Not sure if this has anything to do with this topic but I heard as many of you have that some people want the Pledge of Alleigence out of schools and to take In God We Trust from the money bills. Why is everyone or most people wanting to rid of all of this stuff?

and teaching our kids that their parents will lie to them about the very fabric of reality... the existance of santa... how then would they be able to trust the exsitance of a so called 'jesus'?

My kids were all raised on Santa, jolly ole' soul that he is, and two of them are grown now, and strong Christians and I assure you they believe in and worship the exsistence of Jesus.

I can think of little less communistic than a contemporary secular Christmas, not too much sharing of resources in one of those in my experience!

Quit the whining. Christmas shouldn't be a holiday. It violated separation between church & state. Face the facts. We don't even have absolute proof that Jesus was born on Dec 25th anyway. Im tired of hearing the same tunes all over again, cant we get original and make new ones?

I don't think so. It's a man made tradition, with pagan origins. You won't find this tradition in the Bible. Jesus disciples never practiced this tradition.

It's a sad thing, when you realize that for many lost souls, this is the only day they will come to Church. And instead of using this golden opportunity to share the truth of the gospel, our churches feed them this myth. They usually will not be back, but yet they believe they have done their duty, just because they went to church, but it really wasn't church they went to, it was a church practicing idolatry.

You may think there's no harm done, but have you stopped to consider how many millions who only go to church on this one day of the year, yet they never get to here the truth. And this goes on every year. What a shame.

Those who are desperately trying to keep Christ in Christmas are deceived, because He was never in it to begin with, NEVER.

It should be a dead give away, when we see almost the whole world doing this. But God commanded us to come out of the world.

One more thing:

I'm not against the birth of Christ, please don't mis-understand what I'm saying here. I'm very thankful that Jesus was born. But the thing is, He came to die, so that we could be set free. He was the Lamb of God!

And it just so happens that He only wanted us to do one thing in remembrance of Him, the Lord's Supper. This was His only command in regards to how we remember Him. The one and only command!

I'm not sure what church you've been to, but the churches I've attended in my life gave the salvation message of a risen Christ and give an altar call to seek salvation.

In what way is it idolatry? We've been through this pagan thing over and over and over..... If you get rid of everything pagan influenced, you're not going to have too much left. There go the names of the days, the names of the planets, and many other things.

Just look at what you're saying here. Just one quick example of an idol:

Christmas Tree, but the list goes on...........

I didn't even mention the fact that more people commit suicide during the christmas season than any other part of the year. This is also when people are the most depressed. Then many go in debt trying to pay for this nonsense, many of whom will be slaves to this debt all year long, only to do it again the next year, and so on......
