Minus any harm based on a religious point of view what harm comes from well regulated prostitution?

The harm done by prostitution exists in ways regulation cannot change.  Regulating prostitution doesn't remove the degrading effect it has when women are objectified as sexual objects.

You don't get out much do you?  Our society is built up women being objectified as sexual objects.  Have you walked by a magazine stand lately?  A certain sports magazine just published its annual swimsuit issue, seems there is something about it that mist be seen as objectifying women as sexual objects.  Do you watch much TV? I have been watching a lot of the Olympics and let me tell you, 75% of the ads seem to be objectifying women as sexual objects.

One of those inconsistencies that make my head want to explode is that prostitution is illegal but pornography is not.  So, being paid to have sex is legal as long as the one having the sex is not the one paying?

I agree that mortality should not be legislated.

Just out of curiosity, what is your opinion about punishing "hate crimes"? Or spanking laws?

Hate crimes are stupid and go against the constitution's equal protection clause.  They punish the same action differently based up assumed emotions.  They are just an Orwellian way to try and control people. Spanking can harm others so there has to be some sort of rules. I should probably not get started on my personal opinion on spanking.  Did you see the footage of the Kansas lawmaker trying to justify a law that would allow teachers, caregivers and parents to spank children hard enough to leave marks.  It was embarrassing to watch

Isn't that enough?? For the pleasure of the flesh, you are willing to give up the walking with God???

It is enough for me personally, but we as a country do not base our laws on the bible, and should not do so.  We are not a Theocracy

You aren't winning the argument that prostitution does no harm with this response. In fact, your laughing faces are provocative to raise anger against you.

If I could outlaw pornography, I would.

Did you read the response I gave to you concerning prostitution?

OK. Can you not see how your opinion on these things are founded on your moral convictions?

What sort of a message is being sent to non-believers discriminate against people that are different than them?   I think that private businesses should be able to do this legally, but morally I think it is very wrong.

It' s not a case of, "you're gay" so you are banned from my store and I will not serve you, period."    It is a matter of a gay couple coming in and asking for something that violates the religious convicitons of the store owner.

A  Christian bakery is not going to say, "you're gay so you cannot buy donuts at my store."  Rather, they are saying, "I cannot in good conscience as a Christian make a wedding cake to celebrate same sex marriage."

This not like racial bigotry where blacks were not even allowed into certain places and were denied any and all services across the board.  This is about gays not being allowed to impose their immoral, perverse lifestyle on to Christians in a manner that forces the Christian to violate their religious convictions.

Yes....  :mgcheerful:

I am not trying to win an argument, that is a useless undertaking on this forum.

I did, and I will respond to your points here...

The risk of spreading venereal diseases is one. Condoms don't protect against AIDS nor the virus that causes cervical cancer.

The CDC would disagree with you.  And with regulation the risk are mitigated.

Most human trafficking today is about prostitution.
Pimps are known to be cruel "employers".

Legalization and regulation would help to resolve both of these issues

Prostitution is emotionally damaging to the women.

Not all women involved would agree with you. Is prostitution really any different than what someone like Anna Nicole Smith did?

Many marriages are ruined on account of prostitution.

No, this is not correct.  The problem is not prostitution the problem is a cheating spouse.

no, I cant.  Let me explain.

Hate Crimes..

Two men are standing on the street, Bob and John are their names.  Two other men walk up and attack Bob and John using the same physical force and brutality.  The two men are arrested.  The man that was attacking John was yelling racist comments during the attack.  This man gets a harsher sentence based upon perceived emotion than the man that attacked Bob.  The harsher sentence is meant to discourage such attacks.  Thus John is getting greater protection under the law than Bob, and this is against our constitution.   This is not a moral judgement, this is just factual.

Spanking.

If one person is leaving marks and bruises on another person, that person is being harmed and the law should profit one person from harming another.  Again, not a moral decision, but one of what our laws are designed for.

I am going to comment on this. The CDC doesnt know what theyre talking about-condoms do decrease the chances of AIDS and other diseases, but they do not prevent them. In fact, the AIDs virus is the most likely to get through it-its small enough, that a microscopic tear in the condom (which can happen from the mere application and is actually rather common) is big enough to let the AIDs virus through. Of course the CDC wont admit this-they like the rest of the nation, promote free sexuality and they want people to feel safe-so naturally, even if something isnt completly safe, like condoms, theyre not going to admit to it.

As far as your argument about prostition ruining marriages, I agree with you. Sure, a prostitute is a temptation and makes an easy way to cheat, but it is the man who makes the choice, if not the prostitute he will likely go elsewhere. Its the cheating spouse that makes the choice, not the prostitute.

I do think the practice is degrading to women, unfortunatly many prostitutes don't even realize this, so naturally they think theyre happy. But thats true of pretty much any lifestyle without Christ

The CDC does not say they stop the spread totally, this is a strawman.

This is what the CDC says...Consistent and correct use of male latex condoms can reduce (though not eliminate) the risk of STD transmission.  and then this...Latex condoms, when used consistently and correctly, are highly effective in preventing the sexual transmission of HIV, the virus that causes AIDS.

Do you find swimsuit issues degrading to women?  or sexy hamburger ads or Axe ads or a million other things we see on a daily basis in this country.  I personally think all these things are bad for women, yet the SI SwimSuit issue is credited with saving the magazine, without it SI would have gone out of business.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
