Sad shame.  I think it's all a waste of time and drains your senses.  Facebook, Twitter, etc., all horrible to me, plus you are putting your info out there for data miners, LE, criminals, employers, etc to see.  Crazy to me.

I have good long time friends who I interface with on facebook.   We have our own group and what we post on that group no one else can read.....    

 

nothing you put on the internet is safe from data miners......   not even here at worthy, for the whole world has access to the things we post here except for the teen, mens and womens forums.

 

So I would ask, what in the world are you doing here...

    I do agree,somewhat.......I am just not into all that worldly chit-chat & gossip that profits a man nothing! But like other one has it set up(exclusively) it is a good way to speak with friends,family & loved ones......where by snail mail it would be a long process,a lot of waiting  & a lot of postage-lol ....He & his group can all participate & interact together (if I am understanding correctly) So what is yucky for us is a very nice avenue for him & many others

    I think everything is what you make it.........I have no interest in socializing with anyone online except for my Brothers & Sisters here & those who come to visit us with hopes we can help be a Light to them & display Christs love for us all....but that is for me

    Even here at Worthy(as other one stated)we can be targeted for data but we need to be careful in what info we divulge,also we should all have proper computer protection as ie:anti spyware,anti malware,virus protection etc,,,,,I amm ever careful not to just click on videos & external links until they are reviewed by admin(if they get posted before a mod sees it)

    So,yes,,,,,I understand exactly what you are saying but I cannot say it is all bad,God Bless you,perhaps we are old school,huh?LOL

Face book isn't all bad , it's how it's used.

 

It can also be a great tool for witnessing and many of the members on Worthy have joined Worthy through Face book. 

 

Face book used with discernment , used wisely can be a great way to witness.

I found a new use for my smartphone....   I can turn it into a wifi hotspot and read Worthy on my laptop through my phone connection......    how great is that.

The internet is a wonderful thing.  We can communicate with people all over the world.  Skype is amazing.  The thread is about smartphone tech and how it has turned people into "zombies".  I was adding that other social medias like facebook and twitter are distracting and I do not like the way they are used to track everything you do.  I am happy that a few people can keep in touch and share with their friends, but over all, it HAS turned people into "zombies" and is used by various people to either sell you things, cheat on your significant other, rob you, etc.  The NSA stores your pictures with names and uses face recognition for association.  My abusive husband is LE and I insist that my friends do not put my pictures up, because if I ever have to leave, I do not want him easily figuring out where and with whom I am hiding.  The tech is great, but I see it for what it can be, and in reality, is.  He and his friends already sit outside of people's homes and listen to them through their cell phones.  So, I am glad it works for you, but for many it is a nightmare.  Carry on.
