Other One also refrains from putting his fellow posters down.

Well, I've fallen short of that this week..... and it bothers me a lot.

Yes, I understand. Misdirect, Misdirect.

You do realize that you have been the one who is bringing up people like Carnegie and others that have no relation to the topic. The topic is regarding Obama's speech. If anyone is misdirecting things, I'm afraid it's you.

Are you honestly afraid to examine examples, lots of them, that actually work against this Ideology?

Here we go again..

All that has been discussed in this thread is Obama's recent speech. All I have said in this thread so far is his quotes are being taken out of context. When put in context it's pretty obvious what he meant.

What "ideology" are you referring to? Also if you would provide examples that are actually relevant to the discussion I'd be glad to comment on them.

It's funny how the full context was never quoted.

In context;

"it must be because you worked harder than anybody else, you didn't build that."

Are you deliberately ignoring things now? Not only is your "in context" quote wrong since you're clipping parts together, but I already posted the entire speech and clipped a larger portion of his quote.

Dave this is exactly what I'm talking about when I say you aren't reading what other people are writing.

The fall of the stock market.

The collapsing of small and large business place throughout the United States . (Starting with Detroit , Mich.)

The Banks, ... it is harder for them , to give out loans.

People losing their jobs.

People losing their houses.

Pushing oil field companies of the U.S. to find work overseas .

High fuel prices.

High cost of living...food, shelter, utilities, insurances, medical, etc.

The ecomomy is going to get worst .

It is obvious to see ,and know that this man , has not done anything to help out the people of the United States

since, he has been in office, as the President of the United States.

I would not give him a Pat On The Back For Nothing !

And I cannot wait to cast my vote against him , this coming election.

Government is tasked with providing an environment that is conducive to job production and job growth. If you start your own business, if you put in the hours, make the sacrifices and take the risks, YOU, not the government gets the credit. No sane business owner denies the benefits of infrustructure government provides, but to say that you owe everyone else for your success is nonsense.

This is the kind of socialst, liberal drivel we get from Obama when he goes off the teleprompter. He shows his true far left socialist, anti-American mentality in moments like those.

I got my college degree because of me, not because of my instructors. They provided the information, but I had to master it on my own. I had to make the sacrifices and put in the hard work and I had to discipline myself to study.I had to take the tests, write the papers, read the books and know the information. The School provided the environment, but I made the grade on my own. That is just commonsense. (something Obama supporters typically lack).

A vote for Obama is a vote for Eurpean-styled socialism. Obama supporters would probably be much happier in France (once the get past the urine smell).

A business, is started through the individuals' idea of opening up, his or her own business.

They go to the bank to borrow the money.

Emplyees are the backbone of the companys' business.

If there is not enough money circulation happening.

That business will callapse.

Callapsing of businesses through the United states due to the bad ecomony.

Not enough business opportunities and for money to circulate .

No...opportunities for companies .

No...money flow.

No jobs for employees.

Out of Business !

Okay Spinmeister.

Here's the actual text of the speech in context from the Presidents own website;

There are a lot of wealthy, successful Americans who agree with me -- because they want to give something back. They know they didn’t -- look, if you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own. You didn’t get there on your own. I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there. It must be because I worked harder than everybody else. Let me tell you something -- there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there. (Applause.)

If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business -- you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet.

http://www.whitehous...oanoke-virginia

Here's the snippet that KatyAnn posted and that you parroted in spin;

"If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help," Mr. Obama said. "There was a great teacher somewhere in your life... Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you've got a business -- you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen... The point is, is that when we succeed, we succeed because of our individual initiative, but also because we do things together."

You left off some significant parts there.

Say hello to the Chinese for me though because if you keep digging a hole for yourself it's where you will end up.

The great irony is I already posted a link to the entire speech in my earlier reply... once again it appears you aren't reading what I'm typing.

No, you posted a link to a site full of someones opinion and spin on the subject. Nice try though.

Would you care to comment on the glaring ommissions?

Let's read the link together, shall we?

All of the below is from http://www.politifac...-build-comment/

Mitt Romney and other Republicans have pounced on a line from President Barack Obama that they say denigrates people who create and build businesses.

It's stating Romney & Republicans are upset over a line in Obama's speech that they say denigrates people who create & build businesses.

I see literally no way how it can be taken to be "full of someones opinion and spin on the subject".

As Romney put it in a July 17, 2012, speech in Irwin, Pa., Obama "said this; ‘If you've got a business, you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen.’"

So this is stating what Romney put in a July 17th speech. Once again I fail to see how this is "full of someones opinion and spin on the subject".

...the rest of the article is word for word verbatim several paragraphs from Obama's speech, which is identical to the link you got from your page.

Perhaps you also consider verbatim transcript of Obama's speech to be a website's "spin and opinion"?

Whenever you are willing to have an honest conversation with me let me know. You continue to call me names (like spinmeister) and continue to demonstrate your inability to read what I'm posting before leaping to false conclusions. This is now at least the 3rd time I've asked you to stop name-calling. Frankly it's beginning to border on harassment.

What I find odd in discussions like this is that supporters of the president want to deny his worldview.

Obama supporters: Be honest with yourselves and others - Obama has a worldview and it is based in part on big government solutions to problems.

Obviously you support the man - so support his policies. Quit denying them; rather, go ahead and embrace them. Rather than spend time denying his clear intentions with pleas of "that was taken out of context, blah blah blah", tell us WHY big government solutions are to be desired and embraced.

Blessings!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
