I believe God is doing miracles everyday, we live in a fast pace world and people don't take the time to give these miracles any thought. When miracles do happen, many people don't recognize them as gifts from God, hence God doesn't get the recognition (praise) that he deserves. That is one of the characteristics of love, giving without expecting anything in return.

I believe the Son- Who said- 'With My Father there is nothing impossible'!

Now Paul was given infirmity that was not healed ... did He lack faith? Did He not know? Timothy in whom Paul led to the Lord also

infirmity not healed 'take a little wine for your stomach'...

These are examples to us of God's Great Wisdom in the doing of things and the trials of our faith!

1 Pe 1:6-9

6 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, 7 that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, 8 whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, 9 receiving the end of your faith — the salvation of your souls.

NKJV

Let's face it sickness and death is the result of our choice of sin! Shall we not drink of the cup we have chose?

Now that we have found it to be more bitter than we want... shall we demand it to be taken away because we no longer

want it's bitterness in our mouths?

God has not redeemed this world or these bodies but they both shall be fullfilled in His Witness of 'in the day ye eat ye shall surely die'.

Lets rejoice with those who are healed by Him and let us grieve with those who suffer- both having the hope of eternal deliverance both from this world and the flesh that so easily beset us! Hebrew 12 all is the journey of understanding in what God is doing in this regard... love, Steven

Many sweet and faithful Christians suffer with various illnesses, some chronic and very painful. They don't suffer because of lack of faith. We must remember the fall of man from the Garden because of sin and the curse of sin and death. We will all eventually get sick and die. We don't have nearly all of the answers in this short life, but it is sufficient for Christians to know that we have a God who loves us and cares for us through it all. Here's some of my favorite portions of Scripture that have helped me many times:

2 Corinthians 1:1-11 KJV 1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, unto the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints which are in all Achaia: 2 Grace be to you and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. 3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; 4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. 5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ. 6 And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation. 7 And our hope of you is stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation. 8 For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life: 9 But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead: 10 Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us; 11 Ye also helping together by prayer for us, that for the gift bestowed upon us by the means of many persons thanks may be given by many on our behalf.

Romans 8:16-28 KJV The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. 18 For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. 19 For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. 20 For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, 21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. 23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. 24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? 25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. 26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. 28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

2 Corinthians 5:1-21 KJV 1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven: 3 If so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked. 4 For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life. 5 Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit. 6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: 7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) 8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. 9 Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. 11 Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences. 12 For we commend not ourselves again unto you, but give you occasion to glory on our behalf, that ye may have somewhat to answer them which glory in appearance, and not in heart. 13 For whether we be beside ourselves, it is to God: or whether we be sober, it is for your cause. 14 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: 15 And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. 16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. 17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. 21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

God has not promised us an easy time in this short life, but His Promises to us for Eternity are wonderful beyond human imagination. It is not for us to know about all of God's Ways. There will be many "whys" in this short life that we won't get answers for. I'm reminded of this portion of Scripture that speaks volumes:

Isaiah 55:6-11 KJV Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: 7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. 8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. 10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: 11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

We don;t get sick because of lack of faith, but we remain sick because of it. It is not God's will that we be sick. That is the will of the enemy of our souls. It is God's will that we be well in order to fulfill His commission---Satan wants to sideline us and make us ineffective and idle.

Healing is in the atonement. Long life is His promise. We need to appropriate it.

Psalm 91:16

I will satisfy you with a long life. I will show you how I will save you.

Proverbs 3:1-2

1 My child, never forget the things I have taught you.

Store my commands in your heart.

2 If you do this, you will live many years,

and your life will be satisfying.

Proverbs 3:16

Long life is in wisdom’s right hand.

In wisdom’s left hand are riches and honor.

Proverbs 9:10-12

10The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.

The knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

11You will live longer because of me,

and years will be added to your life.

12If you are wise, your wisdom will help you.

If you mock, you alone will be held responsible.

I think god is trying to teach you something hear. So many have given into humanitarian Christianity and that means that one is a Christian because it makes them feel good or they benefit from it in some way. If you pursue and love god because you fear going to hell, or because you desire heaven, or because you seek acceptance, or your seeking power, health, wealth, wisdom, and so on if this is why you pursue and love god then you are using him for your own self interest, and you will never find true fulfillment. God is not a means to an end! One should love and peruse god simply because he is worthy. Your focus should not be what god can do for you but what you can do for god by allowing him to use you as a tool to accomplish his works. One should relies that we must repay the lamb that was slain on the cross and he deserve our obedience. Your mother is a perfect example of how to have faith in god, but she is also a reminder that we all die regardless of ones health and lifestyle habits. So what is god trying to teach you through your mothers death.

There is no doubt that prayers can bring on miracles, yet I also think miracles sometimes happen without prayer, more time with prayer then not.

In Iraq, five people in my platoon were riding in a Humvee, they were hit by an IED. The Hunvee was totaled, like it was peeled like an apple around the five passengers, yet for a few scrapes and one broken leg, nobody was killed. There was no doubt in my mind that Angels were riding with them that day, yet in that brief moment when the IED blew up, there was no time for prayer, but there were many prayers of thank-you God afterwards.

What a miraculous event that was---glory to God! However, it was due to prayer. God responds to intercession. Countless unnamed Christians pray for the troops every day all day long!
