Greetings Nebula,

I agree with you on the two posts I saw of yours. It does get quite tiring to see these people come on here, bash Bush, then that's the last you ever see or hear from them and all it does is stir up a lot of emotion. It sure does stir up mine in the event you didn't notice.

As usual, I will attempt to "temper" myself. I do enjoy welcoming newcomers to the board as perhaps you have often seen. But those with an agenda just have a tendency to gall me.

But my love, continues to the brothers and sisters of this board, I just wish there weren't so many skeeters out here in this day to "wear down the saints".

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

wow, my first post, and what a warm greeting. at first i thought i must be at the wrong site b/c this couldn't possibly be a christian site. i haven't been called such names since junior high.

anyway, i have a master's degree in theology from Fuller Theological Seminary, but I wouldn't think that I should have to provide credentials to be able to speak in an online discussion board. my mother wanted to see the diploma, but not because she didn't believe me! (:

i don't think i'm bush bashing. since when is pointing out areas of weakness "bashing"? i have areas in my life that i want addressed, and i don't see him addressing them. i never said anything about ABANDONING other moral values, just not focusing exclusively on them. i just happen to believe that just b/c he is an evangelical that we shouldn't expect him to help us with 2 issues, and then nothing else. again i ask, what about other moral values?

i have chronic muscular illness i have had for 14 years. my medicines cost $1200/month. i would like to get them for $600, and i don't think they would be unsafe from canada. one person proposed new laws in this country, which would be great, but NO ONE is working for those laws. in fact, i don't see anyone doing much about health care. just because democrats have talked about this topic more doesnt mean it isn't important.

how many of you can honestly say that your family or a family you know hasn't faced hardships due to an out of control health care system? i'm not "bashing bush." but i do think we should be pushing him and every other politician to do more than the nothing that's going on now.

i don't know. maybe some of you have better ideas. what can christians do to help the many families out there who can't take of their health? I think that God is concerned about this problem. if he isn't, then i will be sorely disappointed.

Hello, Kuada, and welcome to Worthy!

I hope you find many Blessings here.

A far what Bush said concerning the availability of drugs bought from Canada, I believe, if I remember right, he addressed this subject in one or more of the debates leading up to the election. His main point as afar as I can tell, was not a worry of bad Canadian drugs, but that he was reserved about opening up the flood gates for less reputable companies to sell their untested stuff from the north. In other words, he is worried about dangerous stuff coming across the border that may be from a third nation taking advantage of the situation.

What remedy would we have for this in the US? :24:

While I voted for Bush due to his stance against the terrorist threat, there is much to question concerning other policies of his, as with any US President.

There are many programs we could cut from and send the money to organizations that could do some good in America, and I think we should be looking at that. I don't see any good reason why we, as one of the richest nations in the world, should have so many poor and needy on our streets. But, the flip side to that is what exactly should be done? Do we encourage a deeper welfare state by having our citizens rely more and more on Government handouts?

If we could all help from within, I believe we could begin to depend less on the Gov't, thereby sending a signal to Washington that a bigger Government is not needed.

Are we willing to bring the homeless into our homes, feed them, give them a line on a decent job? Are we willing to tend to the down-trodden, unaware that we may be tending to the angels as a test of our hearts?

The good ole standard liberal lines-soak it to the rich and lower prescription drug prices. Hmm...... So you want lower drug prices but yet you want to jack up the taxes on the researchers and companies who produce the life saving drugs?

Just who are the "rich?" For the Democrats, that's anyone making over $200,000. So that means your small business owners in local small towns are considered "rich!"

In reality you hurt the little guy when you raise taxes on the "rich." It is the "rich" who provide the jobs for the little guys! When you force them to pay more taxes you are taking away money they have to give pay raises and hire new employees. You also cause them to have to raise their prices to cover their costs!!!

In the 1980's when Reagan cut taxes, the actual dollar amount of taxes paid by those over $200,000 per year went UP!!!!! Could it be that when you give the "rich" more money to do with that they invest it and make more? That money got invested in additional employees and products which in turn brought profits up causing MORE taxes to be paid!!!

If you really want to drive a liberal crazy, remind them of the words of JFK-"a rising tide lifts all boats."

Greetings Kuada,

Paul had a "thorn" given him of which scripture says little or nothing. God's comment to him: "My grace is sufficient for thee." I cannot relate to your illness, I know that when I am sick, I want to babied and cared for, like the whole world must revolve around me. I am bidden though to guard my heritage in Christ and I must set my priorities according to His Word. Once I was deathly ill and running a temperature of 104 degrees, but at that time, my wife would occasionally have dizzy spells caused by an inner ear infection. Well, at my feeling the worst, she had a spell. I had learned that walking her around and doing deep breathing exercises would cause her "spell" to quickly dissipate, and this is what I did. It was not possible just to let her walk around on her own because she couldn't even stand up.

Well, I am not saying this compares with your trial, but I am saying that God will get you through this, but all of us must continue to honor Him and His Word. Whether someone voted for Bush because of profession of Jesus Christ, or just because He was the lesser of two evils, his conviction and morals are more closely aligned with Godly principles and thus mine, than anyone else that might otherwise have been elected.

The "government" was never intended to be a goody two shoes doling out OUR money to any and everyone that has a need. You would do well to study just what the government is all about starting with the selection of Saul as King of Israel. Concluding with Jesus comments to Pilate in the NT. You might learn something.

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
