These days, goth men wear make up, but don't want to be seen as women.

Understood...but the pic that the OP posted (since deleted) as an example of what he saw was that of a transvestite. :)

It doesn't matter what he looked like.

Jesus said, "Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment." ....... John 7:24

Actually, it does matter what he looked like. Revolutionist90 got caught in an embarrassing situation because of how this guy mad himself look, and he's been trying to process that.

So embarrassment is a justifiable reason to change or ignore scripture?

And I still stand by the claim that anyone - man or woman - who covers their face with that kind of (bright colors) and that much make-up is trying to hide (seriously, the person is in essence painting a mask on their face).

Can't argue with this. Make-up alters facial appearance. If it didn't, people wouldn't use it.

So yes, his mind is twisted - but "twisted" doesn't have to be a derogatory term. I've had a chronic depression problem my whole life; if someone pointed out that my mind is twisted, I would have to agree with them.

Semantics.

Something is wrong inside a person to want to hide their true face like that.

With the exception of children, every woman I know has something wrong inside them because

they all wear makeup. Every man that has facial hair has a twisted mind because beards and

mustaches hide their true face. Even people who wear glasses, according to your line of thinking,

have a twisted mind because glasses do alter the appearance of the face.

Interesting thought process, but I don't believe it trumps scripture.

Do not judge according to appearance.

Just for the record (and I know you are just making a point), my wife wears no makeup at all, (not even lipstick) she never has. Not because she has some sort of objection to it, but because she just does not think it necessary, nor does she enjoy the process of applying it, or taking it off.

The fact that she is the most beautiful woman in the world may just have something to do with it, but that's just my opinion......

I refuse to wear make up, but it is more that I can't be bothered and hate the way society has a role for women as "the beautiful things". I don't think make up is that beautiful, to me it screams "like me for what I look like!". Meh, can't be bothered with that stuff. I understand not all women have that motivation, but there you go... that's my motivation. I just don't want to feed society and it's stupid demands. Nothing really spiritual there.

It is my understanding men also wear make-up for pretty much any movie (as an actor) or news cast.

Last week we went to a pizza place and the guy who took our order was clearly a homosexual. He had long hair, long nails, and a touch of make-up. My first instinct was to try to avoid him as that is the "Christian" thing to do right? Nope. We, my wife and I, actually talked to him for a little bit. He really made our son (just a baby) laugh as he made silly faces. We prayed before our meal so he obviously knew our belief system. Perhaps we were able to influence him to help him see we valued him as a person. Maybe that's a seed that one day when we go back we can share the Gospel with him.

Just a few thoughts...

God bless,

GE

Man, have you considered the context of Jesus words?

John 7

19 Has not Moses given you the law? Yet not one of you keeps the law. Why are you trying to kill me?" 20 "You are demon-possessed," the crowd answered. "Who is trying to kill you?" 21 Jesus said to them, "I did one miracle, and you are all astonished. 22 Yet, because Moses gave you circumcision (though actually it did not come from Moses, but from the patriarchs), you circumcise a child on the Sabbath. 23 Now if a child can be circumcised on the Sabbath so that the law of Moses may not be broken, why are you angry with me for healing the whole man on the Sabbath? 24 Stop judging by mere appearances, and make a right judgment."

What "appearances" was Jesus talking about?

Something is wrong inside a person to want to hide their true face like that.

You're being ridiculous, man.

Interesting thought process, but I don't believe it trumps scripture.

You need to defend your claim that the OP was violating Scripture by trying to process what happened.

And how is he to learn if he doesn't discuss with others what he cannot figure out himself?

Do not judge according to appearance.

What did Jesus mean by "appearance" in what He spoke?

That is the best dodge I have seen you make so far.

I just remember the many discussions we have had where you were so against man having long hair, yet you say we should not judge a man who wears makeup. Really confusing to me what you really believe. Nothing more, nothing less ...

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
