Gee Nebula, Mizzdy sounds like she's in a "performance" based relationship rather than an intimate one wouldn't you agree....

Wouldn't

These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: Proverbs 6:16

You

A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,

An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, Proverbs 6:17-18

Agree

A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren. Proverbs 6:19

In another thread I made similar statements about how I approached my relationship with God back when I was a Christian [similar to Mizzdy]. I mentioned having God's will done through my life as a major goal, along with a steadfast prayer life. Nebula responded by saying that it sounded like I had a performance based relationship and no wonder I left the Christian faith. I responded by saying that he wouldn't have said that to a fellow Christian here and he/she stated that he/she certainly would call them out.

I wanted to see if Nebula was true to his/her word. I don't think Mizzdy has a performance based Christian life, I would never make such an accusation....

True

The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, Psalms 55:21(a)

Words

but war was in his heart: his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords. Psalms 55:21(b-d)

Believe

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

"When I was a Christian it meant wanting to be an instrument for God doing his will whatever that was. It meant daily communion in prayer, I used to have a job that allowed me to be in prayer quite a lot throughout the day. It meant being willing to let go of what my personal pursuits are and accept what God gave me instead. This was my understanding or at least how I approached it."....

I Too Pray For A Heart After God

Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.

My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever. Psalms 73:25-26

And For The Mind Of A Servant

Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: Philippians 2:2-6

Yet The Gift Of Knowing God

When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, LORD, will I seek. Psalms 27:8

Is The Highest

Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven. Psalms 85:10-11

Gift Of All

As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. Psalms 42:1

It Is Not Too Late Dear One

Return, ye backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we come unto thee; for thou art the LORD our God. Jeremiah 3:22

Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. John 3:7

I see what you mean. It might have it was thought that you were scheduling your prayers or something along those lines and we see that in islam as well as in Judaism, making it seems somehow performanced based. Next time send Nebula a pm or you could somehow put a post together asking to see if theres similarities or how they differ? Calling someone out in the open forums really is frowned upon, against TOS.

I can see in some ways how you were trying to align your will to His, often times though we need to step back and make sure we are the ones who are not really leading ourselves in what we think He wants. Its hard to get rid of our fleshly desires, I would say impossible this side of His Kingdom but we strive daily to be what He wishes us to be.

Interesting topic. And though the scriptures speak often of each and all three they are a bit vague. From what I have gathered from scripture and the accurate accounts of people who had legitimate out of body experiences... there is an overlap, a kind of melding of all three where the ending of one and the beginning of the other are not clear. People who have had out of body experiences all had a human form. The account of the rich man and Lazarus and Abraham (Luke 16:19-31) are all apparently human in form yet they are spirits in the three chambered sheol.

Sheol2.jpg

All have forms. All are recognizable. They speak. They see. They feel pain. They thirst. While their physical bodies are in graves decaying to dust.

More in tune with the OP, they have self awareness. Thought. Observation. Everything anthropology class teaches is in the human body and resides in the brain. Could the brain be more than just the chamber of thoughts and the command center for the body? Those with out of body experiences said they had the same sense of self they had in their bodies. In fact it was hard to distinguish the two... described as "the same as when in the body only far more intense. Light being far brighter yet not damaging to look at, colors more vivid... etc.

Some might say this is extrabiblical evidence... I would say the genuine accounts are additional to the biblical evidence spoken of by the Apostle Paul...

2 Corinthians 12:2-4 (NIV)

2 I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven. Whether it was in the body or out of the body I do not know—God knows.

3 And I know that this man—whether in the body or apart from the body I do not know, but God knows

4 was caught up to paradise. He heard inexpressible things, things that man is not permitted to tell.

Most believe Paul was speaking in humility in the third person and that it was about the time he was stoned and left for dead (at Antioch / Iconium Acts 14:19). And he could not tell whether he was in a physical body or not. I submit that the human brain is a kind of valve between the two realities of the physical and the spiritual since it's awareness of self is in both realms. And that passages which refer to heart mind and soul speak of genuine dedication and the application of all that one has and is to the cause at hand (a true definition of saving faith). All or not at all. With all your mind and all your heart and all your soul and all your might...

Luke 14:26-35 (NIV)

26 “If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters—yes, even his own life—he cannot be my disciple.

27 And anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.

28 “Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it?

29 For if he lays the foundation and is not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule him,

30 saying, ‘This fellow began to build and was not able to finish.’

31 “Or suppose a king is about to go to war against another king. Will he not first sit down and consider whether he is able with ten thousand men to oppose the one coming against him with twenty thousand?

32 If he is not able, he will send a delegation while the other is still a long way off and will ask for terms of peace.

33 In the same way, any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple.

34 “Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again?

35 It is fit neither for the soil nor for the manure pile; it is thrown out. “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”

I am also convinced though I cannot prove it, that the body and spirit while very much in common one with the other are distinct in the realm they occupy. And the soul is a buffer, an overlap consisting of elements of both which exist only when the body and soul are in connection. This would also solve the triad problem of the description of death in scripture...

1. the cessation of existence (soul)

2. the appearance of sleep and decay and knowing nothing (body)

3. the ongoing conscious existence as to step from one room into another (spirit)

Something to think about. Something to pray about. Certainly to test with scripture!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
