Super Jew,

I will answer your posting later today, however I want to post my final study on this first.

A Study of the Epistle of James

Rahab and her show of faith

[B]Verse 25

Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?

Verse 26

For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

This is the second example of faith justifying with and by works, Rahab. The former, was Abraham, who was renowned for his faith all his life long.

In this study we will see how faith will save the worst, and that it is evidence by proper works. Rahab believed the report she had heard of God

Anne, Bless you!

I Pray that every stray lost soul on the internet wanders in and is led to that one wonderful set of words that you put together.

No commentary, book or tract I have read spoke more eloquently the love of God than your one post.

Amen.

I'm with you ted. I cannot believe that Anne is "new" to the faith. Obviously the Lord has much to reveal of His Grace through her.

What a blessing she is.

(it's ok, you can stop blushing anne)

Suzanne

Thanks Ted and Suzanne,

However still blushing :)

I love to read the Bible.

All those other books I used to read, put all my energy into and research into, when I threw them away and picked up the Bible, it was like a whole new world.

You know Suzanne, I never really did thank you properly, you see the questions that were in my head that day when i wandered into worthy boards were answered in that study you posted. It was no coincidence!

I have always side stepped God, because I thought I'll never make it, I'm not strong enough, I'll only let him down. When I read your post on endurance, it smacked me right in the face.

I believe God was saying to me, "you may not be strong enough, but I am, now walk with me and I will help you endure to the end."

Since then his told me how, judgemental, argumentative, full of pride, etc, well you get the idea, and i don't think he's finished yet, i've got a feeling he's going to be pointing a few more things out that i'm lacking, lol......... but I love him. He wouldn't tell me these things unless I needed to know them, he's building me up and turning me around to a new direction, but I've got alot more to learn.

As for the Studies posted, I really cannot take the credit for them, as i've said before, I didn't write the bible for one so the credit really belongs to God. Secondly i've got an excellent study guide written by Matthew Henry and Thomas Scott, I just add a few of my thoughts to it, as i feel led.

I have lived around the Bible all my life, read it, but it was just a book then. I understand it now, since getting saved, it's comforting words, it's chastising words, it's words of advice.

This is all because a lady posted a message on endurance, hoping but not thinking it would attract much attention, how wrong she was. God got my attention that day because one of his faithful servants listened to his voice.

God Bless You Suzanne :)

Okay, works for me :)

I know it may seem like I'm debating semantics...but I've learned recently that if we just misword something slightly in the wrong way, it can leave the lost with the wrong impression.

First true faith then the desire to do God's Will.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Greetings Anne,

I pray you God's blessings :whistling:

I am in agreement with your testimony, I like your statement that I quoted :emot-crying:

"First true (Real; genuine) Faith (trust/confidence in the testimony of God), then the Desire (A wish or longing) to do God's will (pleasure)

[Titus 2:1-15]

1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:

2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.

3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;

4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,

5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

6 Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.

7 In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,

8 Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.

9 Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;

10 Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.

11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

Walking with you in the spirit of peace and love,

your brethren in Christ,

Repent1..... :emot-crying:

Well.....I'm as OSAS as you come. However, I do believe that real faith does produce works that glorify God. Things that people see and things that aren't seen even by the people who do the work. Its a natural reaction to a unspeakable gift.

P.S. to all of the good folks who I part ways with on OSAS. Peace!! Man!!! I'm not grinding an axe over it. (Dime and Horizoneast and whoever else)

God Bless

Dan

I like that "a natural reaction to an unspeakable gift," yeah, that's a pretty awesome way to put it.

Heavenly Father thank you so much for the lessons i've learnt during the study of this chapter, I pray Lord Jesus that you will continue to teach me, and build me up in your Holy Word, this I pray in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, amen.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
