Maher: 'I'm spreading the anti-gospel'

Or, for that matter, whether there's any difference between the two.

So when Maher is already riffing on religion as a reporter walks into the Los Angeles offices of his HBO show "Real Time With Bill Maher" for an hourlong interview about his spiritual beliefs, it's hard to say if the commentary is spontaneous or part of a routine.

"If there was just one topic I could talk about for the rest of my career, I would pick religion," Maher says, leaning back in his desk chair as if he's settling in for a long yarn. "It's the one that makes me angriest, I think, and it's the one that's least discussed, in my opinion."

It does not suprise me. He's always been anti-god. At least now he's coming out of the closet.

Bill Maher used to be funny... Now he is just a smug, stuck up brat that has become inflated with his own feelings importance. I cannot stand it when people think arrogance somehow makes them appear intelligent.

I've never been impressed with him and I thought it was quite appropriate when ABC pulled the plug on his show on their network. His carp is something you'd expect from HBO, but not a supposed to be family network. We need to pray for this guy!

He also said "It wastes energy, so much time and energy that could be spent on more important things , more constructive things ."

Like what he does is soooooooo important to society .... give me a break !

This guy being on the air prooves that Bush is not trying to run a police state. In a police state, Maher would have been executed by now. He also (not on purpose) is living proof that God has patients and mercy with us because he(Bill) has not met up with a devine bolt of lightning yet. I agree...Pray for the guy! I hope he gets saved! Soon!

This sounds to me like a challenge to God. I am EXPECTING him to become a believer now....

we can all smile knowing that God is able to prove Himself with or without our help.

I think ol' Bill would have a fit if he knew we were praying for him. To me, he is a political enemy but I guess it's another opportunity to "love your enemies". You never know....Paul was once a man named Saul who wasn't too fond of Christians.
