David Ben-Gurion was a Buddhist???

the reason i issued this post is bcs yesterday i argued with a Buddhist,i said the re-establishment of Israel is the biggest Biblical testimony

he said do y know who has sat on the David's seat(that's means the leader of Israelites）？----David Ben-Gurion，a Buddhist----that's y GOD's arrangement？

i really do not know how to answer

People look at Israel through the eyes of the bible, and while this may be true for the long term in God's plan for Isreal, let us not forget we live in a different world in which Israel is as secular as the next state in many respects.

The re-establishment of Israel is a big prophesy which has been fulfilled. David Ben Gurion was not a King (a king sits in Davids seat), he was a prime minister. So Ben-Gurion never 'sat in Davids seat'.  

 

 

Historically, the kings of Israel varied, some being good, and some not so good. Some were faithful and some were idol worshippers. So, if a king of Israel worshipped Buddha, he would be among the idol worshippers, an evil king.

 

Isaiah 11:11 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.

¹² And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

 

Ez 37:

⁴ Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.

⁵ Thus saith the Lord God unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:

⁶ And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the Lord.

Notice the metaphor is that the children of Israel scattered are compared to dry bones, hopeless. But God regathers, rebuilds them... which means the regathering and rebuilding of Israel. In verse 13, God bring the children of Israel back together and makes the country come alive, but it is not until after Israel is gathered that they will know the Lord. So, Israel is regathered still in unbelief, and then after being regathered in their own land, then they shall know the Lord. While Israel is once again the land of the Jewish people, Jewish people are still being gathered/returned to the land from all over the world. It is after the complete regathering, then they will recognize that it is the Lord who has done this and spoken.

 

After being scattered from the land for 2000 years, the land of Israel is now re-born, and the children of Israel are being re-gathered at this point with many in un-belief.

And more important ,fulfilling one of the most important Biblical prophecies: the re- establishment of Israel.

Silvia, the things you quoted stated that David Ben Gurion was a close FRIEND of Buddists. If you look at the same article's list of well known buddists Ben Gurion's name is not on it. He is in fact listed as an admitted athiest if you click on his name. About half of the Jews are very secular and are athiests. Ben Gurion did seem to believe in the coming of a Messiah, which is a bit contradictory. He also believed in miracles, it would seem, and he saw God work many on behalf of the nation of Israel.

You read something into the article that was not there due to the other person's remarks. Don't believe everything you hear or even read.
