So, what if a 20 year old is having a sexual relationship with a 15 year old girl, and there's a chance she might become pregnant? The State has now become an accomplice to her rape, and is obstructing justice by allowing her or her rapist to cover it up. Giving a minor access to an abortifacent, such as this, is interfering with justice, if the person that got her pregnant is an adult. It is not the same as a condom either, the drug is only to be used after unprotected sex, to prevent a pregnancy, and will not protect her from getting a STI.

.................................................................................................................................

So, you are against the morning after pill because a pregnant victim aids justice?

It's no wonder the heathens think we are crazy.

That's not the only reason I am against it. But, as you can see there are lots of reasons why people oppose this, and they were given before I posted anything. So, I threw out another reason why minors should not have access to this drug. And if you don't think adults that abuse minors will use this as a get out of jail card, then you are naive.

Rapists have tried many ways to hide a pregnancy to avoid prison, such as killing the victim, injuring the victim and forcing a miscarriage, poisoning the victim, kidnapping and keeping the victim in confinement, etc. Here's an example of a similar thing happening to an 11 year old, you may know her as Jaycee Dugard.

The existence or her children aided in the conviction of Phillip Garrido for sexual assault, battery, kidnapping, etc. Doesn't seem so crazy does it?

Everything the left stands for is destructive to the character, body, or soul of the people they say the support. Why are they so destructive? This goes all the way back to Eden. Lucifer, not only instigated the destruction of Man's relationship with God, he also instigated the destruction of the character, body, and soul of everyone since then.

I agree, if people were abstinent, abortion, pre-marital sex, and unwed child birthing wouldn't happen.

But, what I'm hearing from people that do support OTC "Plan B" pills being available to minors, is, they seem to have accepted that children/teens are "sexual" beings and instead of being told sex is not good for them (which it isn't) they are being told it's ok to have sex, as long as they are careful. Well, if that applies to sex, why shouldn't it apply to anything else kids want to do?

Unbelievable. Kidnapping her and keeping her for eighteen years was all that was needed to convict this sicko. If you really believe that there is anything positive about Dugard getting pregnant by her kidnapper, then there is really nothing more anyone can say to you.

You do realize that this rapist/molester could buy the pill themselves anyway as they would be adults.

I also find the above part of your post disturbing? Are you a parent? If so, are any of your children daughters?

If raped and pregnant, wouldn't you rather they receive a morning after pill than go through the atrocities you describe?

I know abstinance is the answer, but that is no comfort to a rape victim. They need help, not platitudes.

It would be helpful to actually understand what the Plan B morning after pill actually does. It does not kill a fertilized egg. If prevents fertilization from occuring.

Plan B or Plan B One-Step is not the same as RU-486, which is an abortion pill. It does not cause a miscarriage or abortion. In other words, it does not stop development of a fetus once the fertilized egg implants in the uterus. So it will not work if you are already pregnant when you take it.

This information is also provided in the OP article. I guess not everyone read it.

I'm not for this loosening of the controls on this drug either......but; if if will reduce the number of abortions then it would be worth it. If no pregnancy occurs, no life is ended. As for condoning sex, kids are going to do what they've always done......but maybe if pregancy can be prevented, a child won't have to pay with his/her life for their would-be parents' lack of morals.

Sorry, but you're not making any sense. It is designed to dislodge a fertilized egg from the uterine wall.

Sorry, the "kids are going to do what kids always do" argument isn't washing either. Abstinence works every time it's tried.

Yes, abstinence DOES work every time....but that's not the world we're living in. As for not making any sense, it depends on how clearly one thinks. I'm not going to believe that wishing for people to practice abstience is going to affect the number of abortions that take place. We have to deal with situations as they are, not the way we wish they were.

Actually, we need to deal with the reality of sin and it's consequences and stop marginalizing our children.

Not marginalizing, Dave, being realistic. ANYTHING that would reduce the number of abortions is, if not a good thing, at least a better alternative to murder. The morning after pill prevents pregnancy (I'm not sure of the medical mechanics of it all) and that's better than killing a fetus in the womb.

So let me get your argument straight. Help me understand what you're saying. Are you really saying that compromising with sin is better than not sinning in the first place?

Ge 4:7

If you do well, shall you not be accepted? and if you do not well, sin lies at the door. And you shall be its desire, and you must rule over it.

It does not prevent pregnancy. It dislodges fertilized and unfertilized eggs from the uterus wall. It in fact terminates a pregnancy. That's being realistic.

What would reduce the number of abortions is to stop marginalizing and underselling our kids in the first place.

The posted article says the opposite. There are two morning after pills. One does as you say. But the Plan-B bill the OP is about prevents pregnancy from occuring in the first place.

I think that is why morning glory (who appears to be the only one who read the entire article) sees this as a better alternative than abortion. I agree.

I'm not really a supporter of 15 year olds being able to buy this drug either but I AM in favor of reducing abortions. I'm taking into account that, too often, girls that young are being molested by a family member or friend. Like I said, there is NO ideal solution here.

How is preventing a fertilized egg from implanting on the uterus not abortion of another kind?

They are both abortions. So it is not preventing abortions. Its only making it "nicer" for the female and public.

In your post above you stated:

Thing is, preventing a fertilized egg from implanting is still an abortion. The literature out there tries to say it isnt so folks are not turned off.

From one of my pharmacy resources, ONE of the mechanisms of action is to prevent the implantation of a fertilized egg onto the uterus.

I am a pharmacist btw.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
