I thought God looked on the heart. I would imagine very few women cover their heads when in prayer. I would rather God loook at my heart and listened to my prayer with or without a head covering.

if the High Priest did not wear appropriate clothes what would have happen ?

Women do not go into the Holy of Holies. We are not under the law or does that apply only to certain times and certain people?

Blessings LittleLamb....

      I think this is applies

I am convinced, being fully persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for that person it is unclean.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                     Romans 14:14

We are accountable for our own salvation......for me,I wear my hair long  but if you (or any woman)wears her hair short I would never cause them to stumble by saying"it is Gods law" ,,,,,we are not under any laws & the law was fulfilled by Jesus .......He is your covering dear Sister & if that is your conviction, then it is for you,,,,,,,it is between you & God as it is between me & God

If a woman chooses to wear their hair short, it is an outward sign of rebellion.  It is the same with the man having long hair.  It is not a sin issue, so I don't believe your soul is in danger if you fail to obey this teaching, but I do think it is a bad testimony.  If I have long hair, it is a sign that I am under no one's authority, and in my case, that means Jesus.  If the woman has short hair, she is saying she is under no one's authority, which means her husband and Jesus.  It is a sign.  The Bible refers to it as a shame not a sin.  I just choose not to want to bring shame to my head (Jesus), so I keep my hair short.  It is a personal decision, because why do I want to bring shame to Jesus?

Well, I guess that means that any woman who dresses as a man, wearing shirts/blouses and slacks/ jeans is also a disgrace to her husband. Strangely, does not God say man looks at the out ward part but God looks at the heart? If a woman chooses to wear her hair long so be it but some prefer it short. I find no fault or prejudice one way or the other and I accept God's Word that He looks on the heart.

@Butero
Truth is God does look at the heart as Little has said.

My reference to the previous passage in 1 Cor 3 where people were claiming they were followers of Paul or Apollo was to show that there was 1a) a message directly to the target audience of the letters - believers in Corinth. There was 1b) also a message for us today as the church - follow Jesus not any one particular man.

So too it is the same with this passage in 1 Cor 11 of how men and women should wear their hair. 2a) To the church in Corinth that meant not looking like the pagan worshipers around them. 2b) To the church at large today that means the idea that Christians should not tempt one another and, as much as possible, adhere to national customs wherever they are not against truth or holiness.

That said we should view this issue and passage through the eyes of God's grace and mercy. Outward appearance is only skin deep. God is interested in heart change.

My 2 cents ;)

God bless,
GE

We, in our western Christian mindsets forget that these letters are personal letters sent to a single group and necessarily written for the benefit of the church at large.  Paul didn't write I Corinthians to "the church."  He wrote to the Christians struggling with issues in first century Corinth.   The letter has relevance for all of us, but it should be viewed as having all Christians in mind when it was written.

If God was so concerned that ALL Christian men should have short hair, then God would have told us what "short" means.  He would have given us HIS definition of that term,  because "short" is relative.  "Long hair" in the military is defined differently than how we would define it in the civilian world.   Corinthian men wore long hair to attract other men and they tried to appear effeminate in the process.  That is what Paul is addressing.  He is not concerned with the length per se.  He is concerned with what long hair on men  meant in that particular immoral culture.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
