Why is it implied that she has no allegiance merely because of her poor English skills? That is a mighty assumption.

Actually here that is not entirely an assumption. That is a real problem in Arizona and other parts of the southwest. There are movements in mexico to remove the border limits so they can send many more across. There are movements to "take back" the land they claim they still own. There are some us politicians who have been elected who have openly stated they are more pro mexico than they are pro us, who are more interested in illegals than they are in american citizens.

Sure it's an assumption. Otherwise it would have to be true that EVERY person with her history has no allegiance to the States? noidea.gif

Are there? Well as long as a minority of American citizens don't vote for them you have nothing to worry about. After all the illegal and indeed legal immigrants (obviously i'm not talking about naturalised citizens) by virtue of being immigrants don't have a vote.

Lol. That is laughable. Since you do not live here, you are not aware of this, but Arizona also has a lot of problems with voter fraud that way. We enacted a law requiring proof of citizenship in order to vote and the feds sued us to strike it down. So now anyone can register and vote without showing any proof of citizenship. There is also a lot of identity fraud here and many illegals have fraudulent documents that permit them to do, among other things, vote. And it has long been known here that they do indeed vote. One July 4th, in which a large number of folks became citizens, someone tried to hand out voter registration forms, and he couldnt. It turns out most of them were already registered to vote. It made our local news and that prompted the law I mentioned above.

If she's not going to win, why bar her from office?

If the law states she cannot hold the office, why spend the money and time running? Why present a candidate that would be a wasted vote?

It would actually benefit the competition to have people of the opposite political party split on someone, even better to have one side of the split vote count for nothing. Don't you think?

Allowing a dead-end candidate to run is plain nonsense.

Unless, of course, you want her to run to make a point and/or establish a precedence. If that's the case, please be honest and say so.

Reallt I just think that American citizens should be allowed to run for public office. That should be the rule in a democratic society. As to wasted votes, at every election I've voted in there have been candidates who have no chance of winning. I don't vote Green, few do. But they have the right.

It is a well founded assumption and one that she will need to overcome.

Because she is lazy in learning the language. If she doesn't care enough to learn the language, it is likely she doesn't really care about the US. When someone has been here as long as she has and they still can't speak the language, it does not reflect well on her desire to run for office. Anyone with political ambitions should have the sense to know that you need to know and know well the language of the country you are seeking office in. If her main interests like with the hispanics/latinos she doesnt' feel the need to be competent in English, which calls her true interests into question.

She has been here long enough to have learned the language.

I do think it is a reasonable question to ask, and she would need to address the question should she be able to run again in the future, but surely it can't be a foregone conclusion before the question has been asked? Likelihood doesn't correspond to fact. I'm not saying she isn't one of those people, but the issue deserves consideration before labelling her as such.

Americans citizens are allowed, but not all of them. And it really doesn't matter what you think.

No, it shouldn't. There are all kinds of Americans who should not be allowed to run for office, convicted felons, for one and anyone who cannot speak the language regardless of the reason.

As to wasted votes, at every election I've voted in there have been candidates who have no chance of winning. I don't vote Green, few do. But they have the right.

Not everyone has the right to run for office in the US. Not ever citizen has the right to run for President.

Suck it up and deal with it amor.

She has brought it on herself. 10 to 1, she is a latino simply running for latinos. She only has latino interests at heart. It is soooo prevelent down there, I would win if I put money on it. I have NEVER seen a latino politician in AZ that was not latino first, American last. I think Jade, who lives in AZ will concur.

Ugh!

I'm not saying that issue is not a real relevant issue, I'm bemoaning the conclusion reached with no research done. If the shoe were on the other foot and someone were criticising Bush I'm sure you'd all pipe up and say 'show me the evidence first'.

Stereotypes are often true but each person deserves consideration on their own merits.

I can't believe I actually have to spell this out noidea.gif.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
