I'm convinced that Mystery Babylon is Islam. Look at the text and you'll see that the comma is after the word 'mystery'. So there's really no 'Mystery Babylon'...only that Babylon the Great is a Mystery.

That is a common phraise that is just speaking of the end time Babylon..... don't get your shorts all tied up in a wad. I'm familiar with the possibility of Islam being Babylon and have not accepted it. I'm sure that we'll know more about it in a short time.

Mystery Babylon isnt only about religion its trade and business, politics, art, science, math, et cetera. The mysteries were colleges i.e. schools. Its far more than religious ideology and its world wide.

I had to step out quick so I posted what I already had written, Im on an iPod if youre wondering, I came to understand that the world is Babylon because of these verses:

Psalm 110:1 "The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool."

Isaiah 66:1 "Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is the place of my rest?"

We see in the Psalm that the Lords enemies will be made His footstool and in Isaiah that earth is His footstool.

Revelation 17:15 "And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. 16And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. 17For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled. 18And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth."

2 Peter 3:10 "But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up."

We see in Revelation that the harlot is people, multitudes, nations, and tongues which will be burned and in 2 Peter we see that the earth will be burned. Yes Babylon has a physical locale but it isnt ancient Babylon.

I could say but I wont because it isnt well recieved and the Bible makes it clear who the harlot is as far as God is concerned. Without a doubt all thats going on in the world is relevant but dont get too picky about labelling one or another Babylon because her fornication isnt limited to one nation.

I am very glad you quoted this scripture whall1971. Because spiritually is America failing, as of right now were focusing on the good but the fact of the matter is were not as good as we think. The "heart of America" or our Governments and laws are very corrupt and are trying to do away with religion.

I would think it is the USA. Guess I will have to cancel that Sodom-Gomorrah vacation to Acapulco, Mexico along with Tijuana too! (That is a little humor folks).
