There is no such thing as a second chance.

The tribulation is a second chance.I hope this post does not turn out to be a huge pre-post-mid trib debate.I do not think that is what bornagain intended.

Why do you claim that the Tribulation is a second chance? God calls all who would be His before He closes the end of the Church era. There are no second chances. If a person rejects Christ in the time of great freedom and moves of Holy Spirit, what makes you think anyone will come to Christ under duress and in the midst of catastrophe, with millions of lives being lost all around them?

Everything in scripture points to the wicked as refusing to repent.

Revelation 9:20

But the people who did not die in these plagues still refused to repent of their evil deeds and turn to God. They continued to worship demons and idols made of gold, silver, bronze, stone, and wood—idols that can neither see nor hear nor walk!

Revelation 9:21 And they did not repent of their murders or their witchcraft or their sexual immorality or their thefts.

Revelation 16:9

Everyone was burned by this blast of heat, and they cursed the name of God, who had control over all these plagues. They did not repent of their sins and turn to God and give him glory.

Revelation 16:11

and they cursed the God of heaven for their pains and sores. But they did not repent of their evil deeds and turn to God.

TODAY is the day of salvation.

People are beheaded - so why is there no second chance? What you are saying makes no sense!

2 Thesalonians 2:9-11

Revelation 6:9-11 speaks of those martyred during the tribulation.

I agree. If they are persecuted and beheaded for refusing to take the mark, then they may as well just take the mark if they have no chance of salvation.

I guess I doubt because the enemy likes to whisper into my ear that I am a loser and always get the raw end of every deal. I am always last with every thing so I wouldn't be too surprised if I get left behind. I don't go out on missions, I don't go to church because I work on Sundays, I have a bit of a temper problem and get stressed out sometimes, I can be pretty selfish. I don't consider myself holy enough.

I think of people getting raptured as those who have followed the Lord wherever He goes, who have given Him their all, who witness to everyone they meet with boldness. These people have all kinds of holy patience with their children and never fall into temptation with food or pre-marital sex (like a friend I know ;) ). I just keep missing the mark over and over again no matter how hard I try :( . I have a hard time believing God will say "well done good and faithful servant...". I know I have the Holy Spirit, but aren't there Christians who God will tell them "I never knew you" as they try and make it in?

Sorry for unloading all my anxieties on ya'll! But I feel like I can trust you guys not to judge me to harshly!

God bless!

I think the Christians to whom God says "I never knew you" were never Christians in the first place. I believe it is referring to false Christians.

bornagain, you sound like every christian i know! we ALL fall short. there are no people who are so dedicated that they never screw up. the majority of christians have never been on a mission. most of us go through periods in our lives when, for whatever reason, we don't attend church regularly or at all. except for the grace of God, none of us could ever hope to be holy enough. we're all HUMAN. and our basic human nature is selfish, greedy, and given to tripping over ourselves over and over into the arms of temptation.... even if that temptation has deep blue eyes and a charming smile.

and maybe you are always last. but God says that in His kingdom, the last shall be first, and the first shall be last. those whom you think are holier than you will likely be washing your feet in heaven. (and that's not a bad thing.)

like i said before, you won't be left behind, and the evidence of that is that you still feel the conviction of the Holy Spirit every time you make a mistake. ya know, that's the thing about God's forgiveness. He gives you a clean slate every time you ask His forgiveness, even if it is for the same stupid thing that you've asked forgiveness for a thousand times last week. He loves you, and even though it doesn't seem like it right now, i promise there will come a day when you will look back on where you are right now, and think "wow, was that really me?" seriously. i know, because i once had the exact same feelings, fears and questions that you have now. i used to wonder how God could possibly love or forgive me. and because of my feelings of unworthiness, i ran from Him for years. i wouldn't pray because i felt like i didn't deserve His love. but He never gave up on me. He loved me no matter what i did, and He kept waiting patiently for me to trust Him to forgive me.

so trust Him!

Thank you for the encouragement! I forgot about that scripture that says the last will be first. That is very comforting! Your post really made me feel a lot better and eased my anxiety! Maybe I am normal after all! As in, a normal born again Christian I mean.

Willowood,

I think you make a great point too, Jesus is telling them that He NEVER knew them, not He once knew them and now He doesn't. That is very interesting. I know Him, but sometimes I distance myself because I am ashamed of my sin. I feel too ashamed to read my Bible or pray sometimes.

Some Bible interpreters believe that their will be absolutely no chance for salvation after the rapture. There is no place in the Bible which says this or even hints at it. There will be many people who come to Christ during the tribulation. The 144,000 Jewish witnesses Revelation 7:4 are believers. If no one can come to Christ during the tribulation, then why are people being beheaded for their faith?.

Revelation 20:4-5  And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

2 Thessalonians 2:9-11 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

Revelation 6:9-11 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

The Salvation

And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth. These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth. And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed.

These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will.

And when they shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.

And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves. And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.

And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them. Revelation 11:3-11

Of All Israel?

And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.

And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven. Revelation 11:12-13

Hum....

And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: Romans 11:26

Don't listen to satan's lies. You need to be the closest to God and read your Bible when you are feeling like that.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
