Hi Enoch2021,

Some good points there bro. As regards the Old Testament saints who had faith in what God promised - `looking for a city which has foundations, whose architect & builder is God,` they `performed acts of righteousness,` which is being obedient to the amount of revelation they were given - pre-cross. (Heb. 11: 10 & 33)

These people, we are told, are in the General Assembly in the third heaven. They are a different group than the Body of Christ as is listed.

`...you have come to Mount Zion....to the General Assembly & the Body of Christ who are enrolled in heaven, & to God, the judge of all, & to the spirits of righteous men (& women) made perfect.` (Heb. 12: 23)

Blessings, Marilyn.

I probably didn't explain what I meant very well but I think you misunderstood what I was getting at.

Don't you think the effects of the plagues on the false prophet and his kingdom are going to dampen the intensity of the persecution of the saints?  Have you read the trumpets and bowls lately?  Pretty stifling stuff there.

I'm not saying that the 3.5 years are cut short, just the days of great tribulation.  I think where we differ is the 6th seal.  I see it as the precursor to God's wrath, where people see the sign of the Son of Man, not the Son of Man Himself, and they fear for the wrath to come.

I agree that the seventh (last) trumpet and the seventh bowl are the second coming, where people actually see the Son of Man (not the sign of).  This distinction is in Matthew 24:30  I'm curious as to why you think the 6th seal is the second coming?

Sorry for any misunderstanding... my comprehension doesn't always function.

Yes you are possibly correct that the plagues etc will be distracting.  So maybe we will have some relief from persecution towards the end, its a possibility. Although for most of us possibly "He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire".  (2 Thess 1)

Regarding the 6th seal, I feel the second coming context is pretty clear:

12 I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, 13 and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind.14 The heavens receded like a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place.15 Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and everyone else, both slave and free, hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains.16 They called to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us[f] from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! 17 For the great day of their[g] wrath has come, and who can withstand it?”

Its normally pre-tribs that have this tendency to see two great earthquakes, two resurrections, two last trumpets, the leaders of the earth hide twice from the lamb, two days of wrath , two gatherings into the clouds, the stars fall twice, the heavens roll twice, every mountain and island is removed twice etc

I believe the appearance of the lamb to the leaders of earth and the great earthquake only occur once at the second coming, its the less confusing view and I don't believe the bible was written to confuse us.

Theologically/Practically, can you tell us the Purpose of GOD casting "Plagues" on Born Again Christians/"HIS Church" (Collectively)?

What is the Purpose of the Entire "Great Tribulation"....?

Regarding the 6th seal, I feel the second coming context is pretty clear:

Can you show us Specifically where Jesus Returns to the Earth in the 6th Seal?  And if so, what "coming" (# and Type) is spoken of in Revelation 19?

Its normally pre-tribs that have this tendency to see 1. two great earthquakes, 2. two resurrections, 3. two last trumpets, 4. the leaders of the earth hide twice from the lamb, 5. two days of wrath , 6. two gatherings into the clouds, 6. the stars fall twice, 7. the heavens roll twice, 8. every mountain and island is removed twice etc

Strawman (Fallacy).  Do you prepare the Flame Thrower just before or right after you conjure these?

Please explain (in detail) exactly where "pre-tribs" see these things (1-8 above)?  I'll get you started, Great Earthquakes....

(Revelation 6:12) "And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;"

This is between the 6th and 7th Trumpet....

(Revelation 11:13) "And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven."

This one is apart of the 7th Vial Judgement....

(Revelation 16:18) "And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great."

and give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire".  (2 Thess 1)

(2 Thessalonians 1:7-9) "And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,  {8} In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:  {9} Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;"

So... are you saying that if your are in the midst of these "troublemakers" and the LORD comes back, the fire will just consume them?

Hi Enoch2021,

Great to see you post another `purpose` question. You said -

`What is the Purpose of the Entire "Great Tribulation"....?`

As I often say we can speak details back & forth but until we speak of God`s heart, His plans & purposes for the 3 groups, then we are just mouthing words at each other for NO purpose.

Blessings, Marilyn.

Not in this case, it is Literally defined for you...

(Hosea 5:15) "I will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their offence, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me early."

"I" = Jesus

"go and return to my place": to go and Return HE must have left it. (Ascension)

"till they acknowledge their offence":  "They"= The Jews.  "Their Offence" = Rejection of Christ.

"in their affliction" = Jacobs Trouble/Great Tribulation.

"they will seek me early": Early is better translated "Earnestly".  "They" = The Jews.  They "The Remnant", will Petition HIM to Return @ Bozrah/Petra.

That's what satan is trying to stop...The Petitioning.  After the Cross....satan's only card left to play (he knows Scripture and he knows GOD will not go back on HIS WORD)....is to kill the Remnant before they can Petition HIM to Return.

It ends quite catastrophically for him

That's Big Picture....in a nutshell.

Hi Enoch2021,

Thank you for the explanation of part of God`s purpose for Israel - for them to seek Him & acknowledge their offence & that Jesus is Lord. This is still only part of the reason for the great tribulation as I realise you would know - to judge the Gentile world system.

Thus with Israel turned again to God, He has His purpose for them ruling in the Millennium & His purpose for the nations to be there also.

To expand further, Lets scrutinize what Jesus said....

(Matthew 24:15-28) " When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)  {16}  Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:  {17}  Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:  {18}  Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.  {19}  And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!  {20}  But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:  {21}  For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.  {22}  And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.  {23}  Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.  {24}  For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.  {25}  Behold, I have told you before.  {26}  Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.  {27}  For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.  {28}  For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together."

So firstly, HE instructed you to go check what Daniel says (The preparatory verse to the passages for understanding).... (Daniel 9:24) "Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy."

Who's Daniel's People? ... The Jews.

Then....

1. "let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains":  Who is Jesus talking about here?  The Jews

2.  "him which is on the on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house":  In Jerusalem the houses are so close together they socialize/gather and relax on the Rooftops.  The Bedrooms are downstairs. Who is Jesus talking about here?  The Jews

3. "But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter":  In and around Jerusalem, the Winter Snow leaves alot of roads Impassable.  Who is Jesus talking about here?  The Jews

4. "neither on the sabbath day":  Besides Seventh Day Adventists, who even knows what the Sabbath Day is?  Who is Jesus talking about here?  The Jews

In the Quintessential Great Tribulation Passages Above, did Jesus warn: The Greeks, Persians, Babylonians, Africans??...did he mention Athens, Alexandria, Babylon, Rome, Memphis, Crete, Cyprus, New York or Paris  ;) ??

Our mission, as I see it, is to find out GOD'S Purpose...HIS WILL.  Nothing GOD does is Random.....God doesn't play Dice (Einstein).  Everything is done with Skillful Masterful Design and Purpose. What I've found is most give up looking for it because it's not easy.  But once it's found...then everything lines up perfectly.  99% of the time, it's not found where you think it should be....Like in adjacent passages in and around a Doctrine or Event; I think that's why people lose interest.  But for the diligent, there is a Treasure to be found....

(Proverbs 25:2) "It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter."

(Isaiah 55:11) "So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it."

There is an absolute treasure here (For me anyway)...

"When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation".

This takes place in the Holy of Holy's, correct?  Well back in the day, only the High Priest was allowed to Enter here and that was Once a Year!  But Jesus said they will SEE.  Hmmm  :mgdetective:

What's the only way that The Jews, or anyone else for that matter, would be able to SEE this?  This passage is a Technology Statement......TV/CNN.  There's a boatload of Modern Technology statements in Scripture.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
