How many of you plan to let your kids go trick or treating or plan to leave light on and allow kids to knockon your door ????

Alot of Christians see nothing wrong with kids trick or treating

so just wanted to know how you feel

We used to put a sign on the door that read "Sorry, no candy." This year we'll be answering the door. We don't let our kids trick or treat mostly because of the number of creeps that are out there - and kids who's parents don't care if they ruin the fun for the rest. Halloween these days is just an excuse for kids to cut loose a little and get a bag full of candy in the process anyway. There's about as much spirit in Halloween as there is in the marketing scheme behind Christmas.

what a great idea, maybe throw this twist in...

silently pray for and bless all the kids that come to your door, dedicate your treats to God, that all who consume them would be somehow marked, or recognized for God, His angels, and the Holy Spirit to reach out to them, for most of those kids' parents can't do that themselves.

Yup! We used to throw tracts in the bags too. But my kids got tired of getting the stink-eye from the kiddies holding out the bags. Just give 'em some candy and send them on their way with a little prayer and a "God-bless you."

I was watching the news a few days ago. They spoke of the police checking up on the three hundred child molesters in the area before halloween. Three hundred! That alone should send a message to parents to keep their children off the streets...but it won't.

I personally do not believe Christians should be involved with anything that promotes evil as being harmless or good. It may seem cute to see little Susie dressed up like a witch, or little Tommy looking like the son of Sam, but I doubt it is pleasing to the Lord. If we compromise and let little Sally go all dressed up like a Pooh Bear, we are still sending our children the wrong message, and allowing them to be in harms way for a bag of candy.

I dunno, I never understood the concept of dressing up as bible characters. On Halloween you can dress as a ficticious character that hasn't really done anything evil. As a Bible character you can dress as a person who has probably:

* raped

*Murdered

*Stolen

*Lied

*Committed adultry

*Gotten drunk and naked

And the list goes on....

If I had kids I'd take them trick or treating. I couldn't answer the door because I'd be out with them. Especially with some of the neighborhoods around here, they give out whole sized candy bars. I'm all about that.

Here we go again, lol!

anyway, we are taking our kids trick or treating....notice said, "taking them" we are not about to let our kids run the streets by themselves, even when they get older, we will go with them. We see it as an opportunity to get out and actually meet the neighbors (lay a relational foundation with them so we would have greater opportunity to witness to them). I think that if you feel convicted about not doing anything that night, then don't, but I personally feel convicted to get out there and combat satan in trying to claim that night as his own.

I also have to admit, I enjoy dressing my kids up and taking their pictures (my 7 year old girl is a ballerina, my 5 year old son is a dinosaur, and my 2 year old girl is a ladybug, they look so cute!) and I love watching them have fun and the candy is a bonus  that we put up in a big bowl and it usually lasts until January! (we don't let me pig out on it right then and there, we ration it)

I really can't stand Halloween . We do not celebrate it period . It's a day to give homage to the pagan God Samhain . Lord of death . I am sure there are alot of other valid reasons to not celebate it , but I for one will not give any kind of homage to any God but the living God . Theres alot of good info here on worthy news at http://www.worthynews.com/halloween.html and at www.exposingsatanism.org . This is one topic that needs to addressed for more reasons than one . Please read the info and pray about it . Thank you all and have a blessed day in Christ .

I will be dressed up in a red suit and carry a pitchfork like a devil--I even have little red horns to put on my head. I think my wife is going to go as a witch or cat woman, but I don't remember what she picked out at the Halloween store. I think my daughter picked out a Britney Spears costume or something like that.

We really decorate our house up quite a bit. We have some spider webs in the windows and a black light on the porch. It is really cool because in the front room I built a small coffin and I have a smoke maker there too. There will be a flashing strobe light in this room also. It looks pretty scarry. We really carve our Jack-O-Lantern up quite nicely. We use it as the head of the "person" we have sitting in a chair on our front porch. We put the basket of candy in the lap of the jack-o-lantern person so the kids are scared to take candy--Most do though.

Should be fun.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
