There is a moth that is camoflauged to look like the bark of a tree. There are insects that look like twigs. They may look like each other but the insects are not plants. Nor did the insects evolve from plants.

We may resemble monkeys, but that does not prove that we came from an older species of monkey. A mere resemblance is a pretty shakey way to claim that we are descended from apes.

I'm not religious

So are lots of other people who have better things to do with their lives than to be continually antaganistic.

So, why are you?

and I consider it a form of control over those with nothing more meaningful in their lives.

And we have found Jesus to set us free from a lot of junk.

Again, why the need to throw out so much hate at us? (And yes, it is hate.

Excrement-lobbing monkey I may be, but I don't believe everything I read in one book and I know that those unhairy upright things came from an older species of monkey.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

That wasn't what I meant, and you know it.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

1: Why am I what? If you do actually mean "Why am I?", the ony answer I can give is "Because".

2: I find it pointless, and like most humans, if I don't like it I'll set myself against it.

3: So what did you mean?

I could go and dig up research into the matter, but I can't be... Frankly, evolution should be taught much more in-depth at school. Then I woulsn't have to explain how life formed on this planet.

OK - let me rephrase the question -

Why so much hate against Jesus?

3: So what did you mean?

It's an illustration to express a point.

Haven't you learned about that in school? It's a common literary device.

1: Just trying to provide an opposing viewpoint. It's no good having a debate when both parties want the same thing.

2: I have no hate or malice against Jesus in person, even if there was such a person. It's his organisation I find redundant. Or rather, its methods.

3: And so because I expand on your metaphor it suddenly makes no sense?

Would you care to elaborate? What is it about "his" organization that you find redundant, or its methods?

fyi, I learned evolution thoroughly in school before I was saved. I found it flawed back then, and still do today.

'Saved', were you? 'Saved'? From what, exactly? Just what was so bad about life before you were 'saved'?

Elaboration... hmm...

If I started out by saying "the flaws are numerous and many, but I care only to name but a few", I would be lying as I simply can't remember them all.

The flaws that spring to mind are thus:

At one time it was a sin to eat meat on Fridays, I believe. Then it wasn't. What happened to all the souls damned to hell after the rules were changed?

The wine represents the blood of Christ, and the biscuit/cracker/wafer/thing represents the flesh. Isn't that promoting cannibalism?

How can the Bible be taken as Gospel (you know what I mean)? Is it not merely a book of stories written by humans, flawed humans, and copied through memory for many years before printing presses were invented? And even then it came out wrong.

Why no proof of god's existance?

If God is Omnipotent, why does he need believers? Is he just very insecure?

I am saved from the penalty of my sins and reconciled with God. I have more peace in my life. I am becoming a better person through the changes He makes in me. Life before I had the Lord was bleak, empty.

Elaboration... hmm...

The Catholics promoted that as part of their doctrine. You should ask a catholic. There are many differences between catholics and born again Christians. The Lord does not change.

The wine represents the blood of Christ, and the biscuit/cracker/wafer/thing represents the flesh. Isn't that promoting cannibalism?

Im not clear on how the catholics view this. I believe that they view the eucharist as changing to His blood and body, but Im not sure. Born agains view it as just bread and wine, taken as part of an observance to the Lord. It holds meaning to us, but is not the least bit canabalistic. At no time does it become body or blood to us.

You might eat a cookie shaped like a person. That doesnt promote canabalism either, even though it represents a person.

How can the Bible be taken as Gospel (you know what I mean)? Is it not merely a book of stories written by humans, flawed humans, and copied through memory for many years before printing presses were invented?

The bible is the inerrant word of God. God breathed scripture. His Holy Spirit inspired the writers. The bible was faithfully copied, preserved. You can see old copies nearly 2000 yrs old that have not changed the text between then and now.

And even then it came out wrong.

What do you claim is wrong in it?

Why no proof of god's existance?

If God is Omnipotent, why does he need believers? Is he just very insecure?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

He has provided proof all around you. Some people refuse to see it.

If God is Omnipotent, why does he need believers? Is he just very insecure?

The Lord doesnt need us, but He loves us, wants us. Praise Him.

Loop,

Don't forget about the burning of [Witches], the condoning of slavery, and the oppression of women.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Burning of witches was a gross misuse of scripture to promote the current views of society. The same with slavery. Oppression of women was not part of the church but was part of society as a whole.

Yet today's society gets upset if we want them to stop abortion.

OK, so you hate Christianity.

Why? Who did what to you?

P.S. Your expansion had nothing to do with the point being made.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
