When you think the devil is lurking behind everything, including a statement made out of love and concern, there is a problem!

1 Peter 5:6&7 says "Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your CARE upon Him, for He cares for you."

Since I cannot take care of my self, because I put my trust in Him, who takes perfect care for me. I would prefer to say to people

I will tell you why I got upset with this thread. I thought I made it clear, but maybe not.

1) Christians are giving the enemy way too much credit. It seems we are looking for evil, even in a simple concerned phrase like "Take care". I grew up in a very legalistic 'religious' home where the most often quoted verse was "be sure your sins will find you out'. I wasn't taught much about how much God loves us - I knew about fearing God only. Now that I know about the love of God and the power of God and that it's written that in the end we win, small things like this just don't matter.... especially when it turns into insulting a member.

Reason number 2) I've seen people put down Tess because of her age. Clearly, Jesus corrected everyone who did this! Jesus would not be happy with us for this stuff. Personally, I think we have a lot to learn from her. As a parent, I'd like to know what HER parents did. My guess is that they didn't shelter her and sheild her - they exposed her to stuff and taught her why it was wrong. They never talked down to her - they talked to her with a level of respect. They taught her to pray and equipped her for the real world. They taught her she doesn't need to fear the devil. I'm only guessing here but I really would like to know.

I apologize for jumping down your throat.

Pr 18:21  Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

The phrase is take care, short for take care of yourself. Are you saying it could bring death to tell a person to 'take care'?

QUOTE

Mt 12:35  A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

Did you post the above quote accidentally?

QUOTE

36  But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

So when I meet God, he's going to ask me "On January 3, 2002, you told your sister to 'take care' when she left your home. Would you mind explaining that to me young lady?"

QUOTE

37  For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

And those of us who say 'take care' will be condemned. in your opinion?

Are we allowed to say "be careful, the roads are icey"? or "Take care. It's pretty foggy outside"?

Yeah, like the only way I can see how to interpret it is 'from a good man you'll see good and from an evil man you'll see evil'.

I was suprised she added that verse in there.

I think I pointed it early in the thread, but I see her approach to this as being very similar if not identical to the way the WOF teachers approach "words." It is very new agey, and like you said, they give the enemy way more credit than he deserves.

As an example of something similar to this whole "take care" nonsense:

I remember a friend of mine trying to correct my "bad confession" one day because I said that I had a busy day and "worked myself to death." He told me that I was cursing myself by tacking on the words "to death" to my statement of how hard I worked. All I was saying was that I was tuckered out, and really tired. He made an issue out of a non-issue just like the Original Post is doing. That is just one example of what they do. This hyper critical treatment of "take care" is no different.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
