Gary, I am not going to dispute that

hypothesis now, only to say this, that they hung out with God enough to know his sound, and long enough for Adam to name (characteristic names) all the animals, I'll leave it at that for now.

when the rapture occurs Jesus may very well take all believers not just the pre-tribbers. He is coming back for the ones that believe

in Him as the only way to heaven; just because a person is not sure if it is before or after the tribulation, i do not think that matters.

He will take all believers, no matter where they stand on when it will occur. The only benefit "pre-tribbers" get is the peace that comes from knowing that we are not destined to GOD's wrath. All we need to do is evangelize, love as Christ loves, and watch for His coming.

The age of innocence lasted less than a day. How can that be considered a dispensation? Adam never walked with God in the cool of the day in the garden, he was thrown out the very first day. At the end of the day man was instructed to go multiply and have dominion over the earth. They succeeded in multiplying but failed in dominion. God flooded the earth as a result of that failure. Dispensationalism lacks credibility in many areas and leads to error in teaching.

Gary, my brother, could you cited scripture for your 'one day paradise' hypothesis.

Gladly Monarchy, it isn't something that can be understood through a simple 'proof text' though, it must be seen within the context as it develops in the first three chapters of Genesis. Here is a post I did at another forum on the topic

After having a conversation about the events that took place in the garden of Eden and the first three chapters of Genesis, I was led to believe that the fall of man happened on day 6 of creation before God saw all that he had made and declared that it was very good.

It is all linked into what God said and to whom he said it. Beginning in Chapter one we find:

26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

26 The decision to make man and give him dominion.

27 The finished creation of man both male and female.

28 The blessing to multiply, fill and subdue the earth.

Chapter 2 begins with verse 4 to say:

4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens, 5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground. 6 But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground. 7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. 8 And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed. 9 And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

This obviously is part of verse 27 from Chapter 1. As 26 is the decision to make man and 27 has the finished product of both Adam and Eve. The rest of chapter 2 must fit into this time frame then as well.

15 And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. 16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

18 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. 19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. 20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him. 21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; 22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man. 24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. 25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.

At this point in the day God has made both Adam and Eve and given them of every tree in the garden to eat. And they were naked and not ashamed. Chapter 3 explains for us that they didn't originally know that they were naked as God asked Adam "Who told thee thou wast naked?". and so we can comfortably say that chapter 2 fits inside of chapter 1 verse 27.

Chapter 3: The fall.

17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;

18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;

19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

It isn't until after the fall that God gives the herb of the field to Adam as food. Keeping this in mind lets return to chapter one to see where it all fits into creation week.

28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. 29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. 30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

And we see that the addition of herb bearing seed is added after the blessing they were given to be fruitful, and multiply and fill the earth with dominion. So the fall has to be before verse 28 concluding that the fall happened on day 6 before the close of the day where God said:

31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

So it was after the fall and sin and death had entered into the world that God saw everything he had made and it was very good. This seems wrong to me in so many ways but I can't seem to follow the logic of the scriptures otherwise. It seems God set everything into motion and has been busy perfecting his 'very good' creation by defining and destroying evil as he goes. God is light, there is no darkness in him at all. But that doesn't mean that evil was not part of his plan to refine creation for his son Jesus to rule and reign over eternally.

In Jesus Name,

Gary

So the answer would be that you cannot provide Scripture that proves your theology. Just your interpretation or understanding? That boat just doesn't float.

My interpretation? I am just reading what they say and being consistent. If you want to 'interpret' them some other way then feel free but that would require twisting them. What part of what God gave them to eat and when don't you understand?

Gary, no offense but you cannot prove your "one day in the Garden" statement with Scripture. You say it comes from your studies, but nowhere does it say or even suggest that in the Holy Text. I don't know, maybe I just missed it.

We know that God has dealt with times past in different ways but the thread that runs through all of these dispensations no matter the number of them is, "The wages of sin is death." God provided animal skins for Adam and Eve. Something had to die. Faith and sacrifice has always been the center piece of covenant. Without faith we cannot please God. Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sins.

Today we have a High Priest making intercession for the saints. A priest in the order of Melchizedek. A royal priesthood, both King and Priest. And this priesthood preceded Aarons, Abraham payed Him tythes, a king could not be a priest nor a priest a king in the Aaronic priesthood.

I don't refute the existence of dispensations, I think they are evident. I do believe a hard dispensational view in the sense that one dispensation ends and the next begins is a way of creating a file system that at first helps but later hinders. But actually one dispensation bleeds into the next so to speak. It is discontinued but yet continues in the respect that without it there would not be the next. One is needful of the other. We understand the things of the old because of the new but without the understanding of the old we will never grasp the depth of the new. The order of Melchizedek for example.

From beginning to end, Gen 1:1 to Rev. 22:21, is a revealing, and everything has to do with, well, everything.

There were a number of Dis. teachers around before 1948 but in my opinion what really gave dispensational teaching its popularity was the many years of preaching Israel would become a nation and they were proven right.

Dispensationalism isn't the beast some make it to be but it isn't the strict line to follow either. Dispensationalists see some things and not others, just like every theology. None of us have it completely right. It's why we need each other.

But the thing is we know what's coming. We know what the future holds because we know what has been, and it's why, as believers, we need to follow our High Priests example, before Jesus received His crown of Kingship, so to speak, He became a servant, born into a poor family, to a despised race, in an occupied country, and was obedient even unto death, offering Himself as a living sacrifice for the sins of the whole world.

Before we receive our crowns we have an opportunity in this life to deny ourselves and pick up our cross and follow.

Interplanner is so right about the gospel, so right about understanding the increadable gift of salvation and the power of His resurrection, If it were 1930 I may be standing right beside him in his theology. But it isn't, and much has happened since then, I want to continue searching the scriptures to see if these things be so. The world is changing every day and will continue changing but the Lord asked us to pay attention to today. The evil that is coming is already here and always has been. But we all know what happens in the end. Victory belongs to the Lord.

Parker, how can I be offended in you? I have read the text many times and have missed that which was there most of the time only to come to understand later. I have had people point out something clearly by laying it all out for me in simple order only to reject what was presented but later come to have it revealed as truth unto me. My job is plain and simple, that is to lay things out as God has revealed them to me in truth. This particular issue amazes me because it is so straight forward but people cannot receive it. It is as you say, maybe you just missed it. If I had a dollar for every time I just missed something brother! But I continue to grow in his grace. It took me 5 years to understand why Jesus had to die but I digress. I think part of the problem with receiving truth is the web of lies we have swallowed along the way to get to where we are. Just like a real web, when a strand or two gets broken the whole thing collapses. And when that happens we loose our security. It is only natural for us to fight tooth and nail to keep our foundations from crumbling. The real question is, if what I pose to be truth is truth, then what does that mean for the rest of what you believe? Does it cause conflict in your theological positions that are important to core doctrines? It did mine. But what I found is that it fits the truth of who God is and who Satan is much better. God is a planner who plans ever detail by thinking everything out in advance of doing everything before he begins the project period. Satan is one who is impulsive and acts immediately without researching or understanding the implications of all that he is about to do. He didn't sit around and do a study on what was going on there in the garden while resisting the temptation for a long period of time only to fall victim to the inability to control himself any longer. No. He fell like lightening.

So I must be careful and not be offended in my brother who is merely trying to work everything out just as I am, both of us trying to figure out what the truth is and submit ourselves to obeying that which is true once we find it. God bless you with all spiritual knowledge and truth in the revelation of him and his will for you in this life.

In Jesus Name,

Gary

Paul tell us that we will judge the angels, however The Lord made mankind in form that we did not know good from evil (right from wrong so to say) and it was actually Satan himself that is responsible for us having the equalifications to judge the angels. For a God that is known to be just, I think this was pretty classy of him to work it out this way. Who knows why for sure, but I would whole heartedly agree with him that everything was/is truly good.

Sam, you bring out an excellent point. I too agree that it was perfectly just and righteous of God to work it out this way. And everything was/is truly good.

Can you show me where it lasted less than one day?
