While God uses all kinds of people to introduce his word to the world, it doesn't mean that he is approving of the lifestyle of the individual messengers. Tim Tebow may have a surprise coming on Judgment day when he approaches the Lord thinking that he will be given a great reward for wearing a scripture reference for millions to see on his head.

Most in today's world do not agree with my stance but in the list of the works of the flesh we find the word emulations listed KJV. The word is closely related to the words 'jealousy' and 'envy'. The act of using the body, mind and talents that God has given us to work to be better than others for the purpose of carnal glory and honor is a pride of life issue that is inherent in sports in general. Professional sports especially do not glorify God through being as his son was when he was here. If you look at Tim Tebow and see Jesus Christ, you might not know Jesus.

John 3:16 will most likely be the Antichrist's theme message when he appears on the scene. Only touting himself to be such a one with a message of tolerance to those who are tolerant and death to all who oppose. From all that I have heard about Tim Tebow, I have seen nothing to show him to use his high profile to call sinners unto repentance. He says "I love Jesus" and other claims about his personal testimony of himself. I believe that Tim Tebow loves the Jesus he proclaims but I question if he has the right Jesus or not. What I couldn't find while researching his background info was a detailed verbal profession of faith. What does John 3:16 mean to him?

There are many careers that one cannot glorify God in. Professional football is one of them.

Luke 9

49 "Master," said John, "we saw a man driving out demons in your name and we tried to stop him, because he is not one of us." 50 "Do not stop him," Jesus said, "for whoever is not against you is for you."

Tebow is a good guy and a mediocre quarterback by NFL standards. Certainly not a Hall of Fame player. But he's a good guy with a good heart and I believe he is sincere in what he is saying, even if some other people get a bit annoyed by it at times.

When the focus of the nation is on the person, it cannot be on the LORD. Perhaps Tim should think of a different way to give the glory to the LORD. JMO

Just what does that mean?? Tim Tebow is not responsible for the idolizing that the nation does.

We bring glory to the Lord when we excel in the abilities God gives us. Tim does that.

It means that people are making a mockery of the "Tebow Pose" and thus, in my opinion, mocking Christianity and our LORD. Although Tim is giving "all the glory to my LORD and Savior," those who imitate and make fun of him are detracting from his witness. In my previous post I said it was my opinion; I have said it again. It is my opinion that Tim should find another way of displaying his faith in CHRIST since the attention has been taken away from the LORD and replaced by attention on him.

jason, I am in agreement with you that any career of business can be used for evil purposes but there are some that just cannot be used to glorify God. A woman at a topless bar cannot glorify God even if she draw the words John 3:16 under her eyes. I don't care how much she spouts off that she loves God and owes her whole career to him. I use this example knowing that it is majorly extreme to show the point. Narrowing down that which can and cannot be done to the glory of God when we begin to go through the list of possible careers a person can have can become tricky no doubt. I understand that you do not agree with what I see in scripture. All I can do is present what I believe God has revealed unto me and it is up to God to whom he makes it real unto them. The Thessalonians received the words from Paul as they were in truth the words of God while the Bereans were of a more noble society and searched the scriptures daily to see if what Paul said was true. But we know that the increase and revelation can only come from God as flesh and blood cannot reveal truth unto your heart. The carnal mind is enmity against God. The spirit of God can and does reveal things as truth unto our spirit and if we heed what is revealed we receive more. If we do not then we lose that which we even seem to have.

In Jesus Name with Love and Grace,

Gary

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
