Are you saying you will never have victory over Krispy Kremes? That you continue to deny the craving, and exercise that fruit of self control, shows you have victory!

Same can be said for those that continue to deny the craving for engaging in homosexual activities.

Yes, exactly! Or any other sin of body or soul.

Self righteous and pride are far more prevalent in Christianity than proclivity towards homosexual sin. But we seem to make less fuss about them.

That is a red herring.  And no we don't make less of a fuss about them.   This thread is about the issue raised in the OP which is why we are focused on homosexual sin in THIS thread.   We have a lot to say about other sins in other threads.   But again, lacking anything important or meaningful to add to the discussion you return to same tired nonsensical red herring.  Why not post something that actually contains relevant substance???

Shiloh, don't you consider this to be rather insulting?  You could be 100% correct with your comment but then when you add this little jabs it just taints it.  You will probably say I'm just being honest and telling the truth, and other things.  But comments like these are graceless, and unseasoned, and often takes away from much of the enlightening things you have to say.  Sorry to divert the thread MG.

He likes to insult people who are even on his side, you have to give him credit he's equally insulting.....lol

Really?  Like who?

a little constructive criticism would go a long way for you, you may consider yourself direct, somtimes its taken as rude and demeaning

A Little Constructive Criticism Could Go A Long Way For Some Folk

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. James 3:17

They May Consider Themselves To Be Direct And To The Point

And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: Ephesians 4:11-15

Yet Others May Take Them As Rude And Demeaning

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.

As an earring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, so is a wise reprover upon an obedient ear.

As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, so is a faithful messenger to them that send him: for he refresheth the soul of his masters. Proverbs 25:11-13

Some reminders...  Let us remember humility, as Believers we are heirs of God with Christ. (Phil. 2:3; 1 Pet. 5:5, Rom. 8:17) Are you esteeming others as better than yourself, clothing yourself in humility, and realizing fellow believers are joint heirs with Christ? Remember we as Christians are to seek restoration with a spirit of gentleness. (Gal. 6:1) Are you being gentle with your words? We as Christians are to be kind and tenderhearted to one another. (Eph. 4:32) Are you being kind with your words? We as Christians are also all WIPs (God's work in progress) and God is at work in our lives until the return of Jesus Christ. (Phil. 1:6) Are you treating others as WIP’s and pointing them to Jesus Christ?

Wouldn't saying something like( "but again, you return with the same red herring") been far more tactful, and gracefilled while also getting your point across.  Shiloh, its not about what I like or don't like, but it is an issue. It is something that you should consider. I know this isn't the first time you heard this and it wont be the last if you continue to deal with people in such a careless manner.  I will not divert from the thread anymore concerning this issue.  I just felt the need to share this with you.  I hope you do consider it.

It's funny...  people can continue to misrepresent my position, assign false values to me and my position on a continual basis and you have nothing to say about that.  Those kinds of debate tactics are rude and disrespectful and basically put a lie in my mouth just so they have something to knock down.  That is something that gets no reaction from you at all.  As far as you're concerned the real problem is that I don't like those tactics being employed against me continuously even after I have addressed them repeatedly.   So, what I am seeing here is that you appear to be rather selective in how you approach proper debate tactics.  You only seem to find your outrage when I get tired of being misrespresented and have the courage to say so.

Yeah, I tend to get frustrated when I have to address the same red herrings over and over just because the person introcing the aforementioned red herring can't come up with a post that actually addresses the substance of the conversation, but has to insinuate that criticizing homosexuality comes from an attitude of self-righteousness.  Kind of a rude dig, but then you are happy to let that go simply because you disagree with my position.   This isn't about posting with tact.  It is about shielding the people you agree with from criticism and painting my criticism of their posts as rude, personal attacks.   Criticizing the lack of substance in Gandalf's posts doesn't violate the TOS because I am attacking the argurment not the person.

That is true...BUT...I do believe that a perverse desire can be completely removed from the soul of a person, because some homosexuality has its roots in a demonic spirit---so deliverance will remove it, and the mind will be set free of it, and only clean and natural desires will replace it.

So gluttony's not a perverse desire?

It is an evil just as all sin is evil, but homosexual perversion that we are seeing in such great numbers is something that goes far deeper and changes a person's mind so that he believes there is no sin in it, that this is a NORMAL orientation! That is the work of the enemy. The roots of this sin go very deep and actual deliverance is most often needed. Not to say that some people need deliverance from their eating habits, but most of these people who are also believers (except for those who lie to themselves and say they were born to be obese, as in the family line) know they are not walking in God's healthy ways.

IMO, a homosexual is broken and needs re-making. Only Holy Spirit can do such an overhaul.

what is a unclean spirit? .....for 200 Alex

An unclean spirit is a demon.

I see, in other words, you can't come up with people I have insulted that are on my side.

I get blunt and more direct when I have to repeatedly deal with the same people assigning the same false values to my posts and make me appear to be saying things I am not saying.  The rudeness began when people started putting the lie in my mouth and then argued against it.  It is not "rude" for me to deal with those kind of dishonest tactics head-on.   It may not be pretty, but my directness and bluntness don't exist in a vacuum

So gluttony's not a perverse desire?

I believe it is and I don't want to give in to my desire for all those doughnts.  But I still want them.  What if it was heroin I wanted or alcohol? (I don't!)  Would that be more or less sinful?  IMO, it would be the same.  I'm not sure a person can simply keep sinful thoughts out WITHOUT prayer and the help of God.  Maybe I'm beginning to see what Shiloh means.....without laying such things at the foot of the Cross, there is no way to overcome them and there probably is no repentance if one doesn't ask His help.

There is no repentance unless God allows it.

2 Timothy 2

23 But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife.

24 And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient,

25 in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth,

26 and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.

I'm still looking for evidence that perverse homosexual desires are demonic but gluttonous desires aren't.

I am sure there is a demon for every known stronghold a man can have. There is also just plain old sinning, also.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
