If you are referring to Shyguy's post, I think he was probably responding to the same poster that I was, who said that someone who murders goes to heaven too.

In other words, you can repent of murder and go to heaven, which means you're not going to murder anymore, you've had a change of mind. But if you continue to be a murderer, there was no repentance.

I think this is one of those things that we leave to God. We cannot judge another's salvation--that is between them and God.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I agree.

Unless God has told us in His Word. Do you agree?

Take for example Judas Iscariot. The Scriptures say he is not going to be in heaven, so we can "judge" (not a judgment really) according to the Scriptures.

This assurance sure does trouble me! This week in my world, a teen boy went out and hung himself, because his father grounded him from his truck. He was 17, he was in 2 youth groups, and his peers are devasted. They are also being told that this boy is in heaven. As I watch this young man being idolized. They made up t-shirts with his picture and jersey number, and great words about him, they wore them to school. His funeral was full, people were not able to get in, he was a popular kid. His peers are watching all of this. What is the message we give them, IF we assure them that this boy went to heaven? Even though he had such venom toward his father for taking his truck away, that after he was told to clean out his truck, he went out and hung himself in it? What is the message his friends were given about his behavior? The enemy just portrayed suicide as heroic, glamorous, and what a way to get attention! These teens just saw deception at it's finest, by the enemy. They were given the perfect picture of what they think is a passageway to heaven, which in my opinion is more than likely NOT! What better way for the enemy to appeal to a teen who is in a dark period, than to misrepresent suicide?

I do not think any of us knows for sure, but WHY oh WHY would we ever want to give the assurance that Yes, someone who is contemplating suicide, might misconstrue??? I do not know, and I would be more apt to say that one who commits suicide did not know the saving grace of the Lord? To usurp God's authority and power over one's created life, is baffling at the least.

QUOTE

A REAL CHRISTIAN CAN COMMIT SUICIDE AND STILL GO TO HEAVEN, LIKE A REAL CHRISTIAN CAN COMMIT MURDER AND STILL GO TO HEAVEN.

And my question to that would be, if a "real" Christian were committing murder, were they a "real" Christian??? If a person died in the middle of committing a vicious crime of murder against another, are you honestly going to say that they would wake up in heaven in the presence of the Lord, with His blessings?

Do true Christians "continue" to commit murder? If not, then how can a REAL Christian commit murder and still go to heaven? These do not agree with the doctrine and teachings of Christ. To Love! A Christian loves his brother, lest he is no Christian at all.

1 John 3:10 In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest: Whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother.

11 For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another, 12 not as Cain who was of the wicked one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil and his brother's righteous. 13 Do not marvel, my brethren, if the world hates you.

14 We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love his brother abides in death. 15 Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

Is murder of self included? I don't know, but I DO NOT want anyone to be mislead about suicide. It is an eternally risky act.

In His Truth,

Suzanne

I do not hesitate to go back to my previous post. We'd better realize what message the enemy just gave to our teens, when we don't tell them what we have stirring in our hearts about suicide. I have 8 year olds in my ministry, who will clearly tell you that if you kill yourself, you DON'T get to go to heaven??? Why would they say that? Where is the prompting for them? We've got to start talking honestly with our teens and adults, and quit giving false assurances, just to make somebody FEEL better. We've got to say what we all know down deep.................suicide is an eternally risky business for anybody, Christian or not!

In His Truth,

Suzanne

Irene,

But do you have a command to love others? To commit suicide is devastating to those left behind. It leaves a legacy of burden to those who love, and an intentional one, that leaves loved ones feeling neglected and unloved. As a Christian we are to die to our own feelings of pain and hurt, rather than transfer them to our loved ones by suicide. That is what it does. It takes your pain, and passes it on to another. That is not what Christians are to do. We are to love, even if it is painful to do so by existing. Our Father is the Author and Creator of Life. We are not to act in His place by taking over that authority, to end it.

In His Love,

Suzanne

my point was that I understand that some one would want to die as I have been there myself and will most likely be there again .....

Not from depression but from pain I understand someone wanting to end their suffering I understand someone wanting it to end.

The Lord is ever Gratious to me and is always with me so now I am not wanting to die but in the futher who knows, and even then the Lord is still beside me and still my Heavenly father

\No I do not want to die right now but who can say in the future. Unless you suffer 24/7 you have no idea what it does to you mentally physically emotionally

Yes I still depend on the Lord and yes I have a loving hubby who is so kind and gentle and understanding but all that aside there are times when I just do not want to go on and the Lord EVER FAITHFUL helps me covers me with Grace mercy and love so for now I am coping with HIS help...........

????- I have no sympathy for this. I'm sorry, but i DO NOT. Maybe I haven't suffered enough but what does the Bible teach us about earthly suffering?

"For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us" -Rom 8:18

What suffering in this present time is so bad that a TRUE believer can't look to future glory?

"And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose" -Rom 8:28

"Count it all Joy, my brothers when you meet trials of various kinds." James 1:2

That's the believer in action. Knowing that God is on our side, counting what is earthly pain as heavenly joy. Knowing that our God is not arbitrary, but does everything with purpose. The Believer Knows that God will return, and the future glory is greater than the current pain. He knows this is the test of faith, and He glories in the trials, because the trials are for the believers Good.

There are no "yeah buts" at this point. Job dealt with all of this, and faithful he remained. Suicide has not been given to us as an option, because we know that God has called us to where we are.

"In this you rejoice though now for a little while, as was necessary, you have been grived by various trials so that the tested genuiness of your faith, more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ!" 1 Pet. 1:6,7

"Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life." James 1:12

I understand how "someone" would want to, but not those in Christ, it makes no sense. The question we need to ask oursleves, is if we are saved, why DON"T we have the joy that comes from Knowing Jesus Christ.

Whether that is true or not, is irrelevant. The Word of God doesn't change because I have or haven't suffered. It also doesn't change for you because you have. I'm sorry your suffering, but I'm sure if you are a child of God it is for a reason.

When i preach at my local nursing home I see people who think their lives are worthless, and they too are constantly ready to throw in the towel. Christ gives life purpose, and Joy, and a confidence that He is in control, and that means they, as well as you are here for a purpose, whether for the testing of your faith or the upbringing of your children.

Don't forget what's coming after our time here on earth, that is the revelation of Christ and an eternity with Our lord and Saviour, in victory and glory. Take Joy in that. I pray you will find victory in the midst of your difficult situation.

God Bless

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
