Well here's my story

December of 2013 myself and my husband decided we wanted to follow Christ... to walk his path as best as we could (we both decided internally at the same time w/o saying anything to the other so obviously we were on the same wavelength :-)

We stopped smoking (we were light smokers), stopped drinking (maybe twice a year a Beam and coke and margarita respectively LOL), threw out our porn, no more swearing, no more passing judgement (we are still working hard on this), attend church (just started and before that we were watching/listening to multiple pastors online (Chuck Missler, Perry Stone, Rob Skiba, Mark Virkler, Dave Geisler, etc)  and pray several times daily.
We also will be helping the unfortunate (though we ourselves are basically poor and I am disabled in a wheelchair we still have more than others).

Boils down to we want Christ as our whole lives, we want to walk his path how he wants us to. About 2 to 2 1/2 mos ago I started asking for an angel to guard and protect us and our home (and those of our families) and my husband during his deep prayer time (in the mornings) he also asks for an angel.

Not soon afterwards our cat started jumping on the chair you see in the picture and just stare very hard at the opposite wall of where he is looking at in the pic (to the left). He would just stare. No bugs, webs, hair, shadows, etc... we checked, wiped, etc. So we put it as God heard my prayer and sent us an angel because  our cat does this almost every single night.

Then about 1 1/2 mos ago we purchased the picture of Christ you see there in the pic. Not soon after our cat jumped on the chair and just stares at Christ's face. He is not looking at the glass or the frame or any shadows... the only reflection he could see (my husband checked lol) is the white of our ceiling. The thing is is he STARES! Some nights he switches sides, he will stare at the Angel in the opposing corner and then at Christ.

Now here is the strange thing! Cat does this EVERY SINGLE NIGHT during the same time frame (1015-11p) which coincides w/my deep prayer time. I head to the bathroom (because it's a half bath and thus small and I close the door and it's dark and very quiet and peaceful there) He goes to the chair and does his staring when I am done w/my praying EVERY SINGLE NIGHT!

Last night was the strangest. When I headed into the bathroom to pray he was sitting in his box sleeping. When I came out he was up and standing by the couch. He turned and looked at me and headed to that chair. My husband said as soon as I went into the bathroom for prayers cat went under the picture on the floor this time and stared up at it and did his whining meow.

I rolled over to the bed (I'm disabled) and the cat jumped on the bed by me. We have a beautiful cross on our wall that says 'as for me and my house we will serve the  Lord" Our cat has never paid it any mind but tonight he comes and sits next to me (I'm still in my wheelchair because he is sitting on my side of the bed) He is staring at the cross. Then his eyes keep flitting all over the place. They come back to the cross and he stares then eyes flit all over. He does this for  a couple of minutes and then goes to the end of the bed and plops down and stretches out. I climb into bed and I start commenting to my husband how cute the cat looks (he's a big gorgeous blond Maine Coon) stretched out there (we are still just amazed at what we have been seeing). I can't remember what I say but all of a sudden the cat's head springs up and he stares at the cross, next thing we know he is jumping up and leaps to the couch and heads straight for the chair where he jumps up there and starts staring at Christ's face
again
He never just randomly heads there like cats do (sniffing and wandering)... he always goes w/a purpose, especially last night.

My friend from church says he is praying but my husband wonders if he can see a spiritual warfare going on and is watching it. We don't know but I do know that should  the day he stops doing that I will get worried. I feel like the Lord has blessed us. We have tried getting video but because it only happens at night it's dark in  that corner so my husband is going to put a gaming camera (w/infrared) there tonight to see if that will capture it. My husband has said he's woken up at 4-430a on some nights and the cat is still on that chair staring. We don't know if he got off at any time up to that point but he is apparently there periodically into the early morning
hours.

What are your thoughts?

I get scared when husband mentions spiritual warfare because I feel like it might be for me as it's always after I pray and sometimes randomly
I get very irritable w/o any sign.(and btw we were going to weeknight service last night and I was trying to get ready and just ready to scream at the drop of a hat because my hair wasnt' going right, my shoes were being butts. Kept telling my husband maybe God doesn't want me to go to church. I go to the door and open it to wheel myself out on the ramp. My husband comes out to get me down the ramp and closes the door behind him. I'm down the ramp and he goes to get the keyes to the car and the keys are locked in the house. We have no way of getting back in the house. Neither of us turned the little lock on the doorknob (I know I especially didn't) so we had to miss church while he drilled off the
knob to get us back into the house and then change the lock out. by the time this is all done we are welllllllll past the start of the service :-( and it takes 25 mins
to get there)

(I cannot post the pic of the cat doing his thing. Can someone please walk me through on how to do this?) Thank you and God Bless <3

My initial feelings to this aren't good. It just seems too creepy and spiritual, but not in the Godly way.

I don't get good feelings about it personally. Not sure how others feel?

I want to address the first part of your message.

You wrote, "December of 2013 myself and my husband decided we wanted to follow Christ... to walk his path as best as we could (we both decided internally at the same time w/o saying anything to the other so obviously we were on the same wavelength :-)

I just wanted to make sure that you know that all of the things you have mentioned have no bearing on your actual salvation except in the sense that God calls every man every where to repent.

The real deal is that salvation is through believing in what Christ did for you on the Cross and the works that normally follow a living faith in Him are the result of salvation and not the catalyst for it.

You may already know this but I just wanted to make sure you understand this truth.

Biblically it is found most clearly (in my personal view) in Romans 4:4-8.  And Titus 3:4-7 is also excellent as a passage that teaches about the nature of salvation.

I want to clarify this by saying again that repentance from sin as shown by Hosea 14:2 is very important to salvation also.

Can't tell from your post Ladyalaska, but do you and your husband know Christ Jesus as your Redeemer?  If you do are you fairly young in the faith?  It sounds like you may know Christ as your Savior just can't tell.

But as believers in Christ we are never told to ask for an Angel's help but rather to ask for the Holy Spirit and His power released in our lives.  By asking for an angel to guide you, you may have open your house to something you do not want, in there.  In the occult and new age religion they ask for spirit guides, which are evil spirits.  I say this especially because animals can sense things that we cannot, and more importantly I notice you said somehow on a day you where going to church your door just locked on it own.  God will send us His Angels, but we as believers let Him chose when.

Praying for you, and your house.

What are your thoughts?

It is an interesting story, but I think much more detail of your walk with Jesus.     Where did you get the idea of having Jesus send an angel for protection?  One should ask for the protection of the Holy Spirit, but that's not to say that the Father would not send an angel for that purpose.

While I do believe that Cats and Dogs can sometimes look into the spirit world and see things that we can't, I think it bothers me to have it looking at pictures in doing so........    if he was just starring into nothing I'd be a lot more comfortable.

I've had some nasty run ins with the dark side, and it seemed that they got especially active as i spent more time getting to really know Jesus.

So your husband may well be right in the spiritual warfare thing,, but that's not anything to be afraid of as long as Jesus is the Lord of your life and you are both following his commands.

Just a note from  experience that I witnessed; when you ask for protection, always do that open ended and don't just ask for protection today for instance.....    the first day you forget to ask can open you up for interesting things to happen if you are actively involved in spiritual warfare (which we all should be involved in one way or another).

I humbly suggest you forget about asking angels into your life. Fallen angels are "angels". You don't want to invite them in.

I suggest you grow strong in Christ. Get to know Him as best you can. As you grow, the Holy Spirit will grow in you too, and then you can have God Himself, the Holy Spirit, guide and protect you as much as you earnestly desire.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
