I cannot say I have a relationship with Christ.  I did once ask Him to come into my heart, but no faith grew in the following years.  Now I experience Him through the Word.  His presence reverberates in the Gospels and He speaks to me over the ages.  I will not deny Him and that He has great influence over me.  I see Him in others, even nonchristians, as CS Lewis noted.

What would I like to know?  I was pretty sure I was clear, but in case I was not ... Describe your personal relationship with Christ.

I consider myself to be a child of Christ.  I am not sure if I really believe in God, but I do believe in Christ.  Does this seem strange?

Don't

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6

Kid Yourself

And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Galatians 4:6

You Can't Have One

Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. 1 John 2:22

Without The Other

Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. 1 John 2:23

You

Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father. And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life. These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. 1 John 2:24-26

My wife warned me that I should not be posting on this website.  I should probably stay away, rather than bring up my doubting Thomas questions.

Doubting my questions???

Of course I am outraged that someone has doubts on what I say (just kidding). Isn't it that the ToS say "(1) never disagree with Thomas T, and if you do, go back to (1)"... ? Or did I miss anything? But luckily I still can contain my strong feelings :happyhappy:

Have a nice day,

Thomas

Why not learn instead of doubting?  We all come from doubting days, but as we study and our faith grows, He becomes much clearer while our doubt fades away!

Truth is a hard pill to swallow for some.  They would rather not hear it then deal with it.

Faith is an antidote to doubting for many people.  You are basically leaving the doubt unresolved- -  to labor on without resolution.   It may work for awhile, but it can rear its ugly head at any time.

Gray wolf- might I encourage you to do a search for Chuck Missler on Youtube and listen to some of his teachings.  He is a former physicist and has a way of explaining Christ and the Bible that definitely appeal to other scientifically minded individuals.

A good place to start would be his study of Genesis since he explains several things this topic has brought up.  Here is part 1 and I am hopeful you'll watch the other 2 parts.

I also think it's sad yet funny your wife warned you against talking to Christians.  Lord help us.

Your pointing to your fault. Faith is not about you, but about God. I have trusted faith for many years and it never has come to a bad end. Only when I take hold of the issue again is when things start turning bad. There are some things that we will never resolve and have to give the idea of resolving them up.

I cannot say I have a relationship with Christ.  I did once ask Him to come into my heart, but no faith grew in the following years.

You have to step out in your faith and you WILL experience Him - by following His commandments, He will abide in you and you in Him.

You actually have to put it into practice.

When you put into practice what He said and did- you experience Him. You are walking His footsteps, you are living the life He led - you get to know Him and what He's like.

There's a part YOU need to play in this relationship too - otherwise it will be a fruitless relationship.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
