Wrong.  For an American President to not show religious bigotry, and to select a man well qualified persona to represent America - despite his sexual preference - is reflective of a strong leader and a good judge of character.

Are you even aware that Michael Guest served in the White House and in the United States government (Foriegn Affiars) in some capacity for 4 presidencies?  Take a look at his biography: http://www.osec.doc.gov/obl/romaniabulgari...Bio%20Guest.htm

Yet you openly criticize the Bush administration for not lambasting the man and holding him up as some kind of abominable gay sacrifice.  You say that election of a qualified man, with a distinguished career as a foreign diplomat, to an office which he is well qualified for, is wrong [unjustified, unforgivable, etc., etc.] because he is gay.

This is nothing short of religious bigotry of the type that certain southern churches loudly preached during the civil rights movement of 50s to 60s!

Just off hand Bro...

An Ambassador would be one who promotes and represents your country to the country that he has been advocated to.

If indeed so, would not sending a openly gay person inadvertently align the U.S to be one who accepts and condones gay people and the lifestyle that ensues ?

How far different is accepting this, versus the sin of trying to use the Bible to say that homosexuality is okay ?

Can a message be pried from the sender or can a sender be pried from the message he gives ?

Just questions.

I have merely been pointing out the fact that we do not live in a theocracy under the rule of a monarchial priesthood. the highest political office in the land has not authority of control the morality of the nation. But it does have the obligation to run the country according to the will of the people, without - and pay close attention here, because this is something that the religious bigots don't seem to understand - WITHOUT preference to or exclusion of any particular group of people. That means that if a man is qualified to hold a political office the President cannot discriminate against him for any reason, despite how he personally feels about him.

Freedom of religion means freedom of religion!

Sometimes I wish it meant freedom from religion...

Isn't that what the ACLU is trying to do?

This is for those who didn't like my 2 cents. Well here's 2 more.

First off I never said we should all stand up and back the president. Why get yourself all worked up over something you have no control over? The wheels were set into motion long before we were even thought of. You can't change that.

Look at the world around you. It is laden with sin. It's everywhere. You can't escape it. The only thing you can do is to toe that righteous line the best you can.

( I didn't know there was a homo bandwagon )

Now as for God cursing those who stumble. I never said that.

If you see a brother or sister doing something they shouldn't, correct them.

I don't claim to be perfect. I can't. I stumble constantly. As a matter of fact I fell a few times just reading this thread.

Everybody stumbles. I mean look at Peter. He walked with Christ. He sat down and had meals with Him. He witnessed the miracles performed by Christ and yet he denied Him.

When you stumble, get back up. How do you think a child learns to walk. He doesn't just lay there when he falls, he gets up and takes another step. He might fall a thousand times before he makes it ten feet but he never gives up.

Nobody's perfect. I'm not perfect. If I've offended any of you out there I am truly sorry and I apologize but I won't back down from my beliefs. I don't concern myself with the affairs of the world. I don't belong there. I used too, not anymore. I've seen what's out there. I lived it. I've seen the darker side of this world and I truly believe that knowledge brings me closer to God.

I know some people are put off by the way I word things, but that's me. I don't do sugar coating. I'll tell you like it is and if I'm wrong I'll be the first to admit it.

Anyway, those are my thoughts.

Have a good one.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
