tell someone about Jesus if you are not really convinced yourself that he is real.

Faith is necessitated by ignorance. Why would you want to solidify it?

What are you being convinced by? By what you don't know? By what someone else tells you is true?

In the Bible Jesus healed the sick, brought the dead back to life. If you could do that, hey that'd be very convincing in my book.

If all one has is faith without personal knowledge and experience, that's a little hard to trust in don't you think?

If the only thing you are relying on is faith you can't really tell anybody anything that you actual know of. You wouldn't even know if you are misleading them because you don't know. You only have faith that something is true. You'd be asking others to have faith in something that is a matter of your own ignorance.

Because I've prayed for things and had them happen right before my eyes....... I've done rituals and had demons manifest right before my eyes in the flesh and had Jesus through the Holy Spirit save me from them and myself..... i've seen X-rays of a little girl that had an extra kidney that was not hooked up to her bladder that disappeared when her church laid hands on her and pray for her...... My faith is solid as granet because I don't have to take anyone's word for who Jesus is..... He lives in my body through the Spirit and we converse daily.

If you don't have that in your life and are just going on hope, we should talk, for there is much that the Holy Spirit needs to teach you. Remember that the question I was answering was how testing something helps your faith. When you see things like this happen, you can better trust and believe that Jesus will do the other things that he says will happen.

Problem i've seen in this world is that most people I know are really afraid to step out in faith...... which is basically testing your faith

You mean the word faith in a strange way. If it is something you've experienced then it's that/those experiences you are relying on, not faith.

Faith and hope have about the same meaning. For example "I have faith my spouse won't cheat on me." "I hope my spouse won't cheat on me." I don't see a big difference there. However you seem to think faith has something hope does not.

Faith, hope, trust can usually be used interchangeably.

Anyway the point was that if you test something for yourself and find it works you are relying more on your own experiences and less on faith. This seems to be exactly what you are doing but say it makes your faith more solid whereas it should actually be making your knowledge more solid.

I think a person who speaks from knowledge gained by their personal experience much more convincing then someone relying more on faith. Maybe not absolutely convincing but at least it carries more weight.

Wrong! Christians do have personal experience and EVIDENCE. This is especially so for someone who has been a Christian for any length of time. First, we have the Holy Spirit of God living in our hearts. Second, we have a personal and daily relationship with God that we KNOW and FEEL. We don't believe in or have faith in Jesus Christ out of ignorance - just the OPPOSITE. Faith is necessary for new Christians because God is not in the business of offering proof to each individual before they will believe. There was a time of many signs and wonders, but most still rejected Jesus Christ, and they had what you're asking for. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God, and it's MORE THAN ENOUGH. Christians aren't misleading anyone when we talk about our Living Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. He is Absolute Reality to us and can be for you. We do have personal knowledge and experience, and you can also.

John 20:27-31 KJV Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. 28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. 29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. 30 And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: 31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

That is not really true. Faith is based on evidence. Faith is neither blind nor ignorant regardless of what context you are speaking of.

If the only thing you are relying on is faith you can't really tell anybody anything that you actual know of.

The testimony of the first apostles was not based on faith, but on first hand experience. Unlike those of other religions who die for what they believe, the apostles were willing to die for what they knew pertaining to the resurrection of Jesus.

Faith and hope have about the same meaning.
Not in the way they are used in the Bible. The Bible says that faith is the substance of what we hope for, the evidence of things unseen. (Heb. 11:1) Faith is believing in what God can do. Hope is believing that God will do what He has promised. We have hope in both our own resurrection from the dead and what the Bible calls, "the blessed hope" which is the 2nd coming of Christ. Hope is rooted in faith. Faith is believing that Jesus was raised from the dead and that the His claims and indeed all of the claims of Scripture are vindicated in His resurrection. The hope we have in His promises is rooted in what He has already done. We can hope in the promise of our own resurrection because Jesus was resurrected.

Faith requires action. God's not going to make you do it.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
