I'm not bitter Deb, so don't worry about that. Let's just say it's more p0ractice at forgiving that I didn't need.

What I do need is practice at not being too trusting to the wrong people. I used to tell a girl I knew trust must be earned, not given away. I need to learn this too. But I'm not bitter. I am way too aware of God, and I know what He wants from us. It would take a lot more than ninny babies to get between me and God.

Blaind if you want to help others, it's very easy. I say this, but maybe you are sttil very young. Maybe you have parents that stop you? But if not, just look for whhat another person needs and help the3m wioth it.

That's all for now because I'm outside and my fionge4rs are starting to freeze.

I hope to have an internet connection in my apt i8in another 2 weeks. Once I get that back, I'll start to feel like Sandy is obver. But right now I feel like Sandy was the end of life as knew it.

Actually I'm more worried about my friend Ray than me. Ray i8s the Jewish pharmacist who has heloped me not go insane through this. Ray just confided in me the store is about 25% under what he must make to9 survive. Ray is a good man. Pl3ease pray for Ray.

See ya all tomorrow ... God willing

John

After Charlie my poor 90 year old Aunt waited one month before she had electricty!! The only saving grace was my house was on the hospital grid and I had power in 5 days. I just can't imagine how everyone can be sane at this point. May God Bless and keep you!

Hello Everyone

I've been trying to post this for weeks. I'm in 1 of the disaster zones created by the super storm called Sandy. I thought there would be more talk about it. Maybe none of you know how bad it rerally is. I only got heat and electricity back 1 week ago. I had no place to go so I had to stay in my apt. Most nights I slept with 3 layers of clothes and sometimes winter gloves.

I had bought the entire Bible on cassette 20 years ago. It took 2 weeks to get some batteries, but once I did I started to listen to the Bible every night. I lost my pc due to the storm and the one I'm using doesn't haved spell check. So please forgive the typos and misspelling.

I want to tell you all that I think we are further into the end times than I used to think. Sandy hit the North East coast and where I am we were hit hard. I've lived here on the coast all my life, and I never saw 4 to 5 feet of water cover the land before. This was very unexpected. And this is just the beginning.

Thinking of what Jesus said in Matthew 24, He said you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. I think that was the 1930s. Then He said the Earth would go through tribulations like never before. That's where I think we are right now. I hate to think what may be coming next. I still have almost no touch with the rest of the world, so I don't know what is happening.

I saw a post saying the pope wants a 1 world religion. Is this true? It sounded like he wants to merge Christianity with Islam?

I don't have any more time today. I'll try to come back tomorrow.

John

God bless you brother. praying for you and all others impacted by the storm.

That you are not bitter is good to know John. Will add Ray, by name, to my prayer list

Hello Peter,

I am very sorry for you that you are in such a plight. Weren't you praying for protection and deliverance? You can move mountains but instead of throwing the material into the sea you could have used it to erect a dyke to protect the whole city. That would have helped a lot of people, I guess.

Hey Deb, I didn't respond to that because my name isn't Peter and I figured maybe he meant to post it some place else.

I also considered he may be very young or very new to Bible reading. I suppose in a different thread we can discuss some of the things Jesus said that are not to be taken litterally.

But I don't think any one or group of believers could have stopped Sandy because I believe a storm like Sandy is part of God's judgement and plan for mankind.

IMO the only way to stop the future disasters coming is for the people of Earth to repent. That means stop sinning.

Oops! My pity was meant for you, John, of course! I am surprised about your response: Why does my comment seem to you immature? Because I didn't know that you claim that some of God's words are to be taken literal and some not? Is there scriptual evidence for such a claim? As far as I know we have God's word that His word is not subject to personal interpretation. Also Jesus said:

“Verily I say unto you, if ye have faith and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, ‘Be thou removed and be thou cast into the sea,’ it shall be done. And all things whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.” (Matt. 21:21-2)

Since most people were dry and comfy when the disaster struck your place, it seems a bit exaggerated to say that it means the end of times.

So I really don't see why you have doubts that a believer should be able to remove a mountain in order to build a protective wall around your city, if Jesus promises that you shall receive whatever you ask for in prayer. Now that so many people here have prayed for you, you no longer ought to be in need of builders, electricians, nurses etc. anymore.

Be that as it may: What parts of God's word do you say should be taken literal and which not? How do you distinguish the two?

By the way: Another good example for the power of Christian prayer and its approbiateness in storms is is no doubt this:

But as they sailed, He fell asleep. And there came down a storm of wind on the lake, and they were filling with water and were in jeopardy. And they came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Master, Master, we perish!” Then He arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water; and they ceased, and there was a calm. And He said unto them, “Where is your faith?” And they being afraid wondered, saying one to another, “What manner of man is this? For He commandeth even the winds and the water, and they obey Him!” (Luke (8:22-5)

Or is this not to be taken literal, too?

I find this a very strange reply? Are you saying that a lack of faith by JTC resulted in the Sandy destruction?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
