I was on sick-leave from my job for the last month and a half due to a life-threatening illness. My first day back at work was yesterday. I never did enjoy this job but I thought after a month and a half off, I might actually be glad to be back to work. It was worse than ever! I even got a "talking to" from my supervisor regarding how much time off I took for this illness!! My doctor had faxed him info regarding the very serious nature of my illness, too. I don't get it!

I am so completely unhappy in this job that it's become unbearable. The doctor said that it had a lot to do with how serious my illness became.

I decided that I just have to find a new job. It's not usually the best time of year to be looking but I am anyway! If I can find something.... anything.... I am not giving a two weeks notice. I have never just up and left a job before without at least two weeks notice but I feel that if it's affecting me this badly, it's justified.

Am I wrong?

Could be that God has something He's already prepared for you and this is His way of 'nudging' you out of the nest.

Did you know that's how many birds teach their young to fly? They nudge them out of the nest, sweep down and catch them on the wing before they hit bottom and try again.

The wee ones are scared but somehow, they learn the mastery of flying.

Maybe you're learning to fly in what God has planned for you.

Thank you so much, Cat. I needed a bit of encouragement! At this point, this wee bird isn't afraid to leap from the nest! Time to soar!

Thanks again!

Thank you AnotherTraveler,

My heart has definitely lightened-up since you and Cat posted. I felt badly about leaving a job without two weeks notice because I am a person of integrity. This job started out just fine. Very quickly I started feeling like I didn't belong. Not socially, but in some other way. I felt as if I were a fraud because I shouldn't be there. That feeling has been replaced with a loathing for it. Never felt that before.

Note to self: Pay closer attention to the promptings of the Spirit and heed them more quickly! (It's the only explanation I could think of and Cat was part of the confirmation for me.)

There was a time when I had to make the same dicussion about my job as your making right now. I wanted so badly to say forget it and leave, but I prayed about it and God said something very important to me that I hold close to my heart. Where ever you are I am. That one sentence freed me from so much of the emotions that was running through me.

I stayed... not for me, but for a freind who said that he needed me there. But I understood that I wasn't alone as I first thought I was. I absolutely agree with

cat may be this is God way of saying it's time to move on. But it really doesn't matter if it is or not because He's with you where ever you are.... always.

God Bless You

Jacqueline

Keith,

Sometimes it is best to walk out of a bad situation without a word, especailly if the situation is wearing you down including in the means of your every day health. God has promised us that there will be times of trials, but doubtfully he would mean for us to be continually walked upon. Pray about this decision, and leave in whatever manner is seen as well as felt best.

As has been said before God could be giving you a gentle push in the right direction. Best of wishes to you in your search. May God bless you.

With Love In Christ,

Danielle

Hi! I think that supervisors don't care what your reason for not being at work is they just want you there. Not all jobs are this way but alot are. In some cases giving a notice is good because when your new job calls reference then, you will get a good review from your old job. But also, if you give a notice they can fire you on the spot. It sucks that the respected thing to do when leaving a job is to give a notice but, if they fire you they don't give you a notice. I worked as a supervisor for many years and when I mentally couldn't take it there anymore I just quit. i think they knew it was coming. I have a good relationship with them still. You need to go over every single possibility as to if just quitting is the best choice. I hope you make the right one for you and don't worry about anyone else(job). Good luck to you. ;)

Brother, the words 'two weeks notice' are NOT IN THE BIBLE! Ask yourself this: If they were going to fire you, HOW MUCH NOTICE WOULD THEY GIVE YOU???

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
