1 John 5:3This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, 4for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. 5Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.

what of those ignorant in the commands of god? or who obay the commands of god without even know what they are, simply becasue that is the kind of perosn they are?

ok Im christian becasue i was raised christian my whole life and used to be a perfect example of a christian.

Hey!

Thank you for answering my question (from the other thread)!

;) My guess was correct, it seems - which was why I asked to begin with about your faith.

I don't know what happened at home or at church that hurt you so bad, that has filled you with such anger (the anger came through in your post).

I hope one day, though, that you come to understand that Jesus is the center of Christianity - not a bunch of laws.

"If you would be perfect, go, sell all you have and give it to the poor; then come follow Me."

This is what Jesus told a rich, young ruler.

Christians do tend to get lost in rituals and regulations, which is unfortunate. But this was not what Jesus came to create. Jesus came to pay the penalty for the price of sin - with His own life! But He conquored sin and death and rose again!

Now He commands us to "Go into the world and preach the Good News" and "make disciples of all nations."

This is true Christianity.

I pray one day you come to the place of confessing your sins to the Lord and repenting of them, accepting His sacrifice in payment for your debt, and truly, truly giving your life to Him. This is how to be a Christian - to trade your life for His. The deeds come later. But it begins here.

The Lord bless!

If Jesus were not the way to Heaven there would have been no need for Him to die on the Cross all we christians believe must start at the Cross ! Yes we beleive he was born of a vergin but to accept HIM we must believe that He died for our sins that He paid the price for them . To not believe that is to not Beileve in who He was what He did and why He came.. That is what allows us entry into Heaven believing what was accomplished at the Cross and accepting Him as our Lord and Saviour. Believing that He will return is Rightiouness and Glory etc.

There is no other way !!!

God has 3 aspects right the father, son and holy sprite, i know he is the son of god but alot o other major religions have a parrallelsim here why wouldnt god have come to them as a being also? just in a diffent way.

Well, first off, this is based off a misunderstanding of the Trinity. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are not aspects of God, but actual persons. Each has a different role within the Trinity yet are still one. The aspects of God are found within the various names that are given to Him in the Old Testament. They desribe Him as a provider, lover, judge, ect. So the question is brought up, "Could other religions simply be worshiping an aspect of God?"

If all of the religions lined up in their basic belief and each aspect was consistent, then yes, we could say this. Unfortunately with the disparities among so many religions, it's hard (if not impossible) to find unity among them. Even at core beliefs they are all mutually exclusive. Muslims believe in an absolute judge as a God with little to no grace in His heart. While judge is an aspect of the Christian God, it isn't the complete picture. This does not prove that the Christian God is true, however it gives us an example that certain religions simply are not compatable, thus only one can be true.

I know this is true but the fact that you follow jesus's teachings with either being ignorant of his love and sacrifice or living in a society where you were raised diffrently? So is 3/4's of the world goign to hell simply because they dont know jesus? They are goign to be punished forever simply out of ignorance? I know MANy, MANY non christians, these people wouldnt be allowed into heaven simply becaue they dont specifically look to jesus christ for their refuge? I love jesus and god more than i can say and i leave it to him to let these people get what they deserve, witch is far better than hell.

This is a dangerous belief that you hold because it's mixing humanism with Christianity. In this kind of mindset man's judgement and understanding is elevated above God's. We begin to rationalize and predict God's movements in judging the world. The conclusion we come to is that He certainly wouldn't allow people to go to hell simply for not accepting Christ.

Unfortunately this is against God's nature. The nature of God is to be loving but at the same time fair and require sacrifice and faith. Christ sent His Son into the world as a sacrifice. Before this, we had to sacrifice lambs to God in order to gain atonement for our sin. God sent His Son into the world to stop the sacrifice and to provide the ultimate sacrifice. But not accepting this we are telling God, "We can do good on our own without your help." Thus, we are rejecting God's gift. Thus, God is not acting out of hate or malice, but simply as a rejected lover. We've rejected His gift of salvation. The question is, what can imperfect man offer up to a perfect God that would require Him to let us into heaven? If works can save us, then what is enough? What constitutes a good life?

IreneM also bring up an excellent point. If Christ were not the only way to heaven, then what is the purpose in Him dying? It is a very perplexing question and one I feel cannot be answered.

HI BC,

Paul has already answered this question for us. See Romans 2:12-16.. it shows that those who have not heard the gospel will be judged according to their actions.

Peace and Love!

Actually no, you are not a Christian, since you don't beleive and have faith in Jesus Christ as your personal savior.

You have knowledge of Christ, and have decided not to accept him, but to follow the beleifs and desires of the world.

You refuse to beleive that anyone not accept Christ will not be saved because you refuse to accept and do not wish to admit you are doomed without Christ.

Is English your first language?  I'm not quite sure what to make of your post...sort of sounds like you don't know what 'Christian' really means......

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

What does Christian really means? I see lots of people saying they are Christians and saying that if you don't believe like they do you're not Christians. Like if you believe like Calvin doctrine your not Christian or if you believe free will doctrine your not Christian or if your Catholic your not Christian and blah blah blah. I think maybe I am Christian and nobody else is becaue I'm the only one whos right. You see?

So how we going to decide who is Christian and who is not? Got to be something that says heres what Christians all believe and heres what Christians don't believe. Then we can see who is and who is not. Can't say just belief Bible because Calvins and catholics and everybody all believes Bible and they all say that the others not Christians. So how do we know who is and who is not?

So how we going to decide who is Christian and who is not?

We don't decide.

It's in the Bible.

First question - have you read the Bible?

Second question - do you believe what is written in there?

Do you believe Jesus Christ came in the flesh?

Do you believe He died on the cross as the final sacrifice before God for your sin?

Do you believe He rose from the dead?

Do you believe Jesus is Lord?

Have you made Him your Lord?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
